“A Heartfelt Reflection on Professionalism & Respect I believe in supporting local establishments and building community wherever I go. When I walk into a space, I come with kindness, respect, and the intention to simply enjoy good company and a welcoming atmosphere. Recently, I’ve experienced a shift in service that left me feeling uncomfortable and dismissed. What once felt warm and inviting has become cold and unprofessional through eye-rolling, dismissive responses, and careless service. Respect should never depend on how often someone visits, who they are, or what they look like — professionalism is the standard, not the exception. As patrons, we notice the small things — tone, body language, and how we are treated when we walk through the door. Establishments should remember that every guest is observing, every interaction matters, and every moment reflects the character of the business. My hope is simple: that businesses remain mindful of how staff attitudes shape the entire experience. Because you never know who is sitting in your seats, and you never know who is quietly witnessing the level of professionalism being offered. Respect is remembered. Kindness is remembered. And so is the absence of both. let me add the food is delicious. I have no other reservations but for the one barmaid jess was my barmaid. February 7th time is 1:46 p.m.“
“The beers were unique and the wait staff were really friendly. While they didn't not serve food the food truck on site had really good food. I never knew this place existed but now that I do, I will definitely add it to the rotation of places I go.“

“Best ice cream shop in Pittsburgh. Huge milkshakes for reasonable prices. They don't skimp on the ice cream. Their tornadoes are amazing - get them with extra toppings. The turtle sundae is also great; the caramel they use is so good. All their portions are massive and reasonably priced.“

“Visited this morning for the first time. Got egg and cheese sandwiches, one croissant one ciabatta - both were amazing!! The lattes were delicious and rich. You can really taste the quality of the espresso. They were short staffed (1 employee who was grinding hard!) so I did wait about 25 minutes for two coffees and sandwiches. I didn’t mind that much and it was well worth the wait. Can’t wait to go back!“

“Dobra Tea Pittsburgh is more than a tea shop—it's a sensory retreat. The ritualistic, immersive approach to tea making, along with plush, globally influenced surroundings, make this spot feel like a hidden corner of the world right here in Pittsburgh.
Ideal for tea lovers eager to explore, solo visitors wanting a quiet nook, or friends looking for shared solace over conversation and flavor. Yes, it gets busy—and yes, that sometimes means a slightly slower experience—but for many, the quality and depth of the tea experience make it more than worth the wait. The Purple Bubble tea was outstanding with Blueberry puree as add on to it, it’s a must try I would say.
Whether you're a devoted tea nerd or a casual sipper, Dobra Tea delivers an unmatched oasis in the city—bring a book, bring a friend.“

“I have a matcha problem and I really enjoyed the matcha ice cream here. Levels 2 and 3 were great but I’m sure that level 1 is good too! Good customer service as well. I also liked that there were non-matcha flavors available for my non-matcha consuming companions.“

“This small, anemic twist of dough with a little cup of cheese sauce was $8. Disgusting and absurd. The drinks are solid, but the food here is horrendous. Pizza is so-so, veggie soup is nearly inedible, pickled veggies are bitter and mushy, “pretzels” are clearly not alkali washed and underbaked.
Lovely outdoor space, it’s a shame the food is so awful. Go here for drinks, but get dinner elsewhere.“

“Friendly staff and THE best iced coffee I’ve ever had. I’m hooked on their iced mocha. Their iced lavender white mocha is also a treat. They have a rewards program that I’m excited to take advantage of and the cafe itself has a cozy atmosphere. Great place to read a book. 10/10 every time.“

“A tried and true neighborhood gem. Where else can you get veggie or turkey dogs custom topped Your Way? And being able to peruse the Beer Cave for just the right microbrew or rare import makes this an easy choice for an affordable dinner out, with friends, or solo at the bar where the bartenders take good care of you.“

“Amazing sicilian pizza--delicious garlic-y sauce and crust with perfectly melted cheese. Also, if you're Type A, you'll love the Topping-Slice pricing matrix on the big screen. The prices are so good you'll be leaving happy even if its not your favorite pie, but I'm willing to bet you'll love it. What a gem at the Junction!“

“Pretty crazy backstory, but I had never been here before and my aunt won a contest to have a beer created and named after her rabbit.
We had a fairly large group there on release day, and the service was friendly and awesome.
I was particularly fond of their steel city lager, but the custom beer they made for my aunt was actually quite good. It was a cran-apple lager (which usually isn't my thing) but this one was quite drinkable.
The set-up in the back was quite picturesque. We were there in Mid-November, but I still found myself outside quite a bit enjoying the river views.
They had a partnership with a Kazak-guy in the kitchen who was another very nice fellow. I got his chicken parm sandwhich and it was 5 stars in itself. He came out and talked to us - Do not sleep on the food here.
I'm usually never in Verona, but this place in itself is a great reason to come back. It was a great day.“

“I was visiting Pittsburgh one weekend and I came across Blue Monkey Tea. I’m a huge breakfast tea man so of course I had to check it out. The tea is amazing!! Pittsburgh Breakfast is 10/10 for sure. I’m pretty sure they have $5 shipping too. Thanks Blue Monkey“
“Among my favorite breweries in Pittsburgh, and a great addition to the growing brew-culture in Verona / Oakmont area. They are unafraid to experiment with bold, delicious, and unique flavor profiles (I'm looking at you, Sichuan Peppercorn Rice Lager), but have all the staples across the spectrum of types of beer.
Great spot for a quiet hang, great beer, and friendly staff and patrons. Perfect addition to downtown Verona.“

“Great Food and Atmosphere, Some Service Concerns I recently moved to the Braddock Hills area and was excited to revisit this spot, which used to be Folie’s a few years back. The food here is absolutely delicious, and it’s the perfect place to grab a bite, enjoy a margarita, and relax. That said, I’ve had a few experiences with a particular staff member that were concerning. While most of the team has been friendly and welcoming, However, barmaid (JESS who served me February the 7th around 1:49 p.m.) has been noticeably short and dismissive on a couple of occasions. For example, there were times when she rolled her eyes or responded curtly when I greeted her, even though previous visits had been pleasant. I even had an instance where my drink was placed at the very edge of the bar in a way that felt intentionally difficult. I did call to bring this to the manager’s attention to address it, no and she allegedly answered the phone as the manager, and to my experience the manager is a gentleman as well as the owner. I wanted to share it here as well. I’ve spoken with other patrons who’ve noted that her personality can sometimes affect the overall experience. While I understand everyone can have an off day, consistent professionalism and courtesy are essential in customer service, especially in a neighborhood gem like this one. Overall, I truly enjoy this restaurant—the food, ambiance, and most of the staff make it a wonderful place. I hope this feedback can help ensure all customers feel welcome and respected while maintaining the great atmosphere that makes this place special. You just never know who you're serving and your establishment 🌿 Community Advocate #nobulliesallowed“

“I had a really great experience at Honeygrow! The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly, which I always appreciate. The atmosphere was clean and welcoming, making it a nice spot to relax and enjoy a meal.
What really stood out, though, was the customer service. Danny checked up on us and was so kind, making sure everything was good and that we had what we needed. That kind of attention really makes a difference and made the whole experience even better.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend Honeygrow if you’re looking for a tasty meal and great service!“
