“I love The Dog Penn for so many reasons. It's a safe dog park (vax requirements and scamp counselors), the owners are community minded (work with local businesses and rescues), and the atmosphere is incredible. Last night, I got a flat tire when I was leaving The Dog Penn. The owners did not hesitate to come outside and help me (well😅 being honest, do it for me) change my tire. They taught me a few things about my car and made sure I was safe to get on the road. Beyond the many things I love about the venue itself, I love the ownership and the way they love and take care of their community. If you haven't had a chance to check this place out yet, you absolutely have to!“

“Came from 2 hours away for a comedy show.
I love that you can reserve seating. I love that it's rows of chairs instead of tables. It was a little hot for me, but I run hot. The drinks were reasonable and delivered to our seats with the use of a QR code! The atmosphere is vintage awesome. I would totally be a member if I lived closer.
Parking is on the difficult side, but we were able to find a decent spot.“

I went recently to see Sacred Monsters who were in town from Philly. It was the lead singer, KP’s birthday and we wanted to do something special for her. Long story short, Toy is amazing. Not only did she help with the surprise but she… on her own… ordered cupcakes for KP since I couldn’t find a cake that met her dietary restrictions. She was so helpful and enthusiastic about helping. I can’t wait to go back.“

One of the best parts was the drinks. They were very affordable 🍹 and the pours were definitely generous, which is always a nice surprise. The cocktails were made well and tasted great, so they definitely did not disappoint.

I also heard from a few people that their chicken is really good, so that’s something I’m planning to try the next time I visit 🍗. If it’s as good as the drinks, I’m sure it’ll be worth it!

“Four points has quickly moved into our favorite brewery to visit in the city. We haven’t had a beer we don’t like and the bartenders have been incredible each time, so kind! Also have appreciated that they’ve been family friendly. “We won a gift certificate from my favorite non-profit, Hilltop Horizons.org I didn't know I liked Cider until we stopped at the Brewery at Soergels in Wexford. We tasted several samples before we ordered a growler that was perfect for 2 of us. We sat inside as it was a bit windy that day. There is great outside seating as well. There were board games available to play and great views of the farm. We tried the sorbet on the way out. It was delicious!! We also picked up a 6 pack to enjoy later. This would be a great place for family fun or just for 2. I love to find local small businesses that support each other and the community! We will definitely be back.“

You've found it...at the R BAR... 5 mins. from downtown(avoid rush hour) The owner is a semi-retired musician..and his wife besides being a "Hottie" LOL..Is the salt of the earth...If you make it there on Sundays..You'll find one of the best"Bloody Mary's" around...and a 6 piece band called "The Midnight Horns" who all lead their own bands doing the week,but come together at the R BAR to roar..(Jazz,R@B,Blues)..I must also mention 2 of the best bartenders around..Toni and Billy.will treat you like family...So why not give the R BAR 5 stars? Only because of it's size,and no food..however a Pizza parlor opened next door with a wide variety of treats...good enough to feed those Boilermakers..from the R BAR...“

The service and atmosphere alone is worth the visit. Everyone is so friendly.
But the food here is top notch. I came here every day of my trip for a snack or a drink.

It's a short menu, but they seem to do everything right.

“Garvey's is a fantastic place nestled in Southside slopes.We stumbled upon when we were walking from the slopes to the flats. Bartender James was a lot of fun. They don't serve food but you can order in. I showed up with my whole football crew and we brought snacks and sandwiches. Felt just like tailgate! They have a fun bowling game in the back room. We also bought Garvey's Tshirts and hoodies. What a blast“

“We had a rental place down on Sycamore and we stopped here for a evening of libations and pool table fun 🤩 the bartender was great and the drinks and service were excellent. Don’t hesitate to stop here a great Pittsburgh Bar. We stopped here several more times during our stay. Also good bar food. A cash only establishment“
