“Started going here for lunch because I work nearby. Absolutely delicious food with a wide range. From schnitzels, choripanes, tacos, stews, etc., it always hits the spot.

Every week they create a set lunch menu for each day of the week (though there are some staples like tacos on Friday!) and you also get a side of either homemade soup or salad. They are solidly sized portions and I often find myself unable to finish the entire meal and saving some to snack on later. For the lunch orders (side and meal) it’s approx. $13 give or take a dollar. cash or e-transfer (upon request).

They also have great breakfast options. A fully stacked egg, cheese, tomato, lettuce, and bacon sandwich was $6.50!

“I like this place, but the WASHROOM IS NOT OPEN TO CUSTOMERS... and that is seriously not okay. When I come to sit and eat and drink food I am purchasing here, I don't think I should be expected to walk to the bathroom in Westmount Park. I do not want to give a non-recommendation review as it's been a rough time for businesses and the food and drinks at Mouton Noir are good - but if the bathroom policy remains in place, I don't see myself becoming a regular. There is no government rule that states that Cafes and restaurants have to keep their washrooms closed for customers.“

Right from the start, the atmosphere is great — calm, welcoming, and that beautiful green color palette gives the space such a fresh, cozy vibe 😌✨

One thing I really appreciate is how efficient the staff are ⏱️☕️. Even if I only have 5 minutes to spare, I can always count on getting my coffee on time without stress. That alone makes this place a lifesaver on busy days 🙌

The quality is consistently very good, definitely better than the nearby Olimpico in terms of taste. The beans were Ethiopian, which really showed through with brighter, cleaner flavors 🌍✨ However, I do have to say that the barista experience felt a bit limited — no real explanation or engagement about the beans or brew method, which felt like a missed opportunity.

One big issue for me:
When serving coffee in ceramic cups, the cups should be preheated 🔥☕️. Unfortunately, they weren’t — and the coffee cooled down way too fast. That’s a pretty significant downside, especially when you’re serving good-quality beans 😕❄️

That said, the staff are always kind, friendly, and genuinely warm 😊🤍. Beyond making great coffee, they really stand out when something unexpected happens — spills, confused customers, or anyone needing extra help. They step in quickly, graciously, and without attitude, which says a lot about the place 👏

“Came here for lunch recently with a friend, we ordered at the counter based on advice from other Google reviews. Had the quiche and the croque monsieur, both were very good. Appreciated that the croque monsieur was not greasy, the bread was also very good. For dessert we had a brownie and date square, brownie was excellent but the date square a bit pasty (unusual texture but perhaps it was gluten free?). Coffees were also good. Service was quite slow even though we ordered at the counter right of way. Terrace is very nice and in good condition for Montreal sidewalk terrace standards.“

“Started last Friday’s day off with a stop at the amazing Cafe dei Campi. Fully veganized Italian pastries and small pizzas. Soups and salads too but I stuck to the Italian specialties. Hazelnut filled tortellini melt in your mouth pastries. Amarettis and Biscotti. The essential Italian cafe’s big espresso machine which makes the perfect double espresso with the layer of crema and their cappuccino with perfect foam. Accompanied with a flaky delicious cornetto, it felt like heaven. Much chatting with my friend and a necessary second cornetto and espresso completed our visit by closing time. We had lucked out with a table. Had a great rest of the day that right from the start, arriving at the cafe there was a couple with their little boy wearing a Metallica t-shirt. Of course I had to comment, he was so cute and responsive to my speaking to him. And found out he’s a true fan of heavy metal music, this beautiful 4 year old boy named Sandro. “There is a huge selection of freshly roasted coffee from various roasters in the region. From what I understand, they rent the facility to do their roasting, and then sell their beans here, as well as at their cafes. Naturally, the place smells amazing! I had an espresso and an Americano to go. Both were excellent. The biscuits/scones are the best I’ve had in a long time…especially the plain ones with fresh cream and jam. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about all their products. The location is close to a path along the canal…a perfect stop during a bike ride or walk. Looking forward to my next visit!“
