“This is absolutely one of the two best falafel places in Philadelphia.
One thing you need to know - either come when it’s busy and the falafel always gets out of the oil or ask for fresh, out-of-the-oil falafel.
The difference between a hot super fresh falafel and falafel that sat till cooled down is huge.
One more thing I wish they’d do is to keep their pita bread in a humidifier - to keep them moist, fresh and elastic.
No photos this time because it disappeared in 2 second - I really missed a falafel this good.
Also, the add-ons are amazing, the eggplant, the salad, the tahini - it’s all so good.“

“We came across this place while we were in Philly last month,July. We were looking for a place to dine. It was our first time with Mediterranean cuisine. Positive ambience as soon as we walk in, our server ‘s name ELIF ( hope i remember it right)guided as through with menu selection and showed the best costumer service . I appreciated the complimentary bread and the hummus while waiting for the entree.I love the taste of it as freshly baked from the oven. Food portions are just right. The price is also decent. We concluded with a Turkey tea…it amazingly taste good. Will definitely visit this place again….to Elif,thank you very much.“

“We celebrated our 21st anniversary at Chef Max’s counter on a Friday night. Words cannot describe how amazing the experience is at the chefs counter. There is so much love and art put into every meal. Not only is the food amazing and taste out of this world, the experience watching the process is equally entertaining. “I grew up on homemade Middle Eastern food made daily by my parents, so I’m very picky when it comes to authenticity. I’ve tried a few places that just didn’t hit the mark—but AL SHAM in Chalfont is a straight 10/10!! They serve real Arabic bread (pita)—not tortillas disguised as pita like you find at other places—and their homemade Lebanese toum (garlic aioli) is the real deal. One bite of their falafel wrap instantly transported me to a boardwalk in Lebanon, overlooking the Mediterranean—complete with fresh bread, Lebanese pickles, and those perfect pickled turnips. The meat is 100% Halal and you can taste the quality. Flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. **This is the kind of spot you want to support. We’ll be back again and again—do yourself a favor and try them ASAP**“

“We had booked Veda for our daughter's wedding welcome dinner on 5/3/24. The whole process from the time we contacted them till we had our function was smooth. They were very accommodating to our requirements and went beyond our expectations. If you are looking to have a large gathering I will definitely recommend doing a buyout. We decided on the menu and then we were guests at our own dinner. It is full service. The ambience was good and our guests enjoyed both the food and their awesome selection of cocktails. Gaurav Bhardwaj and Brazil provided excellent service. Did I mention Food? Very Good and Flavorful. We are from Delhi and big foodies, and I must tell you that they superseded our expectations. The décor is very pleasant and we didn't need to do anything additional They provided us two stations for our henna ladies. Our function was a big hit. Check them out for your next baby shower, engagement, birthday function!!!!!“

“I tried the salta here — and it was great — but the lamb Fahsa? Oh my god. Absolutely incredible. Perfectly seasoned, rich, and so filling. The bread portion was exactly what it should be: generous enough to fully enjoy the dish the way it’s meant to be eaten.
As a non-Yemeni Middle Easterner, this was my first real experience with Yemeni food, and I was blown away. I was so impressed that I later tried a Fahsa at another Yemeni spot just to compare — and it wasn’t even close to what I had here.
The atmosphere here is phenomenal, but not in the overdone, “look at our décor” kind of way. They don’t rely on flashy visuals or gimmicks — you walk in, order your food, sit down, and the focus is entirely on the food and the experience. That’s how you know a place is truly good.
The service was also top-notch — friendly, attentive, and genuine. You really can’t get any better than that.
