“Luckily a friend told us about what to expect here otherwise we would’ve been totally confused. There are two separate businesses located in one location called “The Royal Bobcat” with OUI over the entrance. If that isn’t confusing enough you’ll need to walk thru the bar area to find a couple of menus on a small counter or, you can use the QR code on each table to peruse the menu. Ring the bell on the counter and someone will appear to take your food order. If you want drinks you order from the bar. We had the gumbo which was a small bowl of a Southern grandma’s comfort food. Next, the gooey chicken wings coated in a Korean finger lickin’ glaze and the vege dumplings – crispy and delicious although I have had better at another Korean restaurant. Overall, the food was good and I really like the vibe of the place with stained glass and sparkly lights in an intimate setting. My only slightly negative comment would be the bartendress who is low on the scale of friendly and definitely not a smiler. Bartending isn’t difficult. Really it isn’t. I bartended in my youth in strip clubs to huge nightclubs (which is probably why I can’t hear well now). Your job is to be a purveyor of liquid happiness with a side of charm. Cracking a smile now and again will can turn this bar into a beacon of joy amidst a delightful menu of seoulful bayou Korean-Cajun fusion concoctions.Parking: It's Federal Hill where parking is always a challenge.“
“Stopped in for lunch. Seated quickly. Lovely staff. Ordered quick and had food quick. It wasn’t really busy at all so that was also a plus.I ordered the Bulgogi Beef and it was so good. Flavor on point. Presentation on point. Rice was spot on. The kimchi was flavorful and bright. My only complaint was they give only a tiny amount of it.“
“One of my favorite restaurants in Providence. I always bring visitors here, and love trying something new each time. Favorites include the jap chae and the kimbop - they’re easily made vegetarian which is fantastic. I have never had a long wait here despite coming at busy times - they’re really on top of it!“
“CELIAC FRIENDLY....First time having Korean food. ABSOLUTELY DELISH! House made Korean hot sauce on the table. Advise..use sparingly!!! Appetizers are good, but you will be bringing home leftovers unless you are with a group. Had the Bibimbap with bulgogi beef. Can you say Oh My God!! so good! and the Kimchi is to die for! Definitely going back with the Family. They also can accommodate Gluten-free for Celiac, which is a plus for my daughter! Soju and house wine available, not sure about beer or other spirits.“
“The food is good and reasonably priced. If you like spicy, you can get spicy. If you don’t, you get get mild or non-spicy. The staff welcome you like family. I know that’s a cliché, but it’s true for Ichiban. Go. You will enjoy it.“
“Tried something new, Korean food in Providence, RI. Nice place with excellent service. Tried the Short Ribs and Mokban Raman. Before that we had Sweet Chili Dumplings as an appetizer. Food was not too spicy and very tasty. Wife also ordered Sake...she loved it.Will definately come back.“
“Absolutely delicious, inspired menu. The owner is a JWU alum from Korea and is passionate about providing great food that's affordable for students in the area. Can't go wrong with a Bento box for lunch or the Korean Fried chicken anytime!“
“I got the veggie stone pot bibimbap, which came with a cup of miso soup. A nice, healthy dinner! I liked the atmosphere - lots of wood and pretty lamps. The service was inattentive, unfriendly, and minimal, but the food came out okay and without a long wait.“
“I was a little concerned with some of the more recent reviews, but I'm very glad we ended up going! They were pretty busy, but we were seated quickly, filled out the order form, and had food on the table very quickly. The scallion pancake and chicken katsu were great. We ordered spicy pork belly, short rib, and bulgogi chicken, which were all delicious.Waitstaff was attentive and checked in a few times to make sure we were still doing okay. Also, it doesn't seem like they added a tip automatically -- seems to only be for parties of 5 or more people. We'll definitely be back!“
