“This place gives off such an elegant and jazzy type vibe. The food was delicious. It only took about 15 minutes to come after ordering. We ordered the Rib-eye and Teriyaki Salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the presentation was perfect. We also ordered a few extra sides just to try them. The mash potatoes were great. I don't like the peelings in my mash, but since the mash was good, I'll ignore the peelings ?. The macaroni and cheese has a slightly spicy/Cajun flavor. I think the general public will enjoy, but not my personal favorite. I appreciate the creaminess of the dish. Again, the presentation was nice. The dining area is beautiful and spacious. You can select to sit at a regular four top table that has this blue marble-like finish (which I loved)... or you can choose the round tables with these gorgeous oversized seating chairs. ? Felt like I was in one of those romantic movies?I will definitely be visiting this pleasant oasis soon. I plan to try every dish on the menu. One suggestion is to update the sign outside of the restaurant. It doesn't match the theme or vibe of the place. Plus, the text size is too small, and you can barely read the name from the road.“
“Parking is horrible!!!. Fries had no seasoning and the cheese on them was cold and just fell to the bottom of the bowl. Won't order those again. The pizza was very good but don't take it home to eat the rest later.... it turns into a hard inedible waste of money. Burger temp was wrong. Mango Dressing was phenomenal.“
“My friend was coming in from out of town and I was looking for a place to take him for dinner after I picked him up from the airport. My sister and I were going to go here but one of us was always busy when this place was open. Anyways, I took him here and everything was amazing. We both had the salmon and I brought home the meatloaf for my husband and it was fantastic!!! Definitely highly recommend! a little pricy but worth it!“
“Arrived right at our reservation time and was seated immediately. It was early and not busy but by the time we left they were completely full. The waiter showed up moments after we were seated with water and explained the menu and specials. We ordered the cheese plate and thought the serving size was appropriate and well worth the price. Not to mention the bread was incredible. Our meals were both great. The pork chop was juicy and tasty. My wife felt it was the best she's ever had. She ordered the steak (NY Strip) and while it was cooked perfectly, it wasn't overly special and could have used seasoning. However her sides were excellent. The service was great and it was worth the cost. It's slightly above normal pricing for a couple bur reasonable and worth the cost.“
“If you are a BBQ lover this place this place will not disappoint. The location is cool they have indoor dining and outdoor as well. The staff are friendly and check on you often. But the winner is the food. We ordered the Pig Out which you can choose 4 proteins and 2 sides. We ordered 2 1/2 rack of ribs, pulled pork and brisket. The ribs were fall off the bone. The pulled pork was really good. The brisket had a mixture or lean and fatty which was great! Also included hash puppies and some pickles. For our 2 side was the Mac and Chesse which definitely was my favorite and some Cole Slaw which was good. Definitely has to be one of my new favorite BBQ spots now.“
“I had breakfast at broken egg cafe on 4/2 yeand 4/3. The menu is full of brunch type itemsI ordered 1/2’order of beignets with a soft scrambled egg baked thick bacon hot tea and delicious fresh strawberries. All of these items were great. The large menu includes waffles every imaginable omelets and specialty drinks. Family oriented. I see but one flaw that isThe coffee or tea should be served in a small coffee or hot water pitcher. Prices are affordable For a family of 3 about $15.Vegetarian options: Various salads. Fresh fruitDietary restrictions: Dietary restriction will be followedKid-friendliness: Kid portions open wash rooms dressing table decor for kidsWheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking wheelchair accessable tables accountable“
“Cute little tiny beer bar with incredible burgers. Both me and my 60+ year old mother loved the dive bar atmosphere and food. We will be back!Kid-friendliness: Small and cramped, so if your kid can’t sit still, this isn’t the place for you.“
“Great surprise. Was looking primarily for food, and found a gem of a bistro bar. Eclectic setting with funky vibe attracting all ages and cultures... quite fun for a date or friend outing. Ordered appetizers mainly... the Brussel Sprouts were so good we ordered another. I was disappointed by the mussels, but could have been a fluke. It's the only reason I didn't give it a 5. My biggest surprise was the Philly sandwich. Growing up in Philly, I can't help to sample out of state versions always disappointed. Goat's with it's namesake cheese was special... it didn't attempt to imitate and created something all their own. If you love steak and melted cheese, go for it. Last but not least was the great service and the amazing menu of cocktails. Will definitely come back. PS: don't come here if you want a big table and a lot of room to spread out... this is quaint, cozy and intimate. Loved it.“
“One of my fav places around Cola. and I've spent most of my time here for a quarter century. Owned by the Scottish guy, Stevo, who is usually there, whenever you show up. This is a small neighborhood bar and they're not open very late (10pm except 11+ Fri.-Sat.). I've spent time in bars/pubs around the world & this is classic. Amazing staff. Not many of them and I've known them all for years. They speak when you walk in, have it ready before you get to the bar. But hey--Stevo only hires class act experienced chefs. This is Not bar food, folks. The menu has limited options but it's all killer. If you haven't been in before, try the hamburger steak OMfnG, or fish N chips (fam recipe from fkn Scotland), or weird tacos, burgers, etc. Bring a date here!! I did. Karaoke twice a month Sun. nights, a lot of fun.“
“Russia never disappoints kinda like Chick-fil-A pretty consistent. Have great memories of my parents picking up food and coming out to the pond meeting me and the children and having picnics on Sunday catching fish and catching sun the chili cheeseburger basket is a must have you gotta get the banana split “
“I take my kids here when it rains outside. We get ice cream and French fries and drive around.Five stars for what it is. A traditional leaning, not quite fast food, ice cream / concession stand style food that does what it does fairly well.Ice cream + French fry combo is elite.“
“Went both day and sun. Food excellent and staff working hard and very attentive. Sat was no wait at 10am, Sunday 30 min wait but it was campus visitation and post church crowd so given that they did great. I had the farmhouse omelet and the shrimp and grits omelet. Both excellent. The home fry potatoes are very good, well seasoned.“
“Very good location. Lots of easy parking. Inside is very clean well serviced. Staff is very friendly disnt wait long for a table. Got the house blend coffee and it is smooth and surprisingly delicious. Coffee Beans did not taste burnt. They use high end syrups for the mixes on the mixed coffees. I ordered the homestead platter. Eggs bacon sausage biscuits and sausage gravy.Eggs were perfect bacon was crispy and delicious. Biscuits were light and fluffy. Sausages were good to my liking just tasted like hot sausages so be prepared. An overall experience it was very good. Compliments to the chefs and staff.“
“Hands down the best food I have had in a while! We went here with a group of family. Everyone in the party enjoyed their selection!we all recommend the food here! I had the sliders and truffle fries! I would definitely recommend them to anyone! Come with an appetite because the portions are large!most selections can be shared!“
“Can’t go wrong here! All of the sandwiches and salads are excellent. You can grab some flowers or get a haircut after you eat.The chicken salad, Philly, and burgers are usually what I get. They’re pretty quick most of the time too, even when the place is busy during lunch.“
“Our waitress was one of the best I have had in many years. She was very happy, smiling, and keeping our coffee full. She even brewed a fresh pot of coffee when I asked, how old was what we got the first time? I wish we lived closer to the store, I would be there every day that she was there I wished I had her name she was amazing. I know she had her children with her that day she's a very tall lady. You need to make sure you keep this waitress. She needs to be one of your best trainers if you could just get them all to be as wonderful as she was you would have a great store. Not that I'm saying anybody else was bad. The store was very busy and they were all taking care of their customers very well. Thank you for keeping the meaning of WAFFLE HOUSE alive and working. One thing I want to complain about is that it's always too cold in the stores.Parking: Parking lots are small and of course the WAFFLE HOUSE is usually busy. The parking lots needs to be a little bit larger“
“I consider this place to be a hidden gem in Columbia. I have been eating here since I was a little girl. I recommend the hot dog basket all the way or the gizzard basket. I hate they stopped selling fried pork chop because they were amazing. Staff is also very friendly. Everything is cooked fresh so it will be a little wait but it's well worth it.“
“I haven't been here since relocating. I had a chance to stop in today. The food was delicious but the portion of my husband's salad was sad. He was so upset to pay $23 dollars for a salad with 3 scallops. Hopefully the next visit will be better for him. My pizza was delicious.“
“My Good friend had just gotten off work and we were both hungry. Without debate we agreed eating here would be our Best Bet for Great Food without fail. It was approx 5:30pm and quite busy, however we were seated in not time. Waiter on point with flawless execution of service. Every single food item was absolutely fresh n deliciously prepared. ?“
“The food here is great early in the morning after a night out. I like it for lunch and dinner too but I'm mostly on the breakfast crew. My Daughter and I walk over to Thicket once a week before school. We've been going here for 12 years. The thing that stands out even more than the food is this place has the best service in the city. I frequently give 100% tips here because the wait staff is so excellent. The ambiance is dated but perfect for a Southern Diner. Keep in mind on Saturday and Sunday morning this place is a madhouse. Any other time of day you'll find ample seating and the friendliest staff in Columbia.“
“I have been wanting to come here for a while since we visit Columbia with relative frequency, and I know it is a local chain. This place has a lot of southern-style dishes, and they even say so in their menu in the way that they cook with pork in their vegetables so some of their sides are not vegetarian. I appreciate any place that calls mac and cheese a vegetable as opposed to a side! I got the one meat and two vegetables plate, which was $10. The meal comes with cornbread or rolls, but I was with two others so we got a mix of both. I'm not a huge cornbread fan, so I didn't try any, but the rolls were good with butter. For my meal, I chose the chicken fried steak as my meat and the mashed potatoes with brown gravy and macaroni and cheese as my vegetables. Our server was Eliana, who was very attentive and nice! The food came out within 10 minutes. The portions were great for $10, and the food was savory and tasted great. I really liked the chicken fried steak, and the white gravy on top was nice. The mashed potatoes with the brown gravy were flavorful and savory. The macaroni and cheese had a good consistency. All in all, I really enjoyed this dinner. The price was really good for a dinner- and the taste and service were great too!“
“CJs is a 5 pts staple bar. It's a mix of all types of people so it's not the usual college bar even though it's in that area. The food is served until 10 pm and the sandwiches are all delicious. There's pool tables and a great patio area with a view of the fountain. Hands down the best location to sit and enjoy the heart of 5 pts.“
“Best bar in Columbia SC, as a matter of fact in the whole world. I have been to many bars in my lifetime but no other bar has ever given me the satisfaction of happiness that the nut gives me! I come here all the time with my friends and we have all unanimously agreed that there is no place like the salty nut. I love this place and I will be coming here until the day I die. Service is incredible, bartenders really care about their customers and get the job done even when it is really busy (which is all the time). And the food is the best bar food I have ever had. You haven't really lived until you have experienced the experience that is, The Salty Nut.“
“We sat down immediately at noon with a party of nine and found this place fantastic. Sunday drink specials (bloody Marys and mimosas) were excellent. Our lunches were delivered from the team and we're served hot and were delicious. I had the breakfast burrito and about four others had the Chicken and Puffles were to die for. My daughter had the Hot Mess....and she could stop raving about....highly recommend!“
“Lovely place, Wednesdays at Jakes is a must! Fair price great atmosphere and nice people. I just don’t understand why they don’t let more people outside even though there is plenty of space (and they should definitely work on the toilet situation)“
“First time coming here and I’m beyond impressed. The food is out standing (pub sub and Crinkle fries). Halfway through watching the arsenal fc match on one of there 6 tvs I had to go to the bathroom and was absolutely blown away by how clean and nice it was. It felt as if I was in my own bathroom at my house because it was nearly spotless and made the atmosphere feel absolutely perfect from front to back. Can’t recommend coming here enough and the manager Matt was very friendly and welcoming.“
“now I'll say this if I'm going to say anything at all about this establishment and that's that this place is a place worth saying something about if one were to say something it could easily be said that saying something is the thing to do that way something was said which is what this is all about of course, wouldn't you say?“
“For what looks like just a college dive bar in 5 points, this place has awesome food! I've tried a lot of the items on the menu, but the standouts by far are the patty melt, the chicken bacon ranch wrap, and the onion rings. The outdoor seating is nice and spacious as well, people really should check this place out!“
“Such a cool little local dive bar. The owner Angela immediately introduced herself to me when I walked in and made me feel completely at home. Had the wings, asked for crispy, perfect!! Good drinks, I have two weeks military duty, I will spend a lot of time in this cool place before I leave.“
