“A funny near not funny thing happened in Starbucks parking lot at this location. I parked my car in the lot across and over a bit from Starbucks. My husband and I got out of the car and started walking towards the door and after a few steps we both took a bit of a dive downwards as the slope was steep and was not obvious. It would have been bad if we didn’t catch ourselves because we could have done a face plant right into the asphalt! OUCH! But maybe someone else might not have been so lucky and might have completed a face plant. Why they didn’t even out the grading is a mystery to me! It’s an accident waiting to happen. BTW, our drinks were fine.“

“This is an excellent little spot for a coffee. The baristas are passionate about specialty coffee and matcha. Not only did they make me a phenomenal flat white, but we also had a great chat about a pour over brewer I was interested in trying at home.“

“Clive Coffee is tremendous team of experts offering quality produces and superb service after the sale! From the initial contact from sales, Clive Coffee was extremely responsive to my initial inquiry, then followed up with very solid professional assistance with knowledgeable staff guiding us to the right equipment to support our mobile coffee hut. They then followed with providing a staff member who was our point of contact to receive and set up the equipment. We had several questions as new we were new to the coffee business. Every time we called, a live person picked up the phone and provided the assistance we needed. We weren't shuffled from one person to the next. The person that answered the phone provided detailed help for the specific commercial machine, grinder and auto-tamper we had. In addition, they provided us access to two training videos specifically tailored to our needs free of charge. “This is my favorite place in Portland. I love the open mics, the trans community events, the potlucks, and the openness of the space. Every time I walk in, I feel welcome. The worker-owners are caring and kind people. The giraffe is definitely a fun added touch - but my favorite part of the Tap is definitely the community. This place has singlehandedly motivated me to stay in Portland.“

“This is a very nice cozy spot. It also has a whole seating area and bathroom upstairs. There is also a tv. Great space for a meeting of like no more than 15 people. Also a great coffee date place. The food is good and the prices great! They even have a drink that is 4 shots of espresso and hot water that is only $4.25 all day! Starbucks can't beat that. The lady there was very nice. I will definitely be going back.“

“This was a spur of the moment stop and I'm so glad we did! I came for coffee while on a visit from out of town, but if I lived in the area, I would so be back! This is a brilliant idea. Movie rentals with a snack area inside? Why don't more places do this? This is great for family nights, couples, friend-get-togethers, or just a night alone! And their coffee was a pleasant surprise! I took a drink and my frappé punched me in the mouth with deliciousness. Along with their coffee they offer smoothies, milkshakes, and I'm sure other things. This is well worth swinging by. If you don't want to go inside, try their drive-thru like I did!“

“The quaint little coffee shop. Has been here for about five years. The person behind the counter, I unfortunately, did not catch their name. I assumed them to be the owner. Was absolutely a delight to talk to. Made lovely small talk. And just started my day off on the right note.
I got a hazel nut latte. And it was absolutely wonderful, very smooth, very nice balance of hazelnut flavor oat milk and expresso.

“Best coffee shop in town. My parents have been coming here since 1993 and I have fond childhood memories here. I started coming daily in 2018 and I'm here almost every single day. As far as the coffee goes, sometimes the line is long and sometimes drinks don't come out super fast, but the coffee *I* think is the best in the city. They use a Seattle brand, Cafe D'Arte, which I'm sure plays a role in that. Ian, the manager, is just a fantastic human being, as are all the staff at the shop. I've come to be friends with them, and hung out with most of them outside of work at this point. The people who go here are just as nice and I've made friends with a lot of regulars over the years too. I often run into my neighbors here. The shop itself is one of the few I've seen these days that's kept its bohemianesque early-2000s aesthetic and I find it incredibly cozy and homey. If they remodeled to be chic and white I'd be devastated at this point. By far one of my favorite places to be. Great place to get work done, too, with wifi and plugs and great music.“

“This cute little spot is very hip (in the black metal seating and minimalism decor sort of way), very cute. I got the famed marionberry poptart which lived up to the hype. I got a season pistachio drink that ended up being a little too sweet for my taste (I was told it was slightly sweet but was surprised when it was full blown). Latte art was beautiful. The barista was wonderfully helpful and gave a full rundown of the offerings. This is not a work in a coffee shop sort of cafe. The tables are small yet cute. Better to plan for a short visit.“

Unfortunately, we did not end up drinking either of our drinks as they did not have enough mocha flavor to our liking and the shot was so so super acidic (opposite from being bitter). So much so that water was not enough to cleanse our palate of the taste. I am guessing maybe it was just a bad dial and may be okay the rest of the time.“

“I’m a snobby coffee lover. Often i find myself disappointed; either disappointed with no in-house flavors, low quality beans, or lack of true barista passion. THIS is a coffee shop with PASSION for coffee. In house Pumpkin Spice that isn’t too sweet or over powering the espresso. It was blended to perfection, the barista was bubbly, sweet as pie, and clearly loved being a barista! 100/10 latte (seriously)!
