“I'm not sure what most of the recent reviews were talking about when they wrote their reviews. My partner and I travel all around the Ottawa region to new or underappreciated restaurants and leave honest Google reviews. It is clear to see that the owners have taken action with this location and have updated their staff to reflect a restaurant worthy of an honorable mention. My partner and I went to an early dinner and tried multiple different meal options to truly see the capabilities of their chef and of the waiter. To start, I would like to point out how nice it was to eat inside. Though not a modern look, the layout was very welcoming and properly themed. Also, tables and chairs were convenient for people of all sizes and offered indoor and outdoor seating options upon request. As for the service, I would not expect a 5 star service from this establishment, but I was surprised to see how friendly yet professional the staff was during our whole experience. It is clear that the owners take care of their employees, and it shows it the quality of their service as well. Now, for the food, I did not like their pho. There are better places that offer a more flavorful pho with more ingredients. However, their wonton soup have left my partner and I craving for more. It was a perfect balance of vegetables and broth, with perfect bite size wonton seasoned to perfection. They are clearly handmade and were the star of the show. We ordered an appetizer portion to share, but we'll be coming back very soon for meal portions as well. We also ordered their vermicelli (pork, shrimp, and vegetables), which was honestly better than any other location in Ottawa to date. It could have used more pork to balance the perfectly fried vegetables, but times are tough. Lastly, we ordered a seafood sizzle plate to truly test the chef's skills. My hat goes off to the chef since I was pleased to receive perfectly cooked calamari (far from chewy but not raw), and the plate was indeed sizzling! I strongly recommend pairing with some white rice as the sauce is worthy of being eaten as well.“

“Very cute little restaurant just off of the main street, the food was absolutely divine and the waitress was so so polite about everything and incredibly helpful in teaching us how we should eat the food we ordered and was quick to answer about ingredients in the fish sauce to prevent an allergic reaction with a bright smile the whole time, i would absolutely recommend to anyone new to Vietnamese food.

“Great vermicelli pork and spring roll bowl! You can choose how many toppings you want, and the price is quite good. Their vietnamese coffee with condensed milk is delicious too. “We went during the Victoria Day long weekend after going to the Ottawa Tulip Festival. All restaurants were busy that weekend and although we made a reservation at a different restaurant, they reached capacity and the long wait would have gotten us late to see the fireworks and drone show. This restaurant was able to seat us and the two girls working there were so accommodating, patient and sweet. Food was great and the decor was cute! Will definitely go again to try other dishes.“

“If I could give a 100/10 for service I would! The owner once we walked in said take out only after 9pm... he saw how frozen we were coming in from -27°, said no problem you sit! Ordered two medium well done x2 beef pho and stirfry lemongrass beef vermicelli. Asked to make the pho spicy. THE FLAVORS WERE INCREDIBLE! Everything came out hot and quick! Perfect spot to warm up after a cold cold night. Deff a must try! 10/10 Big thanks to the nicest staff! 🙏🏾“

“First of all，I felt so bad that my brain wasn't function so well that I left the 3 dollars for tips on my bill. Should have asked the male server tonight to exchange the 10 or 20 dollars bill so I can tip him a little more (to him and the owner who asked us if we need hot tea on this cold fall day). The waiter today have helped us feel very much welcomed in the store (even tho he was a little bit shy to my observation). Very informative when we asked him for recommendation and very nice guy. If I was anyone who have had bad experience about the food, I wouldn't be mad if he was the waiter.
The food was quite okay, there are some food option that we really like from VietNam but couldn't be found in AB, this definitely a +. The flavor was Okay not bad but also not the top (we had hủ tiếu xào aka stir fried large size noodles and thịt kho tộ aka pork stew in hot bowl). For hủ tiếu xào I like the sweet of the cabbage mix it to the sauce, couldn't go wrong l. Too bad that I was expecting more sauce and thicker texture. The large size noodle from my point of view was not handmade, if was a little bit more cook to get darker color and smoked smell, it would be awesome like what would be done exactly in Chinese restaurant in VietNam.
For thịt kho tộ, I can smell and taste the pepper as what it should be for this kind of meal you would have. Only a - point was the color was a bit muddy deal to ingredients they add to the bowl. The pork was sliced like beef was maybe a little bit not what you would expected from this dish in VietNam but that wouldn't be a problem to my experience.
The place was well organized in bright and clean.
Parking was a bit tough.
In general, a 4++ (4,4) and I would recommend friend to come try. (Just the food haven't stand out too much to give m a Wow)“

I enjoy the Rare Beef Pho, and often get the shrimp or pork rice rolls.
One advantage is this place is close to the office. So I can drop in and the food is always quick.
All the food is delicious!
Staff are always attentive, even in a Bass Pro Shop hat.

“We visited this restaurant for dinner as a family on a Saturday evening. The food was excellent even though it took a little longer than anticipated. We ordered one house special pho, one lemongrass chicken vermicelli, one fried chicken poke and one salmon poke.

The server apologized for the delay. It was a busy night with the restaurant full of patrons as well as many take-out orders. Perhaps this was the reason contributing to why it took longer for the food to arrive than anticipated.

It was a pleasant experience overall. I will return if I am nearby the area next time on a weeknight perhaps.“

“Good Banh Mi must have liver pate, a little mayo or aioli, birds eye chilli paste, pickled veg, meat, and a fresh baked bun that is crunch in the outside but still light and airy on the inside. I lived in Hoi An, Bourdain's self-proclaimed Banh Mi capital of Vietnam, so I know what it takes to make a good one.

This is good here, but ultimately misses the mark in the special touches that take it from a regular sub sandwich to a proper Banh Mi. Hoping they improve on the little things and it could become the best in the city!“

“I know most people will likely be coming here for the pho or noodles, but they serve the best General Tso's chicken you'll ever have in your life. The service can admittedly be a bit slow - but i can guarantee you it's all worth it for the general Tso's chicken. The combination of flavours and veggies that go with the perfectly cooked chicken is immaculate. It's everything you want in a crispy and saucy fried chicken dish, but without being overwhelmingly greasy: instead, it's fresh, tender, and beautiful. Again, come for the pho - and stay for the general Tso's chicken.“

“We had an amazing meal at Merivale Noodle House! We ordered the roasted quail, which was perfectly cooked — crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and full of flavor. I also tried the Bún bò Huế (Hue-style beef noodle soup). The portion was huge, the broth was rich and flavorful, and it came with plenty of fresh herbs and toppings.
