“Such a cute spot with amazing coffee! I have grabbed to go coffee from here quite a few times and it doesn’t disappoint. Anything from drip to a cappuccino has been amazing. It is a little bit on the pricier side but the tip is included and the staff is always nice (I don’t mind paying extra for quality coffee)!
The space is quite small (2-3 tables) so I would recommend taking to go unless you’re lucky enough to snag a table (it is full particularly in the mornings). I can tell there are dedicated regulars who go here and I can see why!“

“Of the many coffee shops in Old City, this is one of my favorites. It has some of the best matcha I've ever had and I love their flavors. Ive heard equally as good things about their coffee. Their butter crossaint is unreal good and generally theyre comparably priced to the area. They also have an awesome patio area where I sat with my furry son for a bit, really great spot overall.“

“Yet another hidden gem in Philly. I came in for the first time today by chance and immediately felt so so so welcomed into the space. It is much smaller of a space than Madis Coffee Roasters (Twisted Grounds has only a few small tables to sit), but the staff is equally as kind, friendly, talkative, and enjoyable to be around. You can quickly tell that the team here has a great rapport with each other, and it makes the atmosphere comfortable and fun to be in. They have super cute merch and engaging conversations. I'm excited for this to be one of my regular haunts in Philly. The manager runs this place like a well-oiled machine.“

“I’ve walked by this spot so many times, and it seemed every time I was hungry they were closed (closed on weekends) but today I finally stepped in. I ordered 2 bánh mìs and a Vietnamese coffee. Pete, the owner/operator of the spot was the only one there and we instantly jumped into great conversation about the music scene in Philly back in the late 90s. We ended up knowing a lot of the same people. Philly is a tight knit group. So even before eating the food I was already a fan of this spot. Pete served me his special take on Vietnamese coffee while we talked and he made the sandwiches. The iced coffee was excellent, but different and less sweet than Vietnamese coffee I’ve had in the past. He also used ice cubes made of coffee which was an added bonus for a coffee junkie like myself. After we talked for nearly 20 min, I walked home with my sandwich and WOW! Such a solid bánh mì! I told him to make it like he would make it for himself (spicy) and he knocked it out of the park. I’ll be back and I’ll be bringing all my music friends here when they are in the neighborhood. I highly encourage Olde City residents as well as Philly locals to give this place a try!“

“I stopped by Coffee Malem on a trip to South Jersey. It was a lovely experience. The owner, Malem, was very welcoming and helped me to figure out which drink would be most catered to my taste. I ended up getting a specialty latte that was a mix of a pistachio latte and Spanish latte. Not only were the ingredients of the flavors top tier, the coffee itself was high quality and delicious. I will definitely be back here on every single trip down south, and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area. You won't regret it!“

“Ive been here several times, always amazing quality food! The Ethiopian food is really well spiced and tender meat, lots of vegetarian options too. Smoothies, great coffee, and some simple wraps and sandwiches as well. Friendly staff, fun atmosphere. Nice to eat in but also casual enough to chill if youre coming by yourself. Huge portions, I usually take leftovers. Super close to Rittenhouse Square!“

A little bit of a walk from the theater but well worth it for a date night out. Careful with the stairs and it’s narrow when walking between tables, but to me this just elevated the coziness of it all. We will definitely come again!“

Try the pistachio banana crepe, fresh bananas, not sickly pistachio spread and good size. Only negative - crepe was a little dry. Overall I did not feel terrible after eating it.

“This is hands down the best coffee shop in NoLibs. We discovered it over a year ago and have been going at least once a week ever since. I rarely get matcha out because so few places actually use good quality matcha and make it properly, but CNT does all of the above. They have monthly rotating flavor specials for coffee and matcha that are always incredible and made from scratch. The shop is also super dog friendly and our pup literally drags us down the street to go there anytime we are nearby.“

“I lived in Seattle for almost two decades and will admit to being a bit of a coffee shop snob. The Nook hits so many of my high points. Extremely good locally roasted coffee (in-house!). “Tiny cafe with two very hard working staff. It was a bit of a wait for my coffee and avocado toast but well worth it. The avocado toast was truly beautiful with the caprese garnishes but would have crossed the line into exceptional with some finishing salt. Dining in is limited to a narrow bar and two small outdoor tables but it is a short walk to Rittenhouse square.“

Coffee was SO good. Ridic. What took me away was their breakfast sammie. Made with REAL eggs, their roll, so good and that sausage - wow. Will be back. Great intro to the area.“

“A genuinely great coffee experience. I visited this establishment multiple times over the course of several months. I love lattes and checking out new places. If I have a good experience, I'll frequent the establishment more. That said, Vessel Coffee delivers quality cafe food and tricks, as well as quality service.

The atmosphere is very calm (tall, large windows and spacious seating), inside is mostly clean (though there were times tables still needed to be wiped down after previous use), and the staff is warm, welcoming and polite. They're not in a rush nor do they look like they hate their jobs (that said, patrons, remember to be patient and respectful as well). The actual drinks are well made. They have gluten free options for the sensitive although these aren't house-made. I loved the GF lemon blueberry scones.

Definitely check out this hidden gem if you want to enjoy a cup of coffee with great staff and a good environment. Though I no longer live in Philly, this will definitely be a place I'd recommend to anyone that wants coffee and a hospitable experience.
