“You can tell this chef is very passionate about cooking. Each dish is plated so beautifully. The menu is seasonal with high end local produce from the farmers market. The staff is very warm. The interior is very nice, with very nice furniture(eg marble or quartz tables, I believe). It’s not inherently the chefs fault, but at this price point, the food is not what we really crave? Also, we were kind of feeling hungry with such a carb light menu. We just split one medium meat dish, so we do eat less protein than average? But I feel like it’s not enough food for vegetarians fyi. They did GRACIOUSLY make us some handmade tortillas off the menu and essentially didn’t charge us. Plus, we received complementary dessert wine tasting, since we complained about wanting some bread or tortillas. One bummer about this was that no one followed up about our request until we asked three different servers. Overall, I think this could be a great place. But just not for us at the moment.“

“Update:
No better birria in southeast Portland! Usually top quality chile relleno, too. Also, sizable portions here - 1 burrito is nearly 2. Got the tinga plate last nite & was very happy.

This is the spot! Used to visit their old tienda in Gresham when the old folks ran it, before they retired. Still good!“

“On Wednesday, we made a detour to Tito’s Taquitos Swan Island in N Portland.
This was a clean, quick and friendly lunch spot located in the Swan Island industrial area. They have indoor and outdoor seating, with lots of parking.
My husband ordered one rib eye taco on blue corn tortilla, one garlic butter shrimp taco and 4 crispy hand-rolled potato filled taquitos topped with braised beef.
They also offered green, red, or habanero sauces.
Each bite has their flavor, texture, components and the balance to satisfy our taste, we love it.“

“This is my FAVORITE food in Portland. I am vegan and their soyrizo tacos are by far the best I’ve ever had. Every time I try other tacos, I’m sorely disappointed because they aren’t Betos tacos. They load them up beautifully and are filling, flavorful, and just absolutely delicious, not to mention they’re fairly priced. I went to a different local taco truck and spent $14 on 3 tacos that barely had any vegetables in them and no gauc or soyrizo. Seriously. If you’re vegan (or not even vegan) and looking for a place to eat in Portland GO HERE.“

“Great food cart for some Mexican food. Menu can be overwhelming but you can always just get the basic mole burrito for under $10.00. Grab a couple sauces for some extra goodness. Plenty of flavor without being overly spicy. Location near Mississippi have a covered eating area.“

“My friend and I chose this place because it said it was open until 10pm. After arriving and getting our food we were informed that they do in fact close at 9pm. Do not be fooled by google like me!
I also was very impressed by the video I saw on the google reviews when I found this restaurant. I just had to make my own.
The service was great! I talked to a very kind server who had a great attitude and made sure that my water glass was full. They even got me a fork to eat the rest of the burrito that fell on my plate.
Would highly recommend this place!“

“This place was great. Really good service, great pupusas, and tasty horchata. Folks working there were really nice and the restaurant seems like a nice place to sit and eat. We ordered for pickup but looking forward to spending more time there!“

“Really solid Mexican food! I tried the Tehuana bowl with chicken (omitted mushrooms) and it was tasty, loaded, and really fresh. I love that they actually add kale/greens AND additional veggies—getting solid veggies at a taco cart can be tough so I was pumped to see this.
The chicken was good—tender and not dry at all. I will definitely try some of the other proteins as well as the options were plentiful. Beans and rice were great too. I liked both the salsas; added some good heat but didn’t overpower the bowl flavors.“

“A super neat little spot located in the Belmont area. The place has some really tasty food and great cocktails. This place has a chill and cozy atmosphere. We each got a couple of tacos and shared the nachos. The meat on the tacos were perfectly seasoned. The drinks were also amazing. I enjoyed their classic margarita, El Jefe, and Chica Fresca (their take on an expresso martini). I am definitely coming back here again.“

“Fast, consistent, friendly, reasonable prices. Good flavors. Good portions of meat. That said, I think you should relabel your “crispy carnitas” as just pork. Carnitas is a very specific thing — more fatty and crispy vs. your drier, leaner pork.“

“Jewan is a visionary, especially in the vegan food scene. If you have the privilege to catch this DAME/Plant-Based-Papi pop-up, do it! This is some of the best ramen you'll ever have, & from one of the nicest & most hard-working dudes in the business. We are cider-people, so simply having the choice between French, Italian, or Spanish ciders would've sold us, regardless of the food on offer (spoiler: it is all wonderful). Would recommend to anyone, vegan or not; this is about FOOD, & it is DELICIOUS.
Vegetarian options: 100% vegan“

“It was okay. The food was decent. Nothing to write home about. I got a 3 tacos plate with rice and beans. Mostly bland, and the sauces were interesting. First time having a Verdé sauce that runny with a very different taste than I used to.
The people working that establishment kept walking by my table 5-6 times every single 2 minutes. To go to the store room nearby or whatever. It was just not a great experience for those looking to have a nice and quiet lunch or dinner it seems like this would not be the place best suited for that desire.
The food was expensive. It cost me near a 20 dollar bill to have lunch including a modest tip and a Jarritos. I asked the gal to open my drink because I didn't see the bottle opener and she just showed me where it was, even though she already had her hands on it, would have given her a better tip if she did it for me like I had asked in the first place. Either way, it reflected my review.
Although it was not horrible, I most likely won't be going back here again unless I need to scratch the Mexican food itch. Maybe there is somewhere near here that is a little better? I'll keep my ears open. I hope this review helps.“

“Love this place. Appropriate that the elevator doesn't take you up until opening hour. It has a very crisp and welcoming look. The greenery makes it so. We wanted rooftop and it was lovely. We arrived early and filled up shortly after. Love the fire inside. Staff is attentive and friendly. Food was great. Would definitely return.“

“Can’t go wrong with the panuchos and salbutes of either cochinita or pollo. The green habanero sauce is my favorite but use sparingly, same as the red. We’ve gotten tamales here and empanadas and they were both tasty as well. Then get some ice cream for dessert!
Parking: Limited parking spots“

“This is my favorite place for a burrito and it’s not even close. The people who run it are friendly, the burrito is huge, and they don’t skimp on the meat. The ingredients are fresh and delicious and the salsas are hot and wonderful. If it were closer to my house I would be there all the time. But it’s good enough that I don’t mind driving 30 minutes from time to time. Brought my wife and kid here today and they both loved it. We also tried a Cabeza taco and it was the best I’ve ever had.
Just saw a one star review someone left a week ago and that person is out of their mind. They have no taste. Ignore them. This place is wonderful.“

“First time visiting this amazing place on Thursday October 17, 2024. I had been following them on instagram and couldn’t wait to try them out. Let me tell you there Fish tacos, Shrimp tacos and Gobernador (Shrimp) are absolutely amazing. Every bite I took it was like I was back in Ensenada, Baja California. I was telling them I am from San Diego and miss the fish tacos from there. If you are in the area you really have to try this place out, super friendly and love the area. I know I will be coming back soon!“

“I ate at Verde Cocina en la Perla while at a work conferencein Portland, Oregon. The food was so delicious that I build my entire birthday around eating there! I live in Olympia, Washington. It is over an hour drive but I will keep doing it every few months. I had Arro as my bartender and server both times. He treats you like FAMILY, and this place IS family owned. I even was introduced to the creator of the Horchata French Toast dish. It is so good I cry happy tears thinking about it. Please visit for brunch and order it, you will NOT be sad about it. I don't even use syrup on the French toast, because the Horchata sauce is so so good on its own. The chillequilles are so so good with eggs OR tofu. Arro was awesome in helping us select desserts...the flan is so dang good, and it is #vegan! My wife and I are #vegetarian, but when I went with a coworker, he said that the meat dishes are "fire." I had a drink both times, first was the mango margarita. Tastes fresh and delicious! Had the perfect amount of tequila but tasted like juice...😈 I have also ordered the Paloma. I can't tell which one is my favorite!!! Anyways, do yourself a favor and order. Trust me.“

“The lady with the big obvious eyebrows NEEDS TO GO!!! I miss the sweet lady that used to work there. She would know us and know our order when we would come in. Now she is gone and we miss her!!! The lady with the big obvious eyebrows doesn't even bother to get to know us or our order and EVERY time she is there the food is poor quality, dry, the limes are dried up and don't have any liquid in them.. she gives us the smallest amount of chips possible and is just making it very hard to enjoy coming here. I said 5 stars for the food because it really is a great little hole in the wall spot to eat. Best al pastor tacos around!!! But I'm going to find out what days that lady doesn't work just so I can go there and enjoy my food from now on because when she works it's clearly not the standard they should be at. Cute little place with ducks all over and next door to some good spots.“

“My adult son and I shared the "two person tasting menu," so got to try everything! The variety and choices were amazing and he declared it one of the best meals he has had, ever. They have a great menu, interesting items, creative cocktails. It is a bit noisy if you are trying to have a conversation, but very manageable.“
