“Five stars for the delicious treats, beautiful breakfast croissants, and flavorful coffee. Five stars for the peaceful outside dining area, and the warm and inviting cafe on the inside. Five stars for the staff who is always so gracious and lovely, minus the one time I was taken aback by the disrespect and unprofessionalism of one of the members. I hope that due to the poor choice of this staff member, that the members’misbehavior doesn’t reflect upon the teams’ sweet and wholesome image.“

The food here is absolutely top notch. The tuna crudo and the brussels were also wonderful, and the basque cheesecake was super yummy.

“It was my first experience at Tong Ta today and the food was outstanding. I have eaten at Thai restaurants all over the United States including some of my favorites in NYC, Houston, San Jose, Boston, and TONG TA is among the best I’ve had and it’s local!. The Beef and basil sauce (Gra Pao) was fantastic, the beef was tender and flavorful, the veggies were perfectly cooked and the sauce was perfectly seasoned. The chicken satay was excellent as well. The service was fast and friendly and I’d recommend this place to anyone.“

“What a fantastic dining experience my family had tonight. Cocktails were superb, my rare tuna tacos were not only the best tacos I’ve ever eaten, it was one of the top 3 meals I’ve ever had. My wife had the rib eye melt which was equally as delicious, and my daughter loved her Mac & cheese and green beans. I started with white chowder which is typically good no matter where you get it in New England, but there’s was excellent. As good as the food was, it was the service from Alexa that made it so memorable. She was friendly and accommodating like any server would or should be, but she went beyond that making us feel like friends and family. Extra kudos to her for being a superstar. All in all, this was a 10+ dining experience even though the best is 5. Back 40 and their sister restaurants are all the best that RI has to offer.“

“Went there last night 6/9 I was a little disappointed that I did have to wait to place my order for a nasty customer in front of me with a bad attitude who took her time harassing the staff. However, once I was able to get to the front counter and place my order I was delighted by the friendly enthusiastic employee Robert who helped me figure out what I wanted to eat. The manger was also very professional and friendly. He also was complimenting and encouraging the other two staff members as I was walking out. little things just make me feel happier giving my money to some places over others. Enjoyed the Lobster Roll, homemade chips, wine and key lime cheesecake! Our waitress was super attentive and efficient. Prices are fair, if you plan to have more than one glass of wine...in some cases it's more cost efficient to buy the bottle! There is a takeout window and a Tiki Bar on George's beach. Next time, we plan to stay there for the day! Great views of all the boats made for a really wonderful day.“

“Great food, great service, honestly my favorite restaurant in Charlestown; we have previously sat in both the tavern and the dining room but this time we sat in a quaint small side room with a fireplace; chatted with the diners at the table next to us who were two 80 year old sisters that spent their summers as children in Charlestown and had not been back in 50 years; so we made new friends and had another great experience at General Stanton.“

“Our family has been coming here since at least the 1950's. Due to limited parking we try to arrive on off-hours. Most times there is Still a line out the door. This time, it was the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend. We wanted to make sure we got our Chowder & Clamcakes before the season's close.
After a few circles, we finally found parking. There Was a line to the door, but it moved along quickly.
We waited about 5 minutes for our order to be ready.
As it was the end of the season, we were able to take our meal into the spacious dining room and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Considering the dining room wasn't manned, the tables and floor were clean.
The food was steaming hot and beyond delicious!
Truly a fitting end to Summer.

Parking: Tiny lot on the side of the building. It can fill up, Instantaneously, on busy Summer days. There are a few parking spots, for the handicapped, out front. Other than that...?“
