“I dropped by for a quick bite to eat before a work conference and was pleasantly surprised! My bagel was delicious, and the coffee was excellent. After years of having so much burnt espresso it made my day to finally have a properly pulled shot of espresso in my latte. The service was great, the young lady who took my order told me all about some great historic landmarks to check out while I’m in the area and made me feel so welcomed to Lancaster.

“Overall really solid. The staff was incredibly friendly, and a massive selection of bread in different forms as soon as you walk in. I was impressed seeing the selection spread. It was a little cramped with 3 customers in there but not too horrible.

One of my concerns was immediate as they didn't have prices on anything which is normally a sign that things are going to be on the higher end. The bread itself was actually pretty fairly priced, a bag of I believe six ciabatta hoagie rolls for just under $9. I also got two breakfast sandwiches which were almost $10 a pop, which I honestly would have been fine with if it wasn't the steamed egg patty, it just had a very bad texture. It was a shame because they use some really good bacon, the bagels were amazing, and the cheese was okay, the egg just really sank it for me. Also just shy of $2 a bottle of water seemed a little bit steep as well.

The folks working there were really nice and open to feedback so hopefully they will tailor some of their options as they grow. I will definitely be coming back but keeping an eye on some of their pricing/food adaptations.

Edit: it was 4 hoagie rolls so a little over 2$ a roll is...a little high. They were decent though.“

“Martine at House of Clarendon crafted the most exquisite wedding cake we could have imagined. Not only was it beautiful, but it was also absolutely delicious. Martine was wonderful to work with—creative, responsive, and deeply committed to ensuring every detail was perfect. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how delicious the cake was. We have and will continue to go back to get his cupcakes as they are perfect. We cannot recommend Martine enough and will continue to go to him for all of our special occasion cakes in the future.“

“Jenna’s cake for my dad’s 70th birthday was truly one of a kind! I wanted to incorporate some of my dad’s favorite things, and Jenna helped me create the most special, personalized cake for him. He absolutely loved it, and it made him feel so special.

Not only was the design perfect, but the cake itself was the most delicious I’ve ever had! It was so moist, perfectly balanced—not overly sweet, just incredibly tasty. We even put some in the fridge, and four days later, it was still just as moist and delicious!

I would absolutely recommend Jenna for any event, big or small. If I were getting married again, she’d be the one to do my wedding cake. She’s that good!“

“First time here tonight, my husband and i had THE BEST experience! The staff was so sweet and friendly. The chocolate pb pie was delicious, so rich and creamy! My husband had the apple hand pie. “A must stop for anyone in Lancaster. I would consider this a hidden gem. If you are traveling to Lancaster and want a delicious sticky bun, skip every bakery except Mr. Sticky! They are huge, taste amazing and the price is actually very fair. I went to a Cinnabon in the mall the other day and paid $7 for a cinnamon bun! I instantly wished I went to Mr. Sticky.“

“I took my partner here for a nice meal and it is a very aesthetically pleasing restaurant and bakery. All the food was delicious but the price point was not as yummy! All in all, I would eat there again but just as soon say stick with the Bakery side so your wallet doesn’t cry!“

“My fiancée and I found this place on a whim. We were craving a bagel but didn't want to go across town. The moment you step in, the restaurant is bright and very inviting. Their menu is small but its create when you couldn't decide what you wanted. The breads are for sale and you can call to order a dozen bagels or anything else you might want. The bagels are a little small but very flavorful. The egg sandwich may need some sort of dressing but the ciabatta that it is on is so buttery. If you are out for a drive, this is an awesome place to stop. I hear their pizzas are awesome!“

“My sister told me about your Fruit English Muffins, which she gets at Pine View Dairy. I tried them and fell in love with them. While I was there, I saw the bagels and tried the cheese, they were absolutely delicious. You have a winner in both, the flavors are so good. Keep up the good work.“

“I ordered catering for a breakfast company meeting and everyone was impressed. The sandwiches were still warm and delicious. I appreciated the fact that they provided ketchup and Tabasco packets without asking. I also recommend the baked oatmeal with milk and brown sugar. “Hands down the best, really handcrafted coffee I've had in a VERY long time. The guy running the show recommended trying the house chai, and I was blown away. I didn't know chai could be that good. Also had a cappuccino, and I was just as impressed. The owner(?) was super friendly, helpful, and kind with everything. It's a bit off the beaten track if you're driving, but I recommend finding this place and stopping in!“

“AMAZING PLACE!!! MORE AMAZING PEOPLE!!! I am a tour operator and had a group at Tanger Outlet Lancaster. Long and the short... I had a client in need of seat, and an outlet for his portable O2 in a standing room only Butter & Bean. So, one of the staff hears my plea for help and Jessie, the owner comes out. She makes arrangements for not only a seat near an outlet but grabs an extension cord to allow for some movement. The patrons in the entire cafe made way for Jessie and my client. I ask if we can just chill for an hour or so, till he gets charged up and she wouldn't hear of it. "Stay as long as you need to", she said. So, I bought my client a coffee and a sandwich, which was amazing, bought some coffees for those that made space for him, and invited the entire bus group to join us and support Butter and Bean. And we sure did. The food and coffee were great, but the spirit, the vibe and the whole experience I needed to share. Oh, did I mention it was Black Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 1230p!!! Who does that??? Well, Butter and Bean does! So, get great coffee and really good eats, and support a business that we will proudly support in every way.“
