“By far and away, my most favorite eatery in Portland. Fried rice spam bowl is my favorite!! But their Kahlua pig and Shoyu chicken are top notch too. Friendly staff, and safe space. Mahalo Plenty.“

“The atmosphere is AMAZING! 2nd time coming and truly a vibe. Both time staff has been wonderful! Remi and Jasmine were such great time and so knowledgeable as well. Didn’t get to try the food yet, so we definitely will be back for that🤍“

“Quite simply one of the best meals I've had. My family and I came to Portland for a short vacation and headed here not long after we landed. We ordered way too much food, but it was all insanely good. Excellent value for money as well. The staff who served us were really cool. Definitely check this place out if you don't know it.“

“A perfect hideaway tiki bar! Looks like nothing from the outside, and then you walk into a themed dreamscape. Fantastic decor and experience that's a throwback to vintage tiki bars. Legit menu for rum enthusiasts, but the snackies were great, too.
Our server (Nathaniel, I think he said) was a proper mixologist who made helpful suggestions and was a joy to chat with and watch as he crafted drinks.
Thanks for a very fun time!“

“The food was fantastic! Best Hawaiian I've had in a long time! At first I thought , this is expensive but after receiving the food i thought again! HUGE portions we had 2 meals from what we ordered. And the purple yam chocolate dessert was tops too
4 stars for service because you get it yourself when they call your name!“

“I purchased lunch for my team at work and every one of us couldn’t get enough. To quote one person “it’s like a flavor party in my mouth!” Is an understatement. All of the flavors were perfectly paired, and not overpowering with one or the other. I can’t wait to get more!“

“I love this place! Great food, great people and prices. You really can't ask for more. I have tried their spam musubi, terri spam musubi, and their salmon and tuna triangle. Everything is delicious and fresh and service is always with a smile! This is my new favorite spot for sure.“

“Friendly staff, the nambawan strain in particular is absolutely exceptional, but all strains I’ve had here have been good quality. Nice chill atmosphere in beautiful and fun SE Portland. Highly recommend for kava lovers and the kava curious. 😊“

“Our large group went here to celebrate Mother's Day. We saw a handful of negative reviews but our server was amazing the environment was perfect for our group with our toddler and food was above average. Also is this economy we feel like we would've been charged more and most places“

“Just as long as you get thier early and you can find a seat, it's a lot better of an experience. Their food is fantastic! And even if you come later, you can scope out ppl leading tables. It's kinda fun, like going to battle. Their is also an outside smoking area where you can bring drinks.
Wheelchair accessibility: It's not wheelchair friendly at all.“

“Ohana in the City of Roses! Street parking is a little tricky if it's busy, but the food and atmosphere make it totally worth it. Food was excellent!“

“808 Grinds was a joy to work with for a catered event. Deej provided excellent communication, customer service, and created a menu for our budget. The food arrived on time and was delicious. I would highly recommend 808 Grinds whether it be for an individual meal or a catered event. Thank you, Deej for a wonderful and easy experience!“

“Man it’s awesome to have a great Hawaiian cart in the area again. I especially appreciate the indo-Asian dishes like the kimchi fried rice. Those cucumbers, I’m afraid to order the large size because I think I would eat them all in one sitting. The Hawaiian fare (shoyu chicken, kalua pork, Mac salad etc) is all spot on too, or I wouldn’t be writing this. Wish it was open more hours…but good enough that we work around that.
Parking: Small lot on the actual property. Street parking in the neighborhood or ride your bike in warmer months.
Wheelchair accessibility: The cart pod has a ADA spot and is accessible“

“A real gem in the university district! Having been to Hawaii and eaten authentic plate lunch I can assure you the other reviews are incorrect. The restaurant is clean and spacious. The food is prepared well, tastes excellent and is priced very reasonably for the large portions. Something hard to find in the area. Another rarity is the owners take the time to get to know their customers. You can expect to be asked if you want "the usual" if you dine more than a few times. It is refreshing to see hard working small business owners still making it work.“

“The food? Amazing. No complaints there. But downtown Portland just isn’t the most comfortable place to hang out anymore — parking’s tough, and the vibe is kind of... off. If Hawaiian Bros opened in Bend or Redmond, I’d be there all the time. The food deserves a better setting.“

“Amazing catering experience. Super great Hawaiian cuisine and the delivery & set up(customer service) was exceptional. BTW, the sauces are super good! If your looking to host a party, don’t miss out on what the Local Grind has to offer.“

“This place is beyond good. The owner make my plate the way he likes it and I’ve been enlightened. The food has always been good. I highly recommend giving this place a try. I recommend letting the owner do his thing and I don’t think anybody would ever be dissatisfied.“

“5 stars because I had a great time, food was amazing and cheap, and I just love a neighborhood dive where I can chill out and get a big fat tiki cocktail. I’ll be back for sure.
I do have to mention though, the service was quick but super rude. The bartender the night we visited a couple weeks back was easily of the least friendly bartenders I’ve ever had, which is saying something. Maybe she was just having an off night. I’m in the industry myself so I totally understand that not every day is your best shift, but my friends and I felt like we were offending her just by being in her presence. It was hard to feel totally comfortable there because of it. She still got 20% because it’s my personal law to never skimp on a tip, but it hurt to leave the cash, I’m not gonna lie.“

“We had dinner this evening, as usual the food and staff were wonderful. What wasn't wonderful was the table of 5 older people who thought they were at home. They were so loud that my partner and I couldn't hear each other. It is a small dining room with no sound absorption, with all the hard surfaces it becomes an echo chamber. Maybe you can put airhorns at each table and those of us who want a great meal without having to listen to people who talk non-stop at the top of their voices, could give a good BLAST! Or a sign that recommends INSIDE VOICES PLEASE!“
