The menu had different items this time around, but we could not be happier with our selections. The drinks/food came out at the perfect time, our fried mozzarella and pasta dishes were still steaming when brought to the table, the entire staff including our waitress were all extremely friendly and accommodating even with a packed house. Can’t recommend DiAnoia’s enough!“

Grist House Craft Brewery Brewery • $$
10 E Sherman St, Millvale - 9.91 miles

“I've always been a fan of Grist House brewing. They have some good barrel aged stouts when they put them out. Also the IPA's are pretty solid. They seem to have a ton of sours as well which people love. I like them, but they don't like me (sours that is). Great outdoor space. I however at times get annoyed with some of the enormous dogs people bring. I have no issue with dogs, let me say that, but people sometimes bring massive dogs and are clueless to the fact that they are blocking doorways and things. It's also a Penn State brewery which is cool. They have firefest every year and that is a great time. Food trucks daily. Parking sucks, all street parking.“

“NGL this grilled cheese - cheese burg combo was a dream. If you ever thought to yourself, "this burger could use a grilled cheese," "this grilled cheese could use a burger" or never thought any of those in your life but love GOUD cheesy food- this one is for you. The Texas toast (don't know if that's what it was but that's what it felt like) was buttered to the gawds above. Ruggers knows the CTS (cheese to sando) ratio and went above and beyond the call of duty. The burg patty was flavorful itself and held its own up next to the overflowing cheese mountain that surrounded it. The fries were a perfectly salted addition to the sando. It was as mouthwateringly delicious as it looks and #GOUDapproved from all angles over here. Mondays are also taco night so you gotta pick up a few tacos SIGNATURE! “I sometimes have a hard time finding this little neighborhood bar. It's a gem. I feel like it's kind of like a phantom bar that phases in and out of existence, like something out of Brigadoon. It defines the word 'cozy'. The food went from reheated pizza to (now) very respectable bar food. It's always chill here, and the prices are right. Bar staff are consistently friendly. It's good that this place is hard to find. It's for locals, and people that know how to behave in bars. If you can't respect that, you shouldn't go.“

“This was a mixed bag. There were 8 of us. Parking is sufficient, right off 88, not hard to find. Easy wheelchair access. After ordering, you seat yourself. They don't take reservations. Waitresses bring your drinks & food to the table. You order at a cafeteria counter, but the food is upscaled. They smoke their own meats outside in the parking lot. The menu is varied with brisket & pulled pork as the smoked products served in familiar as well as new formats like a pulled pork taco. Smelled great, but I was determined to try the buttered lobster roll. It was amazing! Small, tender bun stuffed with the meat of 1 lobster all in butter, unfortunately I did bite into a small bit of shell. Hubby tried the lentil, ham, veggie soup. It was a pretty large bowl & really good. His entree was a shaved ribeye sandwich, also excellent, although I thought it could have had more meat. Crispy, salted waffle fries were terrific. Others had burger, small plate salmon dinner, crab cake - everyone was pleased. The desserts were not very good. Creme Brulee & cheesecake were good, cookies & brownies were hard, not good.Overall, I would go back again. Next trip I will be trying those tacos.“

“This brewery in the Rocks marked the 102nd brewery that I've visited. Marking that I've officially visited every microbrewery in the Pittsburgh region and let me tell you there is a lot. More are on the way, and I'll need to visit the new ones.Sadly I didn't know until this year that this place existed. How did I not know. One thing is that I love Hazy IPA's or Pale Ale's, they are my go to drink. What I do not like is a sour. However I tried a couple of their sours and damn are they the best that I've ever tasted. This place is unique it's in part of an old theater. They still have comedy nights here on the weekends it appears. The place looks a little scary, but it's perfectly fine area from what I've gathered.I can't wait to come back here again. “Honestly I keep thinking how dumb I've been to not have discovered this place sooner! I walked in within 2 minutes of them opening so I was the only one in the place. The waitresses and the owner all introduced themselves to me and asked my name. From that point on, they treated me like we had been friends for years. I had only wanted to try this place because I have heard the live music is great and the atmosphere is better, but when I got there, I was a bit hungry. I took a look at the menu and didn't see anything I would like but because they were so nice to me, I thought I would try the Italian hoagie. BEST DECISION EVER. I mean wow I can't stop thinking about how good it was. While I was waiting for my food to be made, I was looking at some of their upcoming events. They have an event called "Dingus Day" coming up and I wanted to know more. The owner came out and sat down next to me and started looking for videos on their tv. He found a clip of Anderson Cooper making fun of this dingus day and that's why he likes celebrating it. We walked YouTube videos for 15 minutes til my food was ready. I've never laughed or had so much fun with complete strangers in my life. I can't wait to go back and hang out with the people who made me feel like family from the second I walked in.“

“Easily one of the top breweries in the area. Not only are their beers unique and tasty, but they generally have something that will please everyone. Some of the best beers I've had have come from Hitchhiker and while their cans are good in a pinch, their on tap beers are well worth the trip.My only knock is they need to expand somewhere else with more seating and do a food menu of their own rather than relying on food trucks which can be hit or miss (can't remove a star for that since it's clear this is only a taproom) .The staff is great and attentive and let you try something so you don't get a glass of something you will hate.Getting seating here sometimes can be problematic in the winter months; but their stuff is top shelf and worth it.One of my top 5 breweries in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.“

“It was a rainy day. But, hey, what a cool and unique place Biddle's is! It was easy parking, but I'm thinking if it was a brilliant day, parking would be tight. PS. All tables were full. But, we got one, and spent 2 hours talking. A latte lasted a long time, 2 hours, which might say a bunch about the coffee. It wasn't memorable. The water was good. The food looked good, but I wasn't feeling hungry. An eclectic and semi-Bohemian atmosphere...very cool outdoor tent with a cozy seating setup. Cushy old chairs, sofas, interesting lighting.Only truly negative thing, was that the little female Barista, who was backed up...barked at me, because I checked a drink by picking it up to read who's it was. Before I even had a second to set it back, I was scolded. Oh well. ?I'll go back when it's convenient not because I loved it, or it treated me specially. You might like it. It was unique.“

Brew Gentlemen Brewery • $$
512 Braddock Ave, Braddock - 6.71 miles

“Brew Gentleman has always been a solid spot. We hadn't made our way out there for a bit but decided to check it out again. We were pleasantly surprised to see they changed it around a bit from the previous layout, and they added some nice touches. They always have a nice line up of styles, and their flagship beer is on tap. There is a beer garden around the back of the building that is not connected that provides additional space when the weather is nice. Four packs available on site to go. No food on site, but there is a food truck sometimes.“

“My coworker and I decided that a night on the town was much needed but wanted a different scene than the norm. Jekyll and Hyde was exactly what the doctor ordered! I loved the decor and the drinks were fantastic and quite affordable (I had spooky juice and my coworker had their signature, the Jack-O-Lantern). I also enjoyed the live karaoke and will be back soon for some good ole spooky fun!“

“They took care of my wife and myself with service and fantastic drinks. They also took care of an intoxicated Steelers fan, giving him water and food, while calling him a cab. This staff was fantastic with how casual they were with the situation. I'd come and give my business to this small brewery everytime I visit the Pittsburgh area.“

“Went here for breakfast. We ordered the French toast, sausage links, eggs, and coffee. There wasn’t anything outstanding about the breakfast menu, pretty much just the standard breakfast staples, however everything is fairly priced and exactly what you would expect. I thought the counter seating was fun and unique, although with such a large counter there are few booths and you may find the counter to be your only option.“
