“Had a great time at Tinc Set on a Saturday evening with a group of 6. Milan took really good care of us and the food was delicious. We tried many of the tapas, as well as, all of the mains and sides. Wine was really good and the churros were bomb!
Definitely recommend visiting and tasting as many of the dishes as you can!“

“There is much to admire on the elegant, well-lit terrace of this natural wine-fueled, Catalan-inspired restaurant. Waitresses wearing plastic face shields as Hassidic men walked by in giant black fur hats created a vibe somewhere between science fiction and shtetl. But it was the creative, lovingly prepared food that I won’t soon forget: charred radishes, rotisserie chicken slow-cooked on a vintage rotisserie oven and grilled octopus with patatas bravas that momentarily transported me to the Spanish coast. All presided over by Lindsay Brennan, one of the best natural wine sommeliers in town.“

“Although all dishes were good, I think the only one which blew me away and I find myself reminiscing about is the buckwheat cake. There is truly something so unique and special with how balanced it is in terms of sweetness, but also its play with textures, and uniqueness compared to other dessert offerings.
The wine selection was also really good. We used the opportunity to sample several wines by the glass. In this regard my highlight was the rosé Chair a Canon from Dunham. Its fruity notes were beautifully blended and smooth.“

“We booked a wine tasting activity for a group with Simon (Agence Primavin) with optional charcuterie and cheese platters. I would highly recommend this activity for a group event, Simon was able to adapt to the needs of the group! The activity took place on the restaurant's interior terrace a little before the restaurant opened. Everything was perfect!“

“So, this review is a little different from most, because people often come to a place one time experience a good thing and drop a positive review. I on the other hand expect consistency and I am a little on the OCD side, especially when I travel. That just means I find the restaurants that I like and I have been known to eat the same meals two days in a row. One of the things that stands out immediately to me is that for the most part you have the same staff working dinner or evening shifts as you do the brunch on Saturday and Sunday. This makes for long days but it produces consistency. Timeliness and courtesy are number one for the ladies on the floor. Attention to detail is critical to the men on the cookline, as each plate comes out as an arrangement of food, not simply a pile of ingredients. I was in Montreal for a conference from Friday to Sunday so I was able to eat 2 dinners and 2 brunches, and I have to say they were quite exceptional. I do give the brunch a slight tip of the cap for being more consistent of the two meals and having the best consistency with the Big Brunch, the Americano, and the fresh squeezed juice. It is probably one of the best breakfast/brunches I have had since Verviers, Brussels in 2019. The Big Brunch consisted of fried sunny side up eggs, a sausage, fried potatoes with hollandaise, cubed fresh tomato, sourdough toast, fresh Americano, and fresh orange and grapefruit juice. The flavors work together to complement each other with the eggs having been lightly peppered by the chef and maybe fried in the salty fat from the sausage to give them the right amount of seasoning. Dinner the first day I had a beer and a ribeye prepared medium rare with pepper seasoning and a brown gravy accompanying the pureed potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly. The next night I had the charcutier meat with sourdough, which was a nice assortment of the traditional fare one might find. It would have been nice to have found a smaller plate that include both meat and cheese. I did have a bottle of the California 2020 Elizabeth Spencer Cab and it paired well with everything, sometimes a little fruity and others a little spicy depending on how the notes hit the palette. Dinner was the same as the night before, but although the ribeye was ordered medium rare it came out more to medium. That was a little disappointing, but still satisfying in the end. To finish my meal I had the brownie with pecan crumble and sauce which finished off the bottle of Cab perfectly. This morning I had an amazing brunch again, and now I must say adieu as I head to the airport to return home.“

“After several visits in just one month, I can say that this café is officially one of my favorites in Montreal, especially for studying? The individual tables are large enough to accommodate 2 computers and there are numerous sockets. The place is also very aesthetic with its high ceiling and its shrubs which bring serenity. The entrance is quite discreet, which enhances the experience. I tried the mocha and the pumpkin spice latte as well as the tomato soup and the grilled cheese, everything is very tasty. I can only highly recommend this address!!“

“Cute date spot. Highly recommend going with a reservation. The menu is supposed to constantly change. Classic French with a bit of a twist. Definitely a go to if you like to order a bunch of different small plates to share. Get the dessert. The carrot cake ice cream cake with toffee dripping was amazing. Would go back just to have that again.“

“I stopped in for a drink or two, and wow. Mignon makes some of the best martinis I've ever had. We sat at the bar, and the bartenders were so friendly, yet professional. Montréal is one of my all-time favorite cities to visit, and Mignon is a perfect example of why that is. Next time I'm in town, I'm stopping by for the full restaurant experience (plus another amazing martini).“

“Beautiful restaurant at a very unconventional spot. Everything from the minute we walked in was perfect. Emily greeted and seated us on their terrace, which is both covered and heated, so you don’t have to worry if it’s raining or a little chilly. They brought a plate of their sourdough focaccia, olives and olive oil while we were looking at the food and drink menus.
We started with a mixed appetizer plate which included beef, lamb and pork arrosticinis, chopped up razor clams, mussels and halibut crudo. We also tried the white fish croquettes, fried polenta and the tomato focaccia. Delicious ??
For primi, we shared a tagliatelle dish with chanterelles and pancetta.
The secondi was a perfectly cooked striploin which was accompanied by broccolini and fries.
We ended the night by sharing two tiramisus between the 4 of us, as we were pretty full from all the food.
I highly recommend this restaurant whether it’s for a night out with friends, a dinner between couples or even for corporate lunches/dinners. The service we got from Emily was as good as service can get!“

“Randomly walked in this place and was surprised how good it is. Service is quick although the place was packed, We tried the special stingray and steak dishes, very tasty although the ray is a bit difficult to eat and doesn't have much meat. Focaccia bread was amazing. Menu changes often so the best is to take the tasting chef menu. Although it's very good, it feels overpriced for the simple seating and service.“

The wine list caters more to a light French wine preference, so if you’re like me and enjoy something more full bodied, you might be disappointed. The food was quite good. The liver moose with apple sauce was amazing, and the mushrooms, oatmeal and parmesan was good, but a little too heavy for my taste. Definitely a lot of fun to bring a date and explore an area of Montreal that’s getting more and more popular every year.“

Quand la bouteille de rouge la MOINS chère est à 92$ pour des plats à 18$ ou 28$ c'est suffisamment décevant pour enlever l'envie d'y retourner. il y a d'excellents vins d'importation à des prix plus raisonnables...“

“We celebrated my mother’s 84th birthday at Portovino Restaurant for Sunday’s brunch. We were 20 people and from the time I made the reservation to the end, the level of service was amazing. The owners and staff offer the upmost incredible service. The ambiance, service and food was beyond our expectations. I highly recommend this restaurant for the delicious food and friendly service. And as an added bonus, it’s Bring your own Wine. Many thanks to Costa and his wife for making my mother’s birthday celebration so memorable!! My family and I will definitely return!“

“We just happened upon this place as we ate nearby and we’re looking for a place to have a cocktail before heading home. It turned out to be a great choice as their bartender was very skilled at making cocktails - both the traditional ones as well as the newer trendy ones.
