The service and food were great. Serving were generous and neither of us could clean up our choices of the choices.
Only thing that could improve is the accoustics..very noisy and and could be improved.

“I had the Carne Asada taco and a couple of bean vegetarian tacos. When I told him I was interested in a veggie taco with beans, he especially made one for me. Both types of tacos were amazing! I recommend having the slaw On the tacos. The flavor.s Were Really fresh with a lime 🍋‍🟩 accent .
The tacos came with really fresh salsa which was especially flavorful as well..
The Carna Asada Steak tacos, had no gristle in them. This is one of the first times I’ve ever had a Carne.asada taco I liked because there was absolutely no gristle., Just steak.
These were the best Quality street tacos I’ve had in a really long time.
The guy serving was also really nice. And I could tell that he cares about what he creates. I’m so glad I came across this gym, since I really like the WILLAMETTE garage location too..

Vegetarian options: There are one or two options for vegetarians, but I asked for a black bean taco and he made it for me. It was excellent.“

“My wife brought me here for my 70th birthday. She asked, "where would you like to go?" "Surprise me.", I told her. Oh my! My grandmother from Puebla, Mexico would have loved this place. The tortillas were fresh, Handmade! I ordered the Pozole. Oh so rich and fragrant and bustling with pork, hominy and a very wonderful broth. Did I mention the tortillas?? Oh Lord!! I plan to bring my three adult children here for my son's birthday. I plan to eat my way through the menu, over the course of the next year or so. I can see that there are many others who love this place. The entire time we were having dinner, there was a steady stream of people coming in for takeout. Yep, this is a gem of a restaurant. “I ate at Verde Cocina en la Perla while at a work conferencein Portland, Oregon. The food was so delicious that I build my entire birthday around eating there! I live in Olympia, Washington. It is over an hour drive but I will keep doing it every few months. I had Arro as my bartender and server both times. He treats you like FAMILY, and this place IS family owned. I even was introduced to the creator of the Horchata French Toast dish. It is so good I cry happy tears thinking about it. Please visit for brunch and order it, you will NOT be sad about it. I don't even use syrup on the French toast, because the Horchata sauce is so so good on its own. The chillequilles are so so good with eggs OR tofu. Arro was awesome in helping us select desserts...the flan is so dang good, and it is #vegan! My wife and I are #vegetarian, but when I went with a coworker, he said that the meat dishes are "fire." I had a drink both times, first was the mango margarita. Tastes fresh and delicious! Had the perfect amount of tequila but tasted like juice...😈 I have also ordered the Paloma. I can't tell which one is my favorite!!! Anyways, do yourself a favor and order. Trust me.“

“You can tell this chef is very passionate about cooking. Each dish is plated so beautifully. The menu is seasonal with high end local produce from the farmers market. The staff is very warm. The interior is very nice, with very nice furniture(eg marble or quartz tables, I believe). It’s not inherently the chefs fault, but at this price point, the food is not what we really crave? Also, we were kind of feeling hungry with such a carb light menu. We just split one medium meat dish, so we do eat less protein than average? But I feel like it’s not enough food for vegetarians fyi. They did GRACIOUSLY make us some handmade tortillas off the menu and essentially didn’t charge us. Plus, we received complementary dessert wine tasting, since we complained about wanting some bread or tortillas. One bummer about this was that no one followed up about our request until we asked three different servers. Overall, I think this could be a great place. But just not for us at the moment.“

“The lady with the big obvious eyebrows NEEDS TO GO!!! I miss the sweet lady that used to work there. She would know us and know our order when we would come in. Now she is gone and we miss her!!! The lady with the big obvious eyebrows doesn't even bother to get to know us or our order and EVERY time she is there the food is poor quality, dry, the limes are dried up and don't have any liquid in them.. she gives us the smallest amount of chips possible and is just making it very hard to enjoy coming here. “Absolutely the best customer service I’ve ever had. Everyone is so welcoming, attentive, kind, and quick. The food is some of the best Mexican food I’ve found in Portland. Don’t skip the house habanero and verde sauce. I bought some of the habanero for home immediately and would suggest anyone visiting do the same.
The atmosphere is also absolutely beautiful. Chile rellanos are made correctly (yum!) which is so hard to find here. The margaritas are delicious!“

Got a hash brown burrito with chorizo instead.
Burrito is decent, big, very big, but simple, lots of hash brown inside, cheese and chorizo.
I was planning to give a mid review but the salsas made up for the mid burrito, salsa is where it's at.
Make sure to take some on your way out.
Got to try more things from them I guess before I make my mind but it's not a bad place to refuel“
