“Thank you for this exceptional gastronomic experience! The service was very kind and the chef Matheus is fantastic. We think Zazah has to be the best restaurant in Lisbon.
We will be back (hopefully) soon!

“An absolute gem for tinned seafood lovers. The excellent selection of seafood, paired with ice-cold beer, is perfect on a hot June day. While my personal favorite was the Portuguese-style stuffed squid, the variety guarantees you'll find something to your liking. Plus, the tinned seafood makes a perfect souvenir from Portugal.“

“I think I have never eaten anything tastier. Each dish was an explosion of taste, and the sweet rice for dessert was a control shot. The service was also great. The establishment clearly deserves more than 5 stars. Good luck and prosperity.“

“This is one of my favorite places in Lisbon.
An excellent example of traditional Portuguese cuisine, well executed with simple techniques.
Excellent product and very good treatment of it.
The dishes are abundant, especially the main ones.
Attentive and fun service. You leave the premises with a smile and the desire to return.
The place is a bit small and gets a little noisy when there are a lot of people, which is usually the case.
It is advisable to reserve in advance.“

“Top croissant in Lisbon!
The scrambled eggs and the poached eggs are also very good.
Açaí bowl is in balance with the granola and with the fruit.
Only things what l don’t like here are the drinks (l tried: orange juice, smoothies, ice latte).“
“Nous sommes venus ici pour dîner sur ma dernière nuit à Lisbonne. Pendant que nous mangions sorte de tard c'était assez donc mes amis et moi avons pu vraiment profiter de notre conversation. Le service était excellent et ils ont eu la gentillesse d'expliquer certains des plats sur le menu qui est faite de la cuisine essentiellement locale. C'est un prix raisonnable et la nourriture goûts incroyable. Vraiment j'espère avoir l'occasion d'y retourner.“

“Wonderful venue in Bairro Alto. We arrived here by chance after a tiring but wonderful walk up high. The kids, very young, welcomed us even though it was 4 in the afternoon. The tables outside hosted several people from all over the world. We ate very well, the menu was limited but very satisfying, all the dishes were delicious.
Competitive prices. Absolutely to return“

“Homemade and tasty food. They should have more variety. As for the desserts, I didn't like the fact that they were in cups, the quantity should have been more generous, the apple pie could have come with a scoop of ice cream, that's a tip.“

“Pretty good, cod croquettes and pika pau are two good choices and if you like tartar here they make it very, very good to my taste. Advisable. I haven't taken photos but the appearance of the place is very correct although some fans would be nice.“

“This quiet little restaurant is a great spot for date night. My wife and I loved our gourmet burgers (mine had a "drippy" fried egg, and hers was topped with goat cheese, walnuts & honey), along with a pitcher of delicious homemade sangria. Service was excellent and we thought that the prices were quite reasonable. Highly recommended!“

“A super nice small place with a few tables on the hill. Definitely our favourite place for a drink or a small bite in Alfama. Service is always friendly, professional, and quick. Tuna-chickpea salad and the portuguese bruschettas are super nice. An extra plus for being able to listen to the Fado music from the next door restaurant. and a plus plus for happy hour (17-19) sangria :D
Vegetarian options: Many different cheese (goat cheese, azores cheese etc) options on salads and sandwiches. Limited on vegan options. If you eat fish there's loads to choose from.“

“We said we were Spanish and a waiter came to speak to us in Spanish. He told us that the appetizer dishes were charged and that we could remove what we didn't want, so we were left with three. The ham was very good but the cut failed. They advised us on the menu. My husband's dish took a long time to bring and they invited him and did not charge for his dessert... the deference came out of them. We were three. Modest wine and a dessert in mind. 150 euros. Good food but it wasn't spectacular either“
“I just walked across this restaurant while exploring the central Lisbon area, and I absolutely adored the food here I think it was one of the best meals I had in Lisbon. They serve a wide array of different tapas, and they have a great wine selection as well. I cannot emphasize how delicious the food was here, and I even enjoyed the octopus croquettes more than I enjoy the croquet in Spain. We also ordered some truffle risotto and jam and cheese on toast, all of which were so yummy. The staff was also friendly, and the service was fast. Most importantly, the location here is great so you could stop for a quick bite to eat and nice drinks while exploring the neighborhood. They have a very nice outdoor seating area. “Very good service, very quick to serve and very efficient!
The food was excellent, very well prepared and the prices were fair, taking into account the area where the restaurant is located.
Restaurant with Spanish roots, for those who like it, the ideal is to eat tapas.
I recommend it ??“

“Laid-back creative bistro with seasonal sharing plates and a pure selection of terroir-driven wines (that I did not taste because I don’t drink but maybe one day again). Warm atmosphere and welcoming staff. A unique dining experience with a stunning variety of tastes and textures. Ordered five plates including dessert. The Ceviche de jaca verde was a great start introducing me to the imaginative world of Senhor USA with mythical blends between each fruit and the tangy touch from the red onion.
The Curgete was by far my favorite providing a blend of succulent flavors between every ingredient. The Pleurotus was alluring with its fusion of ingredients, surprising enough everything went well together even though I’m not a fan of some of the ingredients individually. The arroz, kale and espinafre plate was rich and slightly heavier than I expected. The sea asparagus was the highlight for me as its texture provided the perfect balance in the dish.
Unfortunately the Parfait de Morango wasn’t to my likening due to the cold overbearing the flavor and the dislike in its semi solid form.
The waiters and chefs provided a cozy atmosphere and it was a good experience.“

“Totally family-friendly place where you will eat very fresh grilled fish. Homemade food 100x100
You share the same table with other customers.
I recommend it, if you are going to eat delicious, cheap, and go somewhere else to have an after-dinner meal.
The only downside is that you come out smelling like charcoal... but it made up for me because of how good the food was.“

“Magnifique restaurant et surtout bar à vins avec une cave extraordinaire, dans un cadre chaleureux.
Les tapas et plats sont très élaborés et faits maison, à partager ou en solo.
Les conseils du serveur sur le choix des vins est très pertinent, il était à l’écoute de nos goûts et a su trouver les bons accords mets/vins.
Service un peu long cependant avec un restaurant bondé.
Réservation conseillée.“

“We reserved a table for 9, we got there in perfect time, they told us we called the wrong number, we checked with the restaurant owner and it was the exact same phone number you can find here, we tried to call the number in front of them and they hanged it in front of us. Unfortunately we don't understand Portuguese but they were clearly talking about us negatively. Reading comments we could understand they don't like foreigners that look "poor" and prefer to take reservations just for drinking and not eating. If you want to try and go there just know you can get rejected just because they don't like you by your look.
Good luck i guess.
EDIT: I'll keep the last comment because I think it should be clear what happened, they called us the next day saying sorry, they had a problem with a new manager, the "old" one asked if we wanted to go back to the place the next day, we did and they offered us a lot of food and drinks and they apologized, the food was grate and the "old" manager was really a awesome person, very pleasant dinner“

“I really liked this place.
Sat on a really nice patio.
We had good service.
We ordered the very tangy garlic shrimp and excellent, tender steak with mushrooms.
The food was excellent.
This restaurant was recommended to us from multiple people and it did not disappoint. Excellent choice!!!!“

“My boyfriend and I went to lunch. The decoration transports you to the Middle Ages, what's more, the waitresses are dressed according to the era, and they perfectly recommended the quantities to us. We ordered chorizo, which came with bread and knuckle with chestnuts and potatoes. Both dishes were exquisite.
We paid €36 for the two dishes and two drinks, which seemed cheap for the amount we ate.“

“We ate here twice, both times the service and food were excellent! The staff was so welcoming and prepared the food with care and expertise. They were so accommodating, they prepared a big salad on our request as we hadn't had a salad for a while and needed some greens. Thank you for such wonderful food. ?“

“Lovely atmosphere in this restaurant plus it’s just a few minutes walk from the miradouro de Santa luzia. The waiter serving me was really lovely, and he was patient while taking my order. Quality food, local restaurant, great vibes, perfect price, not much more I can say for this restaurant.“

“This is a very small restaurant near Jardim da Graca. You can also sit outside, which adds to the charm. We tried various puff pastries that I can highly recommend. The portions were very large and filling. Price-wise, it was extremely fair for us. After eating, you can walk to Jardim da Graca, where you'll find a beautiful view of a part of the city. The combination of great food, reasonable prices, and the nearby scenic spot makes this place a wonderful choice.“

“Chapito has amazing views over Lisbon and the river. Service is fantastic and menu is small but sufficient. We had beef cheeks and they were very delicious, although served a bit cold and portions to the small side. Guinea fowl was fine but nothing special, the prok carre was very undercooked but the garnish was good. We tried all three deserts and they were marvelous. Recommended.“

“Another hidden gem off the main tourist area.Local Portuguese food, simple but tasty. Can recommend the pork and sole.House white wine was inexpensive and excellent.Sweet rice dessert also delicious.Like some local restaurants we were given a salad and meat apetitiser which we didn't request and then they charge you. That said they weren't expensive and we enjoyed them both but if you don't want then send them back.“

“Fantastic restaurant and a perfect place for some authentic portuguese food.
We asked the waitress what’s the best fish, she said she don’t like fish. How can you not like fish when the fish is cooked to perfection at this place? The squid was swimming in the portuguese sea which is not The Atlantic Ocean but olive oil and garlic. Tasted perfect.
If you forgot your tie just steal one from here. Don’t tell them I told you.
Até à próxima.“

“It's the second time I've gone and I like it more each time.... The place is small but that's what makes it much better.... You have many very good cocktails, both the waiters and the owner 10/10
Parking: It is difficult to park, you have to take turns here and there, but in the end you park with patience.“

“If you want something original, truly Portuguese, this is the place for you. And that's what we wanted. ONLY locals sit here and that's a good sign. The place is so retro that it's a cult again. Neon lettering, all in light gray or stainless steel. There's a TV on in the corner (like in many places here, even in finer places ?. ) You see what you get in a huge glass fridge next to the counter. There's a little bit of everything - when it's sold out it's gone. We had two bitoque (steak with rice, fries, salad and egg), grilled chicken and grilled salmon. Everything was enough and excellent. I had seen the Bitoque at the next table and so I decided to go for it. But there are also variations that are more “fancy” such as: B. Filet or Steak Café de Paris. Since there is a clear language barrier (only Portuguese), communication seems a bit difficult at first, but the nice waiters try hard and then it works. Price/performance is incredible, absolutely recommended! So I eat the menu up and down... ??❤️“

“It's one of the restaurants I visit most often. Although it is preferable to make a reservation, as it is very popular, the fact is that I am always well received, even without doing so.
I'm a fan of fish dishes and this place always presents a variety of options where the right cooking and seasoning are the rule. Furthermore, I never had any doubts about the quality and freshness of the protein.
Today I decided on a generous portion of swordfish.
Everything 5 stars.
Good beer
Good wine list
Good desserts“

“Absolute recommendation, off the beaten path in a small alley, great tapas, very nice atmosphere, friendly waiters and no mass tourism. We would come back at any time. Where the waiters eat their own food during the break, it has to be good and authentic. Special requests are also taken into account if you want to change or add something to the dishes. Thumbs up for Mercearia Castello and thank you for a great afternoon.“

“We had a nice dinner. I recommend the shrimp curry with rice. It has a soft nice flavour. Nice server which explained us some of dishes.
I would say it would be nice if they’d play some music in the background. We were here quite early and alone at the beginning so that would’ve been nice.“

“So many encounters
An absolutely exquisite atmosphere. The servers welcomed us and a strong bond was formed between our group of customers and our 2 wonderful servers.
Joke after joke, they were at the forefront of humor but always without exceeding the limits of courtesy.
The food was tasty and we were able to discover local specialties.
Little extra: the interior is decorated with pipes and creates a really nice atmosphere
Bom Dia!“
