“We had dinner at Planchette yesterday in celebration of Father’s Day. In addition to my husband and myself, our daughter, son in law, and two adult grandsons shared the meal. The food was absolutely the best we’ve had in a very long time. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. The staff was wonderful too. Everyone knows it’s been very difficult getting and keeping staff since the pandemic hit. It’s a shame the folks that complained so bitterly about having to wait did not take this fact into consideration. We’d heartily recommend this restaurant for a fine dining experience.“

“I must say that I haven't been to Sid Booker's for over 10 years. But as everything else has changed the shrimp and macaroni salad are still good. The lady that takes your order is very friendly and they have quick service. I will be back.“

“Our first time at Blue Olive was to celebrate a birthday and it didn't disappoint. The fusion of Mediterranean/Tunisian/Greek food was nothing short if spectacular. The service was incredibly friendly and gracious and the ambiance charming. We started with hot appetizers of roasted artichokes, pan fried Halloumi cheese, Spanakopita and an evening special hummus with spiced, minced lamb served with warm pita. All so delicious we were tempted to forego our main courses of moussaka, lamb kebab and delicious lemon/caper cod served over a bed of roasted root vegetable. Desserts, celebrated with a happy birthday candle on a scrumptious chocolate/hazelnut cake , walnut baklava and Turkish coffee made the evening complete. This BYOB gem is a culinary find and we will be going back soon.“

“I tried this place out on a whim for a lunch break and the food was great and I enjoyed what I ate. Normally I'm used to Mediterranean food being overcooked especially when it comes to chicken, but their chicken tender from the plate I ordered was really moist and the flavoring and seasoning was just right that I didn't need to sauce it out even though it was there on the side. Our server was really nice and attentive as well. The inside of the restaurant is really nice and enjoy the option to eat out at the balcony facing the lively intersection of Magnolia St and Trask Ave. Although the parking is probably hogged up by the car shop, you can find parking out on the north side of Magnolia St along the right side facing northbound. The point where the fire lane ends is not far from the restaurant and the walk to the restaurant is doable. If you're worried about battling the northbound traffic of Magnolia to get out of your car, you can drive a bit further and park in the nearby neighborhood. I got marked up pictures showing you where you can go. It'd be a five minute walk if you were to park in the neighborhood. I put up pictures marking out where this extra parking is. My suggestion is to come in from the South side going northbound of Magnolia St. or come in from the East side going westbound from Trask Ave.

But yeah to the folks that work out here in Garden Grove, you should give this place a try during your lunch break 💯. They got a lunch break special.“

“We got the pork buns, chicken on a stick, handmade pork and cabbage dumplings and general Tao’s chicken. The food was delicious. The pork buns are especially good. The service was fast. I would definitely recommend this place. The price is good.“

“Once you get over the area you are in for some great food. This place brought back childhood memories how good everything was on the menu. The fried chicken wings are delicious but not like the Chinese store wing its way better. Fried fish amazing no matter what type. I order 10 items for a family taste test and not one item was disliked by my family or myself. Can’t go wrong, you just have to order before 2:30 because when they sell out they close.“

There were a group of patrons at the bar who spoke to us when we entered letting me know this was neighborhood and friendly place. Carrie the bartender/waitress was absolutely amazing. The menu had an array of different seafood dishes. I got a large size of crab legs that were so fresh, my husband got the crab bites, fried fish, and carrot cake also absolutely delicious. My older parents and I were looking for a place to eat (and having a tough time finding one!); finally we saw that Ekta was open, though we then discovered that it was due to close in 40 minutes. I am deeply grateful to our server, Owen, for never making us feel like we were inconveniencing the staff by arriving so close to closing, and for going out of his way to help my mom (who has limited mobility) to navigate the steps both when we arrived and when we left. He situated us at a table just next to the door, which was even more helpful. As for the food itself, my dad was delighted with his garlic kabob, and I really enjoyed the Chandrakala (first time I'd ever encountered these dried-fruit-and-coconut dumplings) and our bread selections (Lachha Paratha and Ekta Naan, the latter kind of an adaptation of the Peshawari Naan concept but with black sesame seeds included). My mom and I both guzzled our delicious lassis (mango and pomegranate). Though toned down at our request, the Alu Gobi was still a bit spicy for me, but tasty nonetheless.“

“We have been buying Dominican food from Rancho for the last 3 years. Be it for special occasions, pick up, dine in, small and large portions and we have never been disappointed. The food is delicious and authentic Dominican, service is friendly, price is reasonable. We ordered our 2020 Christmas dinner and it was all we expected, arroz con gandules to die for, the pernil excellent as usual, sweet plantains perfectly fried.
