“I suppose everyone has a right to their own opinion, but I think the 4.4 rating on this place is an absolute travesty. I had never tried shoo-fly pie before visiting PA this autumn, but I made it a point to try a couple of different ones during my visit, and while all of them were quite yummy, for me Dutch Haven was head and shoulders and belly-button ahead of all others. For anyone who loves shoo-fly pie, I'd be pretty surprised if you didn't love theirs; and for anyone who wants to try it for the first time, I HIGHLY recommend making Dutch Haven the one you try. I only wish it weren't so much more expensive to have it shipped vs. buying it on site (but that's pretty par for the course for shipping food items, so disappointing as it is, I do totally get it). Oh well, I'll just have to figure out a good time to make my way back at some point, and do a bit more stocking up next time around! :D“

Some say it’s a little pricey but if you see the different selections and just taste it, it is so worth it! For what we spent, you could go out for a steak dinner. You can get a freshly made steak along with roast beef, chicken, pot pie, several more entrees and vegetables along with salad bar AND desserts - I’ll take this buffet over a plain steak dinner anytime!!!!“

“I dropped by for a quick bite to eat before a work conference and was pleasantly surprised! My bagel was delicious, and the coffee was excellent. After years of having so much burnt espresso it made my day to finally have a properly pulled shot of espresso in my latte. The service was great, the young lady who took my order told me all about some great historic landmarks to check out while I’m in the area and made me feel so welcomed to Lancaster.

Make sure to stop in for a bite to eat and quick caffeine hit, you’ll be glad you did!“

“The journey to this bake shop is a story.

We drive into an Amish farm and saw no cars parked, nor a sign telling us where the bakery is. We drive deeper into the barn, almost knocking over the family dog. There were some dogs in cages barking at us, not sure if it was to welcome us, or to warn us.

We saw a guy who seem to work there, or owns the place. He told us that we went too far in, and said “turn around, it’s the red shed”.

We turned the car around, again, looking around to see which of those could be the bakery. We saw a hand written board “open”.

We go in. Shelves were almost empty except for a few trays of whoopie pies and some fry pies in the refrigerator. No one was inside except a box saying “self service”. “Interesting” we thought. Never have we seen such an establishment that was based on trust.

OH yes, how were the pies you say? SO GOOD. Just gotta bake them real good for a little. The whoopie pies are also really moist and cream not coyingly sweet.“

“Sandwich and pretzels were fresh! Pretzels are like the ones we made growing up. Liked the cranberry twist to a choice as well. However, one regular was a bit overcooked. The gal that waited on us was very nice. Great stop! If you’ve never had homemade soft pretzels (not the game day kind) - then it’s a must stop!“

“I ordered a cake for a birthday party and was not disappointed! The 12" round cake was HUGE and could definitely serve 35-45 people as stated on their website.
I chose the Peanut Butter Symphony flavor and it was delicious. The combination of chocolate cake and peanut butter mousse was perfect. I can't wait to try some of the other flavors.

“A must stop for anyone in Lancaster. I would consider this a hidden gem. If you are traveling to Lancaster and want a delicious sticky bun, skip every bakery except Mr. Sticky! They are huge, taste amazing and the price is actually very fair. I went to a Cinnabon in the mall the other day and paid $7 for a cinnamon bun! I instantly wished I went to Mr. Sticky.“

“We went for the Grand Opening today and I have to say the staff was WONDERFUL. I would love to shout out a few super great people we had the pleasure of interacting with today: the first two were the young men running the pumpkin patch. You could tell they got bombarded but they handled it so well and were super nice. The second is the two young men who were running the basketball game & hit the cans game near the Whip ride. My two sons played both games and the guys there were so incredibly sweet. The third was Greyson, who was running the Photo Booth inside Merlin’s Mayhem - just amazing service and such a great personality. We have been pass holders for the past three years and this was the best day we’ve had!“

“After seeing a lot of advertisements on Facebook I decided to go ahead and place an order (good job marketing team).
I ordered a six pack of assorted cookies. The order shipped right away and was at my door within in couple of days. The cookies arrived carefully packaged and everything got to me in one piece. Right away I tried the S'more cookie and... O M G!! Everything exceeded my expectations. Fresh, delicious, and pretty much the perfect cookie. I will definitely be a returning customer.

I was about to place another order and noticed that some cookies are only available if you subscribe to their cookie club. The monthly cost is a bit steep, but I figured I'd try it for the minimum three months. Once reached check out and saw that it was going to cost almost two hundred dollars for the order, I immediately hit the brakes and decided that I couldn't justify paying that much money for cookies. Especially because I have no way to know if I would even like the flavors without trying them first. Can your average customer really afford this? I'm still giving you five stars because your cookies are incredible. But please consider allowing customers to order any of your flavors without needing to subscribe.“

“Hands down the best, really handcrafted coffee I've had in a VERY long time. The guy running the show recommended trying the house chai, and I was blown away. I didn't know chai could be that good. Also had a cappuccino, and I was just as impressed. The owner(?) was super friendly, helpful, and kind with everything. It's a bit off the beaten track if you're driving, but I recommend finding this place and stopping in!“

“The menu selection and preparation was, as always, perfect. We had three generations at lunch, and each found something wonderful from the menu. Everyone delighted in the dessert options from the bakery case. Our out-of-town visitors were charmed and impressed. The bathroom was disappointingly dirty with no hook for a bag. Our server had exceptionally long nails with embellishments that did not appear sanitary.“

“While I like most of Stoltzfus’s items, I’ve been disappointed in their chicken salad. It used to be a staple in our home but seems like they’ve changed the recipe. It’s now so runny with mayo (or whatever they use) that it plops right off our sandwiches. They’ve also seem to cut back on the celery which added a nice contrasting crunch. Please bring back the old recipe.“
