“I put in a Reservation for dinner on a weekday thankfully because there was no empty seat at 5:00, they were packed with lines out the door. Best waitress ever, she was always checking on us, briefly conversational. Best food I’ve tasted, very naturally flavorful, all Homemade. The steak was the best steak I’ve ever had for $40 meal, they smoked grilled the top and the middle was moist like it was in a crockpot, I don’t know how they got it taste so wonderful without falling apart. Absolutely the best cheesecake ever, $10/slice but they are HUGE slices like a double cake size and you can taste a homemade sour cream version mixed in it, I’m searching for their recipes online to make at home because it so fabulous. To order a whole cheesecake is $70 and there’s quite the variety. I tried dark chocolate but it tasted like a chocolate moose cake, the coconut cheesecake was good but it’s more like a coconut cake. The original cheesecake hands down is the best I will be going out of my way to order more. I like that they have non-alcoholic fruity drinks I enjoyed. My boyfriend ordered the cheeseburger meal for $20 but he was full after one small sandwich. About $150 for 2 adults 1 child and when I was leaving EVERY person at their tables had a smile on their faces, the customers were actually happy (most places customers are solemn and quietly engaging which is fine), it’s just everyone here was happy. Clean environment except for the pillar next to our booth I can has never been scrubbed, so maybe someone could scrub the pillars/walls. Very positive experience, I want to come back. I’m so glad the quality is top notch and they haven’t lowered that like other chain restaurants.“

“Visiting from out of town with family, we all live out of town. This pizza place is right around the corner. We stopped in to buy soda and grabbed a menu for later. Meet the night manager Chris, super nice and very helpful. Later we called to order pizzas to pick up. Ordered 3 large pizzas, one plain cheese, one of the new superoni and the new pittsburger pizza, all were AMAZING! Lots of flavor, fresh dough, crust was soooo yummy! We also ordered a tossed salad, it’s enough for 4 people, and French fries, very crispy and plenty for 6 people. Would definitely go back again next time in Pittsburgh.“

“Found this hidden gem today on my way to work. I had the Italian sub with chips. It was both delicious and filling. The owner is a real nice down to earth gentleman I had the pleasure of conversing with as I waited for my meal. I ended up eating the whole 1/2 sub, which is rare for me. I will be back for the Tuesday special as I was delighted to see they have Michelob ultra light on tap verses in the bottle. The waitress was also very pleasant. “Started my Pittsburgh foodie adventures in this adorable little sit-down pizza restaurant in Shadyside! We tried the Pizza Del Re (white pizza) and Pizza Della Casa (red pizza), and both lived up to the hype! Pizza Del Re: - White pizza with mozzarella, truffle spread, & prosciutto (it comes with mushrooms too, but we got it without because my boyfriend doesn't like mushrooms) - A super rich truffle taste that was so yummy - Loved the thin crust, but there were parts that tasted a little too burnt Pizza Della Casa: - Red tomato sauce pizza with mozzarella, grape tomatoes, arugula, prosciutto, & parmigiano - I love the combination of prosciutto & arugula and it was a plus that the arugula tasted so fresh & wasn't bitter - I personally prefer red sauce over white sauce, so I liked this pizza a little bit more To top off your meal here, make sure to get their gelato for dessert! “my boyfriend and i tried pelegrino’s after we got sent a menu from them in the mail. we each got a pizza, and the cost was INCREDIBLY lower than the other pizza places we’ve ordered from. they deliver as well, which is nice. what i also appreciate about pelegrino’s is the option for online ordering, which allows me to pay & tip so i don’t have to fumble whenever the delivery comes. it takes some time, but it’s always worth the wait; we’ve never been disappointed!! this is our go to pizza spot!!“

“It was cool to see this place transform from Howard's Pub to Harold's Haunt. The small little changes are great and made the space feel very inclusive. They have a small beer selection with some good choices. There are also rotating cocktail and mocktail menus. There's an outdoor patio in the back that's nice. The food menu is on the smaller side but had some nice choices; the five dollar grill cheese got the job done when we needed to refuel. Good spot to stop at before or after a show at Mr.Smalls.“

“Lovely restaurant with strong and unique cocktails and a menu. I had the bison, and it was wonderful, as was the service and atmosphere. I loved the fireplace on a cold Pittsburgh evening. The power briefly went out, and the servers immediately pulled their phones and used their flashlights while standing over tables so guests could see their menu. Of course, we had our own phones, but I appreciated how, on their toes they were. Great date, upscale, but not too pretentious type of place.“

“Piccolo Forno is the BEST Italian food you can ever ask for and find in Lawrenceville!!! My husband and I had our first date here back in 2019, so we thought it would only be fitting to have our wedding reception here as well. We recently rented their private event space and couldn’t have been happier with the outcome! From the very beginning, the communication with Nealey (the restaurant’s manager) was very thorough and she was always willing to answer any and all questions I had. She was able to accommodate our guests different dietary restrictions in addition to my husband’s celiac disease. It does something that I think few other places these days care about that is so fundamental.They do the basics, they do them right, and they do them at an agreeable price. The menu is small and got a lot of classic options you'd expect from just about any other place but the quality for the price is unmatched. Everything I have eaten from this place was perfect. $10 large cheese pizza is a no thrills menu option to most people but consistently quality every. Single. “Originally tried to place a large order at recognized pizza places in the Strip and North Side but they were too busy so on a whim, tried BF. Great NY style thin and tasty (not greasy at all) pizza. We got four pieces, one with toppings, and a large fountain drink, and it was under $13.00!!! The area to eat is super cute, and the food comes out super fast. “GREAT CIDERS, PIZZAS, and VIBES! Tried Threadbare Coder House for the first time last night - I am REALLY late to this party - and it was fantastic! First off, if you're a toddler mom like me, you know a night out with the kids can be more stressful than fun. Threadbare was totally kid friendly and has an amazing corner with giant light bright boards and magnatiles for the kids to play! It was amazing and the most relaxed my husband and I have been out in a long time! Like it was so nice that even if the service and food hadn't been good I would have returned for that feature alone- thank goodness that wasn't the case! We ordered two pizzas - the buffalo chicken and chicken bacon ranch. Both pizzas were sooo good! We especially loved the buffalo chicken! The chicken is a slow cooked braised cider chicken that is so flavorful. The ranch on both pizzas is homemade and herby, and the dough is a homemade sourdough crust which was perfectly crisp and thin. Very well executed. Service was fantastic! We felt very well taken care of, we were given the cookie for the kids on the house and the food and drinks were out quickly. Our favorite cider was probably the tiki which is a seasonal recipe and has a hint of coconut. It was delicious. We also really liked the imperial cherry and guava flavors. The bridge city bubbly was nice but sweet lovers beware - it's very dry. Overall we loved our visit to Threadbare and will be back soon! Our only regret is that we didn't know about it sooner!“

“Went there years ago when I worked in the area. I ordered a large pepperoni and wings. These wings were whole ones and tasted great. I got the light spice. They were very good and the pepperoni pizza was as good as I remember years ago. They also now accept cards they were cash only before. Can't wait for my next order.“
