This place is an absolute, authentic gem of an old school diner, inside and out. Completely iconic right down to the table side jukeboxes. “Food was excellent and attractively presented. Drinks were generous if just a bit overpriced. Pet peeve on staff training. Servers reached in across to pace items and plates were cleared before everyone at the table was finished. Servers though were courteous and efficient.“

“Only been there for breakfast: typical diner-style food, but it came hot and was very good, and comes with free-flowing hot coffee. Sausage links are good. Smoked sausage is also a breakfast item and it's delicious. Staff is awesome! Friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is homey: early morning regulars are very nice people. Between the staff, regulars, and the food it makes for an enjoyable way to start the day. I highly recommend this diner for individuals who are comfortable sitting at the counter or at a small table. I do not recommend this diner for large families (of more than 4) or for large groups unless prior arrangements or you call before you come. as there are a limited number of tables and the diner can become very crowded. “A long time favorite for many locals for a very long time! Great, FRESHLY baked (on site) soft pretzels. In addition to the "standard" pretzel shape, Smittie's offers large pretzel "sticks" and bite-sized as well. (Also miscellaneous items like soda/ non alcoholic drinks).The location is a renovated, roadside type stand, (look for the white "lighthouse" on top) and has very friendly staff. Smittie's is well worth the time to stop in and enjoy a local, traditional treat.Smittie's is in the northern, rolling hills of York County, PA. The road (PA Route 74, just north of Dover, PA) is often used by area residents in the Autumn for good fall foliage viewing. The nearby Gifford Pinchot State Park is worth visiting for pretty views any time of year!NOTE: Parking is a bit tricky at times (just depends on random timing, space for a few cars) and is just off a well paved roadway (PA Route 74), northbound side. I go here often enough and I have had days where things where off but then again I've had that happen everywhere . The food here is good , good price, and the staff is friendly and fast.“

“I enjoyed a delicious fried seafood platter on march 3. It included French fries and a tasty side salad. Crab cake and shrimp was outstanding so were the large shrimp. “Parking: In order to make room for more warehouses, the township re-routed the road which used to be directly in front of the Summit. So, picking out the entrance lane is a little tricky, but well worth it. We have long enjoyed eating at the Summit. They have friendly staff, good food, and plenty of it.“

“2015 update: I usually get the general tso's, which I have never ever had anything better than their's. Highly recommend them. I used to work near them so my friend and I probably went enough to pay the rent bill. :)2024 update: after a decade of going to China one and having general tso's literally at every Chinese restaurant I could get to in a 20 mile radius over the years, they absolutely still make the best! I will add my same friend, and I still come here fairly regularly at least 1 or 2 times a month. I think as a very long time patron I have the right to say in all honesty that the interior decor, walls, bathrooms, menus, and basically everything you can see is in need of a MASSIVE renovation! It makes it feel crumby to see it and eat there cause you aren't sure just how clean anything is. It's like they built the place, and that was the last time they thought about updating literally anything. Not being mean, I just want to eat A class food in an A class restaurant, not a D- restaurant. I recommend this place to anyone. They will always say my 2 favorite words at the end of ordering every time, "ten minutes" if you know, you know... :)“
