“Came here for lunch with a friend and had a great time. Our server was warm and attentive throughout, checked in at the right moments and gave genuinely helpful suggestions when we were deciding what to order.

Started with the clam chowder, rich, well seasoned, good chunks of clam, perfect for a lunch starter. For mains, the halibut was cooked perfectly, flaky and moist. The shrimp was also excellent, fresh without being overcooked.

Great food, easy conversation, friendly service, perfect spot for a relaxed lunch with a friend. Will definitely be back.“

“We had dinner this evening at the Water Shed Pub. What an enjoyable evening!!!! The appetizer we started with was the karaage chicken. I can’t explain how the flavors come together for this dynamic appetizer but, Wow! It was fantastic!!! Our entrees of the scallop po boy…..( yum!!! )…… and the seafood enchiladas……. ( oh my goodness!!! ). …were delightful!! So, so delicious!!!! Sweet potato pie and pumpkin cheesecake ice cream were an amazing ending to a superb meal!!! We’ll definitely be back soon! There’s lots more on the menu that we can’t wait to try!!!“

“Ate dinner there about a week ago. Food was good but their telephone rang at top volume the entire time we were there making it difficult to talk or enjoy our meal. Complained to waitress who said it had to be that way so they could hear in the back for take out orders. The restaurant was far from busy for in house dining so I guess the owner doesn't care about us; only the take out customers! I have eaten here for years and tried to support them during covid but never again.“

“Food: The food (for the most part, there are a couple of items on the menu I'm personally not a big fan of) is pretty good & comes in nice big serving sizes (again, for the most part).

Price: It's generally about the same price or a bit cheaper (depending on what you get) as most fast food restaurants, except this is a diner/cafe & you are getting a decent bit more food per dollar.

Building/ Parking: It's a pretty tiny building with pretty limited parking (you can always find some parking somewhere nearby), but it's clean & decently maintained.

Staff: They're cool people, nothing extraordinary, but also nothing bad I've experienced so far (I've been several times).

Overall: This place is pretty good. If you are looking for breakfast (or potentially lunch) in Middletown, (from my experience) either here or the Brownstone Cafe are your best options (If you have a big party like 6+, I'd probably go to the brownstone, but just 1-4, here is really nice & there's typically not much of any wait like the Brownstone).

“Gilligans in Colonial Park has the Best Real crab cakes. I had a Christmas lunch with a friend. I enjoyed my food so much that two days later, I called and ordered a to go crab cake dinner lol. Service and atmosphere also great.“

I had breakfast with scrapple (I know it’s not healthy, but I just love the taste :-) ), and the waitress checked in on us often, just to see if we needed anything else or wanted more coffee—that’s what I call excellent service. When we visit our friends in Halifax again, we’ll be happy to come back.

“Bills takes me back to a time when I was a young child. It's a beautiful old restaurant. The staff are fantastic, especially the older lady who waited on us. She said she was the waitress there from the time it was opened, many years ago. Food is fantastic! We always went for the breakfast, which came quick and was always delicious! Pricing is very reasonable. The only thing that I would change is, you have to pay cash, no cards. But, I did say it took me back. Thanks Bill, great job!“

“This was our first time there. We were a little hestitate because of the pricing of the entrees, but very very pleased with the food and the waiter was exceptional . His name was Wes. The absolute only thing I did not like was our table. It was plastered up against the wall, absolutely no scenery what so ever. I would have loved one of the many other tables in the restaurant. “Much better food and set up than previous restaurant in that space. Has three different restaurants and a bar there. The bar is one if the best in Grantville with a large selection of local and craft beers on tap. Plus they have a pretty good whiskey selection“

“12/11/25 WARNING: This review is being written 1 year (to the day) AFTER our experience with Duke's. That's how strongly I feel about this restaurant. We had our son's wedding rehearsal dinner here. There were over 40 people in attendance & every single person said the same thing, "they knocked it outta the park!" The food was amazing, the staff was incredibly kind, even tending to a few extra needs with our older family members. As if that wasn't enough to "sell you" on the place, we got a call from them on our way back to the hotel, that we needed to come back because of a discrepancy with the bill. Having had an open bar for so many hours, for that many people, we really had no idea what the bill should have been, we just paid it....IN CASH! They called & had us come back because we OVER paid... by more than $1000! That type of honesty needs to be recognized. Anyone on staff, or the owners, could have kept quiet & we would never have been any the wiser, but they called as soon as they realized their error. If this place were closer, there's no doubt we would be regulars here!!! We loved everything about our experience & look forward to making the trip to the area just to go to Duke's.
