“The onion tofu banh mi was super delicious and the tofu was really juicy. The black sesame chai is a must try! Banh mi made starting at 8am. Parking at this location. Would definitely come back if I’m in the area again and will recommend to friends.

“Best coffee shop in town. My parents have been coming here since 1993 and I have fond childhood memories here. I started coming daily in 2018 and I'm here almost every single day. As far as the coffee goes, sometimes the line is long and sometimes drinks don't come out super fast, but the coffee *I* think is the best in the city. They use a Seattle brand, Cafe D'Arte, which I'm sure plays a role in that. Ian, the manager, is just a fantastic human being, as are all the staff at the shop. I've come to be friends with them, and hung out with most of them outside of work at this point. The people who go here are just as nice and I've made friends with a lot of regulars over the years too. I often run into my neighbors here. The shop itself is one of the few I've seen these days that's kept its bohemianesque early-2000s aesthetic and I find it incredibly cozy and homey. If they remodeled to be chic and white I'd be devastated at this point. By far one of my favorite places to be. Great place to get work done, too, with wifi and plugs and great music.“

“This cute little spot is very hip (in the black metal seating and minimalism decor sort of way), very cute. I got the famed marionberry poptart which lived up to the hype. I got a season pistachio drink that ended up being a little too sweet for my taste (I was told it was slightly sweet but was surprised when it was full blown). Latte art was beautiful. The barista was wonderfully helpful and gave a full rundown of the offerings. This is not a work in a coffee shop sort of cafe. The tables are small yet cute. Better to plan for a short visit.“

Unfortunately, we did not end up drinking either of our drinks as they did not have enough mocha flavor to our liking and the shot was so so super acidic (opposite from being bitter). “I’m a snobby coffee lover. Often i find myself disappointed; either disappointed with no in-house flavors, low quality beans, or lack of true barista passion. THIS is a coffee shop with PASSION for coffee. In house Pumpkin Spice that isn’t too sweet or over powering the espresso. It was blended to perfection, the barista was bubbly, sweet as pie, and clearly loved being a barista! 100/10 latte (seriously)! “I had a single origin espresso and it had a bit of acidity (they said it was Mexican coffee beans), and the brown sugar was nice because it had thick grains. The space is spacious and the taste is good (you can eat it all after drinking it). Esso doesn't seem to be A-level, and the texture is vague...

Since I am someone who only drinks hand drip or Esso, I thought latte could taste better. Basically, latte tastes brighter when you add acidity to it.“

“So happy to have a vegan spot. The barista (not sure of her name but new to Portland was kind and a great listener). Used to frequent in the past but the music was too loud. This time it was perfect, cafe music not kitchen music. They have a lovely WIDE bar at the window, unlike the 6" wide ones at many places.

I did not love the Portal brand matcha. Would frequent more if the matcha was better, like Mizuba which only a couple of place in Portland use (maybe due to the price point). They use a high quality CLEAN oat milk.

Would also love more soy free food options. Bring back the beet salad and kofta :-). I would also love pastries/sweets with coconut sugar or maple instead of cane sugar but I know the price point makes that prohibitive.

Go try them out. I simply listed my suggestions above, but they have many great items on the menu!“

“Came in this Saturday 11/23/2024 and tried their coconut coffee smoothie and Dragon Fruits sugar can, and it was amazing!! Fresh and tasty is all I can call out. The coconut coffee with ice cream suits me, it has a faint scent of coffee which can let me experience the taste of Vietnamese coffee but is also not too strong for me. The young girl welcomed us very enthusiastically, and friendly, and took great care of us. 10/10“
