“My fiancé and I stopped here on a Friday night for the first time. We had tried a handful of other bars in Newport that were all packed but when we walked into Bar 12 it was almost empty. I ordered the Secret Garden cocktail and was so impressed with the presentation! It tasted as good as it looked too! I stopped by again this past Friday with four of my friends and tried the lemon meringue drink this time. It was amazing- super sweet and tasted just like a lemon bar! The prices are really reasonable for the quality of the cocktails and the location. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night or small groups, the bathroom was super clean, and overall I’m just really shocked it wasn’t more crowded both times I went!“

“I visited about a week ago to grab food quickly before boarding my cruise. I was in a hurry because the cruise boarded soon, and I let them know. Despite being a bit short-staffed, they were very understanding and got me my food very quickly. Also, the fries are delicious! Thank you for being so patient and understanding.“
“Went with my son last week for the first time and had the muscles and chicken wings, both of which were incredible. We brought home the mac and cheese, dumplings and seasonal bread pudding. Everything was fantastic. we agreed it is the best restaurant around. I went again tonight with my husband. We had the friend oyster appetizer special and filet, both of which were incredible. Debbie was our waitress, and she was absolutely fantastic. So friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!“

“Today we made a pilgrimage to Basil Yu’s restaurant, Yagi Noodles. My son happened to see that Basil had become a successful restaurateur while he was watching one of Guy Fieri’s shows. We had become acquainted with Basil when we were all involved with a Boy Scout Troop in Manchester NH. We were disappointed to discover that Basil wasn’t at the restaurant, however we got over it when we found out it was due to a commitment to a fundraiser for the James Beard Foundation. Basil, You weren’t there, but your food is delicious. You get the Merit Badge! You weren’t there, but your staff is spectacular! You get the Merit Badge! We wish you continued success! “Went to the Coast Guard House for my daughter's birthday a couple of weeks ago. Our server Julie made us feel comfortable like family. She was very attentive taking care of every need we might have. The food was great. I will definitely be back. Hope I get Julie for a server again.“

“My brother, Walter, who is a chef always said just try it the way the chef intended. Our chef choice tasting menu was incredible tonight. We loved the pork ragu and our favorite was the fluke. Something my husband and I typically would not order proved to be our favorite dish. Giusto is a culinary experience not to miss. Kyle, Kevin, and Chef Will have created a masterpiece. Shout-out to the manager Katie for making sure our experience was extra special. Ethan are waiter was fantastic too. Thank you for a great parent's night out.“

“It was my first experience at Tong Ta today and the food was outstanding. I have eaten at Thai restaurants all over the United States including some of my favorites in NYC, Houston, San Jose, Boston, and TONG TA is among the best I’ve had and it’s local!. The Beef and basil sauce (Gra Pao) was fantastic, the beef was tender and flavorful, the veggies were perfectly cooked and the sauce was perfectly seasoned. The chicken satay was excellent as well. The service was fast and friendly and I’d recommend this place to anyone.“

“Wow, a top New York City type restaurant in Newport. Forget the losers comments from years ago. Dress like you’re going first class. Atmosphere here is awesome…2nd floor is special. Drinks are reasonable and delicious. Our server PATRICK WAS AMAZING. They explain specials and drinks. Most attentive and all foods were perfectly presented. Wanna another drink, ask and within 2 minutes it’s there. We had wild mushrooms and salmon that were incredible as appetizers. Caesar salad was fresh and lettuce crisp. Scallops special had my wife shaking her head. My seafood linguine was overflowing with fresh seafood. The dessert of “Snowball from Hell” can be shared. Our 54th anniversary was unreal. THANK YOU Park next door in Moorings lot.“
