“The food was WONDERFUL. The waiter was great. Those are the most important items to us!!!!The hostess was not very welcoming or engaging. The original table she took us to was not acceptable but she said nothing else available. I got back up and looked around and found an unoccupied table that would seat 4 and when I requested to be switched I really had to be pushy but she finally reluctantly did switch us. It still wasn't a great table but very much better than the 1st location. Other than that I would certainly go back, the food, drinks, and service outstanding.“
“Phenomenal place! Both owners were extremely kind and were happy to inform us on all the different meads that they had. The inside of the place was small but very well decorated. All of the meads were delicious and very different from one to another. Before I left I purchased a bottle of their Sour Cherry Mead. Will be back!“
“Obviously the owner prioritizes beer being cold. Our draft beers were cold and filled to the top. They also have a bunch of bottled beer in the bar area on ice. Our food was good solid bar food. If you like corned beef, they make their own and I recommend the open faced “mini” that was piled high. Onion rings were a great side and the Patty Melts were good. The home made Italian dressing has a mustard taste to it, so be aware if you don’t like mustard. Great local place near the outlet mall, if you need a quick bite and COLD beer after shopping you should stop in.“
“We went to a family lunch to celebrate the birthday of my sister-in-law. Since we are originally from Buffalo, you can imagine how much we enjoy R Bar. There are all the foods we are accustomed to from our hometown. There was a very pleasant and courteous waiter at our table. In spite of the fact that he entered all of our orders correctly, there was a little mishap in the kitchen between mine and my sister-in-law's sandwich. We swapped what we could between her order and mine so they would not have to remake my sandwich and she would simply need a new one. Upon explaining what we had done, a lady in a Pittsburgh Penguins shirt emerged from the back abruptly asking in a rude tone, "tell me what is wrong with this sandwich". She replied, "Well it's already half eaten," while she touched with her bare naked hands, expecting my pregnant sister-in-law to take it back. Please note that it was not half eaten, I still had the other part on my plate, and she indicated that she required it back in order to prepare a completely new sandwich. In an effort to appease such a miserable soul, I politely returned the half of chicken finger to her. As a result of our further discussion, she took her poor attitude back to the kitchen and remade the sandwich. As a result of this lady's poor attitude regarding an issue her kitchen staff had created, we were all very uncomfortable. It would be prudent for her to consider other careers if a messed up sandwich has the potential to make her that angry.“
“Neat venue! Warm woods. Great sound. Beautiful hand made bar. Fabulous selection of bourbons! Very intimate setting. The next time we go, we'll opt for the \\\"balcony\\\" seating...just a couple of steps up from the \\\"floor\\\" seating...but in my mind?...looks like a GREAT place to sit! Definitely need to visit more than once. Note: this is an \\\"outside-2nd floor-staired entrance\\\". They have substantial hand rails on both sides of the stairs...and you can reach both sides easily. However, I don't believe the venue is handicap accessible.“
“The River House is a luxurious and beautiful venue with Lowcountry charm - wonderful ambiance! We enjoyed four fabulous courses, beginning with the Hamachi, and the Yellowfin Tuna Duo, on to the Lobster Bisque and Wedge Salad, and on to the Rainbow Trout and the A5 Wagyu. We finished up with the C4 (essentially, Death by Chocolate). It was all excellent. I particularly enjoyed the Wagyu, which, while only 2 ounces, was a taste sensation with its Yakiniku sauce. We completed the evening with a nightcap in the Hush Speakeasy in the basement. We had a wonderful evening and will soon return!“
