“I took my son here today for a Mario Happy Meal. On the way in his head was bumped on the door handle. A very kind man, who was likely the manager brought him some ice in a bag without us even asking and checked on us later on as well. He also brought our food to the table. Our order was correct and we had a great lunch dining inside. With customer service almost non existent these days, this man is a gem of an employee. While I didn't catch his name he had glasses and a cross tattoo on his forearm.“

“I didn't realize I've never left a review but my husband and I have been coming here regularly for over 4 years. There are baristas that have been here for that long and are amazing. They are so so nice. I've been coming here with my newborn and now she'll be four and they truly embody the concept of a third space for everyone including rambunctious toddlers. They have never made us feel less welcome for our child being a child and have always made us and our children feel welcome no matter what. The coffee/barista talent speaks for itself, we have definitely been to hundreds, if not thousands, of coffee shops around the world between the two of us and definitely we always compare it to this gem! They have really cool events as well I've been to a couple of poetry nights. I don't drink alcohol but it being open late makes it a great place to have an evening tea or read a book in a different evening atmosphere.“

The lady who runs it is very kind and sweet. If your in west Philly definitely come if your not like me(East Falls) its worth the trip down. The T4 and T5 stop right in front of the cafe and its so worth it“

“Excellent food and service!! I came for the spanakopita and it didn’t disappoint!! They make it in house as well as all of the Greek food. The crust was perfect. I can’t wait to return to try the rest.

The pastries are made by a local bakery in S Philly.

They also make some flavored fun teas! I’ll have to come back for the coffee.

The staff I interacted with was really welcoming and informative. She took the time to explain the Greek items to me. Im excited to come back to continue trying the remaining menu items.“

“Can’t believe I forgot this one!! My fam went here when it was new. We used to live in Media and every now and then we visit just to feel normal again!!! This joint was cool, they have an upstairs and a little outside deck thing! Coffee was good! Daughter had some croissant thing if I remember correctly and she loved it!! The very nice cashier told us our daughter got big and I clutched my baby like it was the last Renzulli barber pole!!!! Here, it was the sister of a girl that dated my baby nephew Billy!!! “Today I stopped at The Hungry A. I have driven buy there many times. As I walked in the owners and people in there all greeted me like they know me. I had a coffee and it was one of the best I ever had. The breakfast sandwich was delicious. I will be be back. But what really got to me I walk with a cane and one of the girls there saw I was having a hard time she came around the counter and took what I was carrying and helped me to my car. Today there are not many people that are kind as she was. It made me know that there is still kind people in this world. If every would take the time to be kind to someone just once maybe it could be a start to make this world just a little better“

“My first visit to Hens and Honey Shoppe was to grab a coffee and a sandwich to-go. The cafe was busy and I noticed that everyone seemed to be focused on those at their table; relaxed and enjoying the welcoming vibe. Staff were super friendly and attentive. I have been looking for a good chicken salad since my mom stopped packing my lunches many years ago. :-) The fresh croissant was LOADED with delicious chicken salad that took me back. The side salad was lovely; covered in fresh fruit. Food like this, made with their hearts, will make you swear off eating on the go and multi-tasking at lunch. When you visit, you will want to gather a fork, friends and/or your thoughts, sit down and enjoy.“

“Not the prettiest cafe I’ve been to. They could decorate more. I had the egg tart it was incredible. Focaccia sandwich phenomenal. The only thing that was bad was the matcha latte iced. If you look at the photo you can see the powder was not properly sieved which made it taste very watery.“
