“We had dinner at Perrone's Restaurant last night and every aspect of our meal was great. From friendly bartenders to attentive servers, we enjoyed our dinner thoroughly. We tried an octopus and a mussel appetizer, and both were flavorful and delicious. The mussel sauce in particular was so good, I could have sopped it up with an entire loaf of bread. Entrees were generous portions, and the chocolate cake for dessert was really good. If you are within an hour of this restaurant and have not tried it, you're missing one of the two or three best on the entire Grand Strand.“

“What a great restaurant. We go there at least once a week. We really enjoy the mussels and the wings. They have several dishes that are really good. Live music on the weekends. Great outdoors area so you can enjoy the outdoors. Service is always incredible!! You most check this restaurant out.“

“This review is from the perspective of a low handicapper. Hopefully this will be of help as Pawleys Plantation is as breathtaking as it is is difficult. Pros Course is well conditioned though in my round, the Bermuda grass was in transition to rye. Fringes were a little furry and greens were not as fast as they could be. They were resort average. They were all small like a typical Nicklaus course. Sand was smooth and consistent and layout was overall impressive. Especially on the back 9. Fairways were soft but we could ride our carts on them. Greens held nicely. Good practice area and generally friendly clubhouse staff. Cons The 9th hole is ridiculous. Why Jack Nicklaus would stick a big fat tree in the middle of the fairway is beyond me. The hole is tough enough with OB, narrow fairways and an undulating green with a false front. Pro shop staff was kind of indifferent. Pace of play was slow too. I got paired with a single and we later joined with another twosome that as it turns out was slow. It took us 4:40 to finish. Also while they didn’t bother me, the average golfer might find some holes nearly impossible. No 17 for instance requires a mid iron over marsh to a shallow bulk headed green. Range balls were included in the green fee but you only got like 15 balls.“

“Our favorite dining experience this trip! The atmosphere is stunning- warm and inviting, beautiful,with lush plants and lighting everywhere. The food was amazing I had the steak and my daughter had the Halibut. What truly set the experience apart was Myke our server, the most helpful and genuine personable person, very attentive and offered great recommendations. He made us feel right at home. “Bistro 217 sat my little family last minute with no reservation on a busy Monday night instead of turning us down. And when I asked for an extra fruit cup for my 2yo, they not only grabbed one for me they cut the grapes too! Huge win for momma trying to eat with a child on her lap. “I want to compliment you on the Low Country Boil and Perlo that you prepared for my golf group of 30 men. I wanted to introduce the 15 guys from the North (Michigan) to the fabulous food of the South, and you had them crying for more. The boil was delicious and plentiful. The shrimp were large, and they couldn't finish them all. My wife makes your location our first stop when we come to Pawleys every year. Well done, and your staff is so pleasant.“

Not busy at all told to sit where we would like got to table and it was sticky all over the top of it mentioned to waitress she just looked at us we should have walked out but we were wanting to have the oysters so we endured the push off from the waitress we were very disappointed with the food and the very small amount of oysters that were brought to us food and dessert bar was very disgusting order a extra order of hushpuppies very cold and disgusting frozen hushpuppies very unclean unsantiary conditions all over the whole resturant“

“If you’re riding down Highway 17 through Pawleys Island and haven’t stopped at Pawleys Island Bakery yet, go ahead and fix that.

I’ve been meaning to swing by for a while and finally made it happen this morning. I called my order in ahead of time so it would be ready for pickup, and everything was smooth from the start. They’ve got plenty of parking — a nice, big, clean lot that makes it easy to get in and out without fighting traffic.

When you walk inside, it’s a cute, welcoming space with a counter full of beautiful desserts and baked goods. Even though I had already ordered, it was hard not to stand there and admire everything in the case.

I went with a bacon, egg, and cheese on a hard roll — and it was better than I expected. Large, fresh, and clearly made with top-notch ingredients. One of those breakfast sandwiches that feels like it was done right, not rushed. You can taste the quality.

The staff member on duty was polite and genuinely hospitality-minded. It didn’t feel like a quick transaction. After handing over my order, there was a mention that cakes were being baked in the back and that normally there would be more cakes in the case — just letting me know more items were coming out. That kind of small detail says a lot about customer service. It felt thoughtful and welcoming.

They had three coffee options today: cinnamon bun, pecan, and Kona. I went with the plain Kona, and it was a great cup of coffee — smooth and flavorful. My only “complaint”? I wish the cup was just a little bigger.

All in all, Pawleys Island Bakery delivered a solid breakfast experience — good food, good coffee, and good hospitality. I’ll definitely be back to try some of those cakes next time.“
