“Visited this morning for the first time. Got egg and cheese sandwiches, one croissant one ciabatta - both were amazing!! The lattes were delicious and rich. You can really taste the quality of the espresso. They were short staffed (1 employee who was grinding hard!) so I did wait about 25 minutes for two coffees and sandwiches. I didn’t mind that much and it was well worth the wait. Can’t wait to go back!“

They worked very hard to get where they are in the industry here in the 719. make sure to support your local businesses no matter what! “Coffee quality has always been wonderful to the pallet and the service is always friendly even in the earliest of hours of the day. No bad aftertaste when getting any lattes compared to other more mainstream coffee shops. Small location that is best hitting the drive thru, but does have a walk up window. “I stopped in last night, there were two young ladies behind the bar that didn't acknowledge my presence. But when I came in there was a young man sweeping the floor because it was almost closing time and he put the broom down and came behind the bar to wait on me. He's the superstar in this story! Even after he got my drink, the young ladies behind the bar never made eye contact with me. Hard to believe you can go to a place in East Liberty and be treated as if you are invisible.“

“A spot that really delivers on its promise of unique food and a wonderful ambiance. We thought we had a reservation for Sunday of Valentine's weekend at 9 PM... turns out I reserved a month ahead of time for March 15th. But, they had a table available to accommodate us anyways! One of my favorite places now, certainly on the pricier side, but you will leave very, very full. I would recommend getting 1-2 things out of each section of the menu. This ran us about $195 for two people on a special night out, which is better than other classy spots around the city. Some of the flavor profiles I had in these dishes are unlike anything I've ever experienced before. My standouts were the grilled cabbage Caesar and the rainbow trout fillet. Both just incredible flavor experiences, and we were fighting to finish off that fillet as the final course.

Will be going back again and again! I hope the branzino will be available for our next trip!“

“Cozy little coffee shop with tasty drinks. We liked all the drinks we ordered though mine was definitely on the sweet side. Service was great and it is pretty busy with not much staff but they get the job done.
The menu options are standard coffee shop drinks as well as seasonal/ specialties. For food they have sandwiches, bagels, waffles, and assorted fresh baked goods. There are also some prepackaged snacks and drinks. Non food items include candles, mugs, cards, etc. No parking lot so you have to park on the street.“

“Great cafe with lovely food and drinks! The coziness of the interior makes it a great spot to relax, study/work, and hang out! Plus, the pastries all look amazing, especially the pies, but I’d also recommend the breakfast sandwich, which was one of the best ones I’ve had in awhile! The egg is super fluffy and the cheese they use went so perfectly, every bite was addicting.

Definitely will be coming back to try some of their pastries, and a crowd favorite especially for students, love it!“

“Love this little hidden gem, The staff is so friendly and a lot of fun- our barista sort of messed up my drink (literally not the biggest deal in the world, she was busy) but we were all joking about it with a couple we met there and she was a good sport and super sweet, literally great energy. The food is 100/10 we got the grilled cheese and tomato basil soup and also a breakfast burrito and wow oh wow- everything from the vibes to food to the energy this place is def top on our list. The details in this place from their unique retail to the free bagged cookies they left out for anyone to take just makes the place feel warm cozy and inviting on a cold winter day. “Since I first heard of this opening, I've been wanting to go for a long time. The atmosphere is very nice, not too loud, and the seating area is very beautiful! I was there for quite a while [first met with a friend, then solo reading time], and liked seeing all the slows and rush times within the cafe. All the pastries looked very beautiful, and it was nice to see options you wouldn't see at a big chain. The selections of coffee are very enticing and interesting, but I got a plain latte because of my sweet treat. I tried the Dubai Chocolate Brownie, not toooo sweet and had enough crunch, which paired very well with the plain latte I got. I think it's very nice to have a space with Yemeni influence in its menu, and interior, especially since Pittsburgh is such a growing diverse space and the times we're in currently. As a Muslim person and POC, it was comforting seeing food I grew up with being shared, various different people enjoying this space, seeing people like me have a space, and seeing this cafe gain so much support.“

“This is my neighborhood Starbucks and it's awesome! Melissa and her crew of Baristas are amazing. They welcome everyone and treat everyone with respect. (Even some customers who aren't so nice!) The place is always clean and they are consistent when making drinks. It's always a comfortable place to meet friends, hang out, and have a snack or great drink.“

“I was in the area and searched quickly for a coffee near me and this place popped up. I’m so glad it did! It was such a cute, unique space and the coffee was delicious. The barista was super friendly and my orange mocha was excellent. I’m always hesitant to try flavored lattes because I hate super sweet, syrupy coffee but this one was perfect. It was flavorful without being syrupy. With oat milk it was around $8 and while I do agree that’s pricier than I’d like to pay for coffee, it’s definitely very on par with all of the other coffee shops I go to.“

“The employees here are always amazing. Last week I received notice of a death in my family while I was in the drive thru. The girl working the window handed me an ornament filled with coffee beans and I broke down crying. She took a minute to ask me what was wrong and wished me well hoping my day got better and that she would keep my family in her thoughts. The entire experience made my day so much more bearable. “The espresso was excellent. I got a latte with orange blossom syrup, and the orange flavor came through beautifully without being overpowering. There’s plenty of seating, and the large tables are perfect for group study sessions. Just note that outlets are limited, so charge your devices beforehand.“

“Pre Amp is a new coffee shop with a lot of promise, and some damn good (but pricey) options and sandwiches!

The veggie sandwich was a stand out, crispy eggplant with a nice spread on a huge focaccia bread piece, it’s a little pricy but is basically two meals. The drinks are also on the expensive side, but I really enjoyed the Smokey Robinson, a latte with a really strong spiced peppercorn flavor that not everyone might like.

The staff was super quick and helpful, and the vibe was great, but if it’s crowded, it’s really hard to maneuver around or really sit anywhere. There’s a really narrow walkway with seats on the sides, so it’s a bit hard to get a seat and do work, read, chat, etc. but when it’s not crowded, it’s a really chill environment! Excited to see what specials they come up with next!“
