“The pizza is excellent. The owner treated us like we were family. He sent out some of their excellent bread with olive oil while we waited for our pizzas. The pizzas were great and the crust was exceptional. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend and will be returning.“

We ordered the Steak Tacos as well as a Chicken, Bacon, Avocado Wrap. The portions were very filling, and each dish was most excellent; we were almost sorry when we were finished.

The cost for the meals was quite reasonable for the portions and the taste.“

This is the exact opposite experience I’ve had at the Gateway location, which has always been awful. “I've had lunch here several times, and every visit has come with friendly service and consistently good food, so I've always had a positive impression. On top of that, multiple friends have recommended this place, saying they serve some of the best steaks in the area. With those recommendations in mind, we decided to come in for dinner this past weekend and finally give their steaks a try.

We ordered a couple of Avid hard ciders (we were expecting the Blackberry but were served Raspberry instead), the spinach artichoke dip, the stuffed pork chop, and an 8-ounce sirloin cooked medium rare. When we first arrived, the restaurant was surprisingly empty, but as the evening went on it gradually filled with what seemed to be a loyal crowd of regulars.

The hard ciders were enjoyable, even though they weren't the flavor we thought we were ordering. The spinach artichoke dip was definitely a highlight—rich, flavorful, and served with thick, crispy chips that paired perfectly with it.

The entrees were a bit more hit-or-miss. The stuffed pork chop was cooked well but lacked seasoning and flavor. It also came with asparagus instead of the green beans we had been told it included. My sirloin was another mixed experience. I ordered it medium rare, but it arrived well done, which was disappointing, especially since we had come specifically to try one of the steaks we'd heard so much about. That said, the steak itself had great seasoning and a nice flavor—it just would have been much better if it had been cooked to the requested temperature.

Our bartender/server was incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout the meal. The only downside was that they didn't seem completely familiar with the drink selection or some of the menu details, which led to a few surprises during the meal.

Overall, we still enjoyed our visit. The service was warm, the appetizers were excellent, and while the entrees missed the mark in a few areas, the food still had good flavor. Every restaurant has an off night, and based on my previous experiences here, I wouldn't hesitate to come back. I'm looking forward to giving their steaks another chance because I still believe they have the potential to live up to the great reputation so many people have shared.“
