“Visiting from NC and my friend says we are going to have "the best" birria tacos...walked in as they opened, were greeted and served by Beyonce. Great little place...clean, bright and welcoming.
The food....beef empanada and queso birria tacos with consume....ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! the empanada was crispy, meaty and served with a delish sauce. The tacos were PACKED with meat, had incredible flavor and the consume....well lets just say ...can I get a consume IV....truly THE BEST I've ever had.“

“Our go-to place for 16 years. Great staff and consistent quality of food. House salad is great and so are their burgers but the Dallas Filet is my favorite. Manager is very attentive to any issues and will always go above and beyond to make sure you are satisified.“

“This is our go-to place for Mexican takeout in Kennett Square. We regularly get the special meat burrito with lomo (seasoned shredded pork), burrito with asada, and chicken quesadilla. The huaraches and enchiladas are also really good. All meals come with a ton of food. They give you little hot sauce containers and limes to go with your meal. There’s a small eating area where you often find people dining, but we typically to takeout because we order during the week and the food travels well. They’re always really quick when we call; about 15 minutes and the food is ready.

The owner is almost always the one who answers the phone and greets you when you come in. You can tell that he cares about his restaurant and making his customers happy, and you can feel good that you’re supporting a small local business, not a big chain. (If you happen to be helped by someone other than the owner, like a moody teen, don’t let it put you off).

The prices are reasonable, especially considering how much food you get.

One note: PAY CASH or you’ll be charged a credit card fee that they don’t even tell you about. This is the one complaint I have about this place. I know that many businesses are now doing this, but there are no signs in the restaurant warning of this fee and if you tell them you’re paying by card, they type a higher amount into the credit card machine without telling you.

The small parking lot could definitely be repaved and the building looks a little iffy in its lighting and placement among car repair shops and an apartment construction site, but it all adds to the feeling that you’ve found a hidden gem.

Parking: Not too many spots, but I’ve never found it totally full. Pavement is bumpy with lots of holes.“

The owners at the Sovana must have taken great care in hiring, training, and maintaining their staff. Brendan, the manager, and Even, our server, took every available measure to ensure that our two person party was given a dining experience that would become one of our greatest. We came for the charcuterie boards and nothing was left to chance. Each component was fresh, proportionate, and expertly paired with just the right additions. The pickled carrots quickly my favorite. The number of cheese options was unmatched! I have had boards in and out of the country, but I’ve never come across a menu with so many options, cheese variations, and or customizable side boards. By the time we left, Brendan had welcomed us into the Sovana Family, Even had filled our bellies with a meal to cry over, and on the drive home my husband and I planned our next visit. This experience will become a recurring part of our self care.“

When she arrived she was greeted by the friendly and kind Miss Mabel herself. Mabel was accommodating, personable, and went above and beyond for our order. Now, the food that Mabel cooked was quite literally some of the best bbq I've had in years. I ate a shameful amount of ribs (perfectly cooked), and washed it down with delicious collared greens. Mabel's will 100% be my new bbq spot now and forever.“

next to a door that was constantly being opened to the outside world and it blasted cold air at me.

They also tried to charge me $29.99 for this “lobster” roll (and I use that term loosely). You can’t in good conscience tell me that this coleslaw concoction is more than 5% lobster. It’s potato chips and coleslaw on a tiny hot dog bread.

The burgers are solid.“
