“A great place. Been open many years. Recently on TV for their Anniversary. Sometimes crowded but they are quick and move fast. You can get breakfast sandwiches all day which is a plus. Coffee very good, another plus. Only takes cash, no big deal to me. Grew up in South Philly and local neighborhood places the same. (They graciously fixed it though) - One time they gave me an oat milk latte instead of a whole milk latte. (Again they fixed it. ) -During yet another visit I waited 10 minutes for a latte...not because they forgot or were busy but because the orders in front of me had to be redone because they were wrong. It's a great place and I hope the owner reads this review to improve the training of the employees.“
“Love love love what Val did with the new location! So many fun latte flavors and the decor is really awesome! If you’re a swiftie (I am not but I can appreciate it) then it’s definitely a must!So happy for Val and her team with the bigger location. She is so kind and supportive of other local businesses and deserves all the good things!The food looked delicious but didn’t have a chance to get anything other than a bagel just due to a time crunch I was under. Bagel was very good and tasted like a New York bagel! It’s had to find good bagels down this way.Definitely a spot that I can’t wait to go back to with my girlfriends for brunch or to try a coffee flight!There are some tables in the front that have some merchandise like her old boutique had but it is definitely on the smaller end. “Yesterday morning, I stopped here for breakfast after seeing they offer vegan options on Happy Cow, and it hit the spot. The cafe was clean and organized. The staff were very friendly and fun, and even though there were several guests before me, I didn’t have to wait long. They have plenty of outdoor seating and a few tables inside. I got a spiced coffee with oat milk which was really tasty, and a vegan Philly muffin breakfast sandwich with hummus. I was very satisfied with the amount of food I received and the flavors. The everything Philly muffin is the way to go! I decided to grab a vegan scone on the way out which made for a delicious fika in a nearby park later. “Buna Cafe is such a gem in the neighborhood. I’ve not had a chance to dine in yet, but their food via delivery has been outstanding. It’s always well-presented and carefully packaged, which just isn’t the case for all food deliveries. I’ve tried a number of the vegan sides, but I’ve found my groove with the veg platter, and it just makes me so happy! The shiro is amazing—smooth and creamy and so flavorful! I sometimes get it as a side in addition to the platter to have some to enjoy the next day. Definitely worth a visit or placing an order!“

You may have to wait for a seat, and the order takes about 5-10 minutes to fill. Wonderful if you are not in a rush. There is an interesting mix of people, from the homeless guy angling for a free coffe, to the serious millennials on their laptops. Dogs are welcome as well, so it's a fun and lively atmosphere. “The wait staff here runs on top speed the entire time and it appeared everyone was being served as best can be expected. Unfortunately one staff member, I am guessing the manager, didn’t have the sense of urgency that was being demonstrated by the other workers. Tables needed clearing and he walked right by them. Many people waiting to be seated. All hands on deck!! Clearing a table, bringing out a dish or two is not beneath you. Lead by example. Kudos to the staff who obviously have to carry this dead weight. It would be 5 star service if not for this slug.“
“For those of you who frequent cafe isla and have not tried media bakers guild granola yet, you should! I am an in-home trainer and I’ve been giving it to my clients who are addicted to it. So now , they all ask if I can pick them up some. But It’s ok because I’m usually out too and I love it also . It’s the best granola I’ve ever had, it’s prepared very thinly sliced with just the right amount of sweetness. I love it with some Fage greek yogurt, which is low in sugar, and a scoop of Noah’s honey that is also sold at the cafe. Check it out , it’s very yummy!“

Service was top-notch, Irish sausage was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, French toast was yummy! “I am so thankful that this restaurant came up as a sponsored restaurant on Uber Eats. I saw that the estimated delivery time was only 15 minutes and not too far from my house, so I decided to give it a try! I ordered the Chicken Cheesesteak Combo with french fries, provolone cheese, and fried onions. I also ordered the Mango Raspberry Lemonade. The food was made and already on its way SUPER quickly which I was impressed by. When I received the food, my drink was in an adorable small bag which perfectly fit the drink, and it even had a tamper-free seal on top! When I opened my bag, I saw a cute little note from the restaurant thanking me for ordering (and it had my name which made it even more personal, so lovely!) I also was given a complimentary fruit cup which I didn't realize I was receiving which was great! Now let's talk about the food: The Mango Raspberry Lemonade was absolutely delicious! I at first was a little nervous because the picture on Uber Eats makes it appear more red (perhaps predominantly raspberry), but my drink was more orange (more predominantly mango). But it tastes absolutely delicious and I love that there's no pulp or pieces of floating fruit inside. The chicken cheesesteak was the BEST chicken cheesesteak I've ever had (not even exaggerating). It had a slight spice to it which was really good! I also loveddd the fries, I think they were double battered? They had a perfect crunch! I absolutely will order from here again!!!“
