“The location is an odd corner of downtown - but don’t let that discourage you! The owner is very nice, the restaurant is very clean, the food is authentic, and the ingredients are of great quality. We wanted to have a delicious meal before traveling to Korea for the first time and it was a perfect introduction. Thank you for a delicious dinner and all the well wishes!“

“Great experience! The food was delicious. There aren't any other authentic experiences like this in Pittsburgh! So much thought and care put in to every dish. Delicious hand crafted cocktails. The entire team was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend this restaurant!“

“Came to give my out of town friend a taste of local sushi, not knowing what to look for. Saw the good reviews and they are 100% accurate. Presentation was great and we both left happy. My friend said the maya was great, he enjoyed its flavor.“

“How do I describe the Pho restaurant. It has most commonly seen Vietnamese cuisine. The taste of Pho was a bit plain style but nice. I like my pho very hot when served. It's not up to my requirements but still acceptable. They apologized for not serving basil for pho because they couldn't find any from their market... My bad luck... Service was prompt and the staff were friendly. Recommended!!“

“This place seems to be authentic for me. Small Korean restaurant with few extra seats on the second floor. Waiting time around 15 mins because they are busy with other orders. The counter desk lady is quick and serious. I ordered the most expensive dish in the menu - galbi bento (Korean short ribs). Decent size portion, enough for a man to get full, meat was fresh with balanced marinade but chewy for me. So, I was not able to eat every piece of meat in whole. Nice place to explore. Would order unagi bowl next time.“

“This is a great place to go for a special meal out. The prices may seem high but the quality of the food and the portion size makes it extremely good value. There is a wide variety of flavours and dishes to sample and the specials never disappoint.“

“Nice little hole in the wall sushi place. Pretty comprehensive list of sushi and sashimi options with plenty of rolls as well. Fairly priced, well made. Not a fancy sit down restaurant but it makes good food if you're looking for a quick sushi “

“Interior could use a bit of updating, but was clean and comfortable enough (kudos on the St Paddy's day decorations!). As for the sushi, definitely some of the best in town. Had the dragon, rainbow, Pittsburgh, and red dragon rolls, and loved them all.“

“CASH only!Sushi was tasty. I’m not sushi expert but tried many places and this is one of the bests if you don't mind its super casual settings. It’s inside the seafood store so I would not recommend if someone is sensitive to fish smell, etc.“

“AMAZING experience ! I loved everything I ordered. I got the fried chicken, the fried tempura sushi roll, and the onigiri which was the highest quality tuna I’ve ever had in my life it was sooo good! We got a nice private room for my party and everything about this place is meticulously detailed! Go go go!!!“

“Read the mini bio/mission statement of young Luke Wholey at the front of the restaurant; so charming and somehow makes you feel personally connected. The food we ordered was cooked very well with great freshness, flavor and seasoning. The fish and oysters were excellent. We had the unexpected opportunity to meet and speak with R. Wholey who was very generous with his time in answering questions about the history of the family business. What a treat!Personally observed LW with a broom in hand and doing a quick clean of the stairs then also acting as greeter and host as guests came in. It was our first visit, hopefully not the last, and I hope the restaurant continues to have success and longevity much like the related Wholey's fish market and grocery store down the block.“

“Hands down the best sushi spot in Pittsburgh. If you are looking for something simple, authentic, and fresh, it’s the spot for you. If you are one of those people that likes their sushi to be loaded with bunch of crunchy stuff and all kinds of sauces, it’s not the best choice for you my friend, you may want to stick with Giant Eagle sushi then. This place serves authentic sustainable food, and not junk.“

“The best sushi you will ever eat! Service very slowEdit: thanks for response. Yes the service was perfect in getting the food out. We were just left with the check uncollected for 30 minutes.Based on other reviews (even from a year ago) it seems like it is common for the servers to not collect the check toward the end of the dayI can certainly look the other way because those salmon rolls were stuffed and the prices are great!“

“We had the strongman role and it was really good and fresh. Also tried the tuna avocado roll and that was really good as well. We'll go back and try some other things. The only thing I questioned was a strong manual had a piece of lettuce in it why lol?“

“Not as good as nearby Silk Road, but almost as impressive. The sushi was super excellent ? The orange chicken for the most part was good, just a few stringy pieces. Service was a bit slow but they were little busy on a Saturday night. Will visit again.“

“This place definitely isn’t bad, and I feel the rating is a tad low. Now, I haven’t tried their sushi, but they’re poke bowls — those are quite good, I believe. I tried their Build Your Own Poke bowl, which I created with brown rice, smoked salmon, tempura flakes, soy sauce, carrots, corn, edamame, and sweet chili sauce. The portion itself was good, and a solid price as well. The location is confident, too. The food itself, I felt was pretty good quality. Although they called it smoked salmon, it didn’t have a very strong Smokey flavor, but it was still good. The vegetables seemed to be fresh. The brown rice was well cooked, and the sauces blended together well. They gave me numerous packets of soy sauce on the side. All in all, very solid place. Is it the best or the most authentic? No, but it’s quick, has good prices, a confident location, and solid food.Vegetarian options: You can choose vegetarian proteins and make great bowlsDietary restrictions: Lots of healthy options“

“If you are going for the all you can eat sushi I think it is a fair deal! $27 and the menu is huge! Go hungry! The sushi was tasty and came pretty quickly. I would stick only to the sushi though! The appetizers tasted frozen and the noodle soup had no flavor. The only appetizer we liked was the sexy jalapeños but still just B grade! But the sushi was worth it! Tons of choices! The waiter was great and checked on us multiple times so we didn't feel bad about placing many orders! It is pretty crowded and noisy in there but a fun time!“

“I’m a Pitt student and Mount Everest is by far one of my most favorite places to eat in Oakland. Every single time I go in, I am greeted with such kindness and spectacular service. The employees are truly lovely humans and they make the BEST sushi I’ve ever had. Thank you Mount Everest!“

“This was our first time, we would give it 10 stars ?Vegetarian options: YesParking: Was about a 1/2 block, plenty of parking, but it was difficult to get out...we parked on top but had to drive down like 6 levels to get out...they should have access at the top to get out!Kid-friendliness: Not that I had any with me, but saw a couple families with young kids..Very well behaved“

“A good all around Asian restaurant with a varied menu that covers enough bases for everyone to find something they like: Sushi, a broad selection of the usual American Chinese dishes, Pad Thai, Thai Curries, …The prices were very fair for being located on Walnut Street in Shadyside. Noodles or fried rice were in the $13 -$16 range and 75% of the other entrees in the $16 - $20 range. Regular sushi rolls were priced between $6 - $9 and most Special Rolls were $15 - $17.We enjoyed the sushi which was comparatively good for the city in an energetic, above average atmosphere for this type of restaurant. Nice, sturdy take home bags were a plus.“

“I’m very rarely downtown at lunch time, but every time I am, I look forward to eating at this place. A friend introduced me to this restaurant years ago and I’m so glad they are still around. It’s counter service and they only take cash (and FYI, they don’t accept the juror discount vouchers other restaurants in this food court do). Service is brisk and professional. My food was ready in just a few minutes.I always get the kyu-don, and it is DELICIOUS every time. It’s a pretty generous portion of beef, egg, and rice. I like it with the oil added on top to give it a mild spice. I’ve been tempted to try some of the other things on the menu — they all sound good — but the kyu-don is so good I just can’t not have it.I’ll be looking forward to coming back the next time I’m downtown!“

The menu changes so we are always trying something new and deliciousDietary restrictions: Plenty of naturally gluten free optionsParking: They share a free parking lot with Bar Marco but if that is full pretty easy to get a street spot in the evening for dinner“

“Listen here, there is none better than FORTUNE STAR! 2 time visitor in 5 days! Immediately greeted and seated to let the all you can eat begin! I absolutely stuffed myself both visits! Not out of hunger but out of necessity! I had to see what every dish tasted like and was never disappointed!“
