“We had dinner at Planchette yesterday in celebration of Father’s Day. In addition to my husband and myself, our daughter, son in law, and two adult grandsons shared the meal. The food was absolutely the best we’ve had in a very long time. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. The staff was wonderful too. Everyone knows it’s been very difficult getting and keeping staff since the pandemic hit. It’s a shame the folks that complained so bitterly about having to wait did not take this fact into consideration. We’d heartily recommend this restaurant for a fine dining experience.“

“The lady at the window is always nice! The Shrimp were good, of course. What I will say is, they are not the same size they used to be. Maybe because of the economy, understandably. I would pay for larger Sid Booker shrimps tho. The coleslaw was so good, kept simple, classic and fresh. Not fond of the fries. They've been better. Idk how to explain it. They are crispy but nothing is in the middle no soft potato, like a shell of a fry. Overall Philly staple shrimp place!“

“Our first time at Blue Olive was to celebrate a birthday and it didn't disappoint. The fusion of Mediterranean/Tunisian/Greek food was nothing short if spectacular. The service was incredibly friendly and gracious and the ambiance charming. We started with hot appetizers of roasted artichokes, pan fried Halloumi cheese, Spanakopita and an evening special hummus with spiced, minced lamb served with warm pita. All so delicious we were tempted to forego our main courses of moussaka, lamb kebab and delicious lemon/caper cod served over a bed of roasted root vegetable. Desserts, celebrated with a happy birthday candle on a scrumptious chocolate/hazelnut cake , walnut baklava and Turkish coffee made the evening complete. This BYOB gem is a culinary find and we will be going back soon.“

“I tried this place out on a whim for a lunch break and the food was great and I enjoyed what I ate. Normally I'm used to Mediterranean food being overcooked especially when it comes to chicken, but their chicken tender from the plate I ordered was really moist and the flavoring and seasoning was just right that I didn't need to sauce it out even though it was there on the side. Our server was really nice and attentive as well. The inside of the restaurant is really nice and enjoy the option to eat out at the balcony facing the lively intersection of Magnolia St and Trask Ave. Although the parking is probably hogged up by the car shop, you can find parking out on the north side of Magnolia St along the right side facing northbound. The point where the fire lane ends is not far from the restaurant and the walk to the restaurant is doable. If you're worried about battling the northbound traffic of Magnolia to get out of your car, you can drive a bit further and park in the nearby neighborhood. I got marked up pictures showing you where you can go. It'd be a five minute walk if you were to park in the neighborhood. I put up pictures marking out where this extra parking is. My suggestion is to come in from the South side going northbound of Magnolia St. or come in from the East side going westbound from Trask Ave.

But yeah to the folks that work out here in Garden Grove, you should give this place a try during your lunch break 💯. They got a lunch break special.“

“We stopped here for lunch on our way somewhere else because of the intriguing name. Boy was that a lucky coincidence. Service was attentive although, to be fair, there were only 4 people dining in.
The food was absolutely fantastic. The cold sesame noodles did not have the gloppy sauce one finds in most places. Instead, the noodles were dressed in sesame oil. Similarly, the roast pork buns were not the overly sweetened pork they use elsewhere. We also got the pumpkin dumplings that were out of this world. Finally we had the General Tsao's Tofu that remarkably remained crispy despite the sauce.“

“This place is a hidden gem. The atmosphere made me feel like I was at home. There were a group of patrons at the bar who spoke to us when we entered letting me know this was neighborhood and friendly place. Carrie the bartender/waitress was absolutely amazing. The menu had an array of different seafood dishes. I got a large size of crab legs that were so fresh, my husband got the crab bites, fried fish, and carrot cake also absolutely delicious. The price was very affordable with our order and drinks and a couple of take out items that we wanted to take home to try that definitely makes this place a return visit. My older parents and I were looking for a place to eat (and having a tough time finding one!); finally we saw that Ekta was open, though we then discovered that it was due to close in 40 minutes. I am deeply grateful to our server, Owen, for never making us feel like we were inconveniencing the staff by arriving so close to closing, and for going out of his way to help my mom (who has limited mobility) to navigate the steps both when we arrived and when we left. He situated us at a table just next to the door, which was even more helpful. As for the food itself, my dad was delighted with his garlic kabob, and I really enjoyed the Chandrakala (first time I'd ever encountered these dried-fruit-and-coconut dumplings) and our bread selections (Lachha Paratha and Ekta Naan, the latter kind of an adaptation of the Peshawari Naan concept but with black sesame seeds included). My mom and I both guzzled our delicious lassis (mango and pomegranate). Though toned down at our request, the Alu Gobi was still a bit spicy for me, but tasty nonetheless.“

“Once you get over the area you are in for some great food. This place brought back childhood memories how good everything was on the menu. The fried chicken wings are delicious but not like the Chinese store wing its way better. Fried fish amazing no matter what type.
