“The food and cocktails were on point. We had the roasted Brussels sprouts and bacon wrapped scallops for appetizers. The scallops were smaller and lacked a good sear and the bacon lacked a good crisp, but the flavor of the scallops was fresh and sweet. The Brussels sprouts were a good size portion, tender, crisp and flavorful. Three of us had the Chicken Cordon Bleu and found it to be juicy, flavorful and a perfectly done preparation of this dish. I had the beef Wellington and would highly recommend. However, what really set this dinner apart was the absolutely impeccable service. The waitstaff was always right there to refill water glasses, provide fresh plates and cutlery as needed, take orders, etc but never hovered. At the conclusion of the meal, they were quick to bring our bill, quick to pick up payment and provide receipt, yet we never felt rushed to leave. They even refilled our water glasses after we had paid, making us fell welcome to linger and chat. It is rare to experience this level of hospitality outside of Europe and for this reason we will be back and I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to actually dine with friends.“

The chef delivers every time and Tara makes an amazing martini. They have become our year-round go-to in all of Westerly. In the fall/winter months, we love settling into a cocktail by their stone fireplace, which is the centerpiece of the Inn. In the summer months, having dinner while enjoying their Friday evening live music is the best way to start the weekend. “I have been dining at Wood River Golf for over 10 years maybe even closer to 20 they have had their ups and downs especially during "C". Dinner this past Saturday night was fabulous. Their chicken parmesan is still the best around. I can say with confidence I have never had a bad meal there. Prime rib Saturday was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend! I know everyone has been struggling to find good help but thank the Lord they have a strong family support system and a wonderful bartender who has always been loyal.“

This spot is a game-changer! Plenty of seafood options for the usual patrons, and the menu is clearly labeled with dairy-free and gluten-free options as well. They also offer a dedicated vegan dish that's NOT the usual veggie burger or pasta marinara. The Cold Soba Noodle Bowl wasn't just an afterthought—it was beautifully made, incredibly tasty, and came in a great portion size.

“We stopped in here randomly on our way to the Farmer’s Daughter Fall Festival. It was such a good experience it’s now part of our tradition. Our girls remembered, a year later, how much they enjoyed it. Allie’s has great food and service. And it starts at the top. The owner takes a lot of pride in the place . While we were there he came out and asked everyone if we were enjoying the food. And before I left he shook my hand and remembered who I was (from a year ago). The place is adjacent to a college campus (I went to URI so I found it reminiscing as I drove thru) so you might not think of it for a meal out with your family. But you should. And the prices are really fair for the portions you get. This is a business we need to support. We WILL return. At least once a year and more if possible.“
