“For anyone who doesn't know this even though it says open for 24 hours they do close for a short time to change over to breakfast. I got there around 3:30am and I couldn't get served until around 4. Except for that the lady working there was very nice and very accommodating!!!“

The man making the drinks was super friendly and extremely insightful!

We got a strawberry puree matcha the strawberry flavor was very subtle but the perfect for a lightly sweetened flavor
And I got a lavender iced matcha (my favorite!)

“I stopped by Brave Bean on North Shore recently and had mixed feelings about the experience. I ordered a chai latte with whole milk, but unfortunately, it was way too strong for my taste. There was so much chai and not enough milk that it threw off the balance—it came out way too spicy and intense to enjoy. The atmosphere wasn’t quite what I expected. It had more of a cafeteria vibe and felt kind of empty—maybe I just came at a quiet time, but I was the only person there. That said, the barista was very kind and friendly, which definitely helped brighten the visit. Also, they have a wide selection of drinks, almost like a smaller, local version of Starbucks—which could be a plus if you’re into variety.“

“Visited this morning for the first time. Got egg and cheese sandwiches, one croissant one ciabatta - both were amazing!! The lattes were delicious and rich. You can really taste the quality of the espresso. They were short staffed (1 employee who was grinding hard!) so I did wait about 25 minutes for two coffees and sandwiches. I didn’t mind that much and it was well worth the wait. Can’t wait to go back!“

“Hands down the best coffee beans I've ever had. Awesome staff, very friendly people, they make my day whenever I visit. Cacao is also uniquely amazing. They offer traditional Colombian flavors (like that panela syrup), delicious arepas and empanadas, as well as tasty pastries. I love this place. “Just tried this place for the first time today with a friend who has been before. Awesome hole in the wall type of place, decorated with awesome artwork and vintage star wars collectibles. Music was choice. I was happy when Weird Fishes by RadioHead started playing. The person working told me the name of the radio station that he plays, which I didn't quite catch, but he was very kind. Got a great cold brew with almond milk and lavender syrup. And I tried my first Banh Mi Sandwich that happened to be the vegan tofu variety. When I tell you it an explosion of fresh flavors and textures. So delicious and refreshing on a hot day. Savored every bite. My friend got her usual BLT with vegan bacon, which she loves. We were talking about how normally bread feels like a waste of calories when it is not that good. But even the bread was devine ciabata. Haha, definitely this place out!“

“Been in Oakland for a few years and Sidecar is my go-to cafe for myself and to meet up with friends. The food is phenomenal, their baked goods are perfection, and the drinks are delicious. Special shout out to the barista Em for making some of the best coffees I’ve ever had and always having great drink recommendations and such cheerful, professional customer service. The entire place is decorated so cutely with their signature mugs and wall art (please start selling the mugs!) and their iconic mirror wall. I recommend Sidecar whenever a friend mentions they want to get coffee, and I always recommend the Pittsburgh Smog tea and cinnamon rolls.“

I read a previous review saying the art on the wall was AI generated, must have been before the wall graffiti was done. We were a party of 3 and each ordered a different menu item. There is something for everyone. The bread for the sandwiches and the bread accompanying the egg dishes is sourdough bread. The salad portions with the egg dish was very generous. The fruit with the French toast bread was mostly berries and generous portion. This is not something you see in other breakfast places where fruit portions are small and mostly banana. Waitresses were frindly and accomodating. We all loved it and will be coming again.“

“Went to see what all the hype about was, and can happily say it’s worth it! The pistachio latte, though expensive, was absolutely delicious. The pistachio flavor was nice and strong, a great balance of nuttiness and sweetness. Make sure to mix it up a lot, and try not to finish it in five minutes like I did!

Pastries and cakes are also very good looking! These style of pastries are traditionally quite sweet, so make sure to be aware, but the flavors are some of my favorite so still try them! Overall great spot and I want more late night coffee shops like this one!“

“Really cool and sustainable repurposing of an old Moose Lodge. Caught a meeting where the mission was being explained to another group, and it was awesome to hear about the concept. Egg sandwich is incredible, reminded me of the quality of food I experienced living abroad and brought back many happy memories, but at an affordable price- $12 for a large decaf, build your own egg sandwich with double the eggs and a bit of fresh fruit on the side. Was awesome to sit and feel like a person on the two days I visited and the staff was incredibly talented in addition to wonderful energy. Everyone who worked here loved their job and it showed! (To clarify that's exactly what I mean by the quality of food experienced abroad- happy food made by happy people.) Also a really cool co-working space.“
