“You won't find a nicer or friendlier staff. Fried chicken was crispy, juicy and delicious. Buffet style with great southern sides, mac & cheese, rice, mashed potatoes, gravy, limas, greens and more. Great sweet tea! Chicken was the only meat, wish they had another offering and deserts were ok, but we were too full for desert anyway.“
“What a great little hole in the wall off the beaten track Gem! I walked into this restaurant and was greeted immediately with amazing fragrances! Wow! Talk about getting very hungry very fast! The staff were super friendly and helpful as I asked them about their menu. They were such a pleasure to visit with. I have dined at several restaurants in both Jamaica and other islands in the Caribbean and found this little restaurant served better Soul food than I have ever had. The Oxtail was amazing and fragrant. Yum! Pork Ribs were very good, but not typical. Tasty, with Sweet Baby Ray Sauce, and just about falling off the bone, tender-perfect doneness. Let me just simplify this review by saying that everything my friend and I had, was very good and thoroughly enjoyed. Here is a list of those items: Mac-N-Cheese, Cornbread, Goat Curry, Sweet Potato Bread, Chicken Pilau Rice, Collard Greens, & Candied Sweet Potatoes. The restaurant wasn't fancy, but it was clean and has a great friendly atmosphere.“
“Best food we have had in Georgia and South Carolina. The crab balls were almost creamy—-so delicious! The Parmesan horseradish salmon was the BOMB. The veggies were perfect—flavorful but not too salty. The service was warm and efficient. This is the place dreams are made of!“
“Our party of 4 walked in without reservations on 12/16 and found the atmosphere to be quite cozy and pleasant. We sat at a huge very comfortable booth. Our waitress was an A+. I first received a salad with a Gorgonzola dressing. I had never had that but it was similar to a blue cheese dressing. That was quite tasty. I ordered the fall scallop risotto and I loved it. I thought the shrimp almost tasted like popcorn, the scallops were perfectly soft, and the risotto retained a fabulous flavor. My wife ordered the butternut squash soup and although it didn’t taste quite like what she expected, she still thought it was great. She also got the scallops and loved them.My in-laws ordered the burgers and one loved it while the other had ordered it medium and it came out pretty red. It was rectified quickly.A couple of drinks were also ordered and really enjoyed.Overall I think this is our favorite restaurant in Georgetown!“
“We love to stop at local places to try the food wherever we travel.Sometimes we're disappointed...but this was not one of those times!Mercy was our server, and she was not only helpful, she was very personable. The food was ah-mazing, and it's obvious a lot of love goes into it.I had the shrimp & grits w/gravy, w/butter beans/okra, and Cole slaw.My daughter had the Mac n cheese & sweet corn.Husband had the ribs & yellow rice.We all had a corn muffin, with peach cobbler for dessert.None of us wanted to share our food but we did. Lol.We will most definitely be stopping here again on our next time through.Kid-friendliness: Mercy (our server) gave our daughter just as mu h dignity and attention as she gave us.It was a nice change, as a lot of servers ignore her. Also, the tables are covered with paper, which would be fun to draw on.“
“I had lunch with four friends at the Ball & Cue. They offered 3 lunch specials which included 3 sides and either cornbread or a roll. I had the fried chicken, which was delicious. We left a 20% tip and still spent less than $65 total for the five of us. I highly recommend and will be going back there often.“
“Local dive bar located on Georgetown’s scenic Harborwalk serving lunch, dinner and drinks. Simple bar interior with booths, bar and pool tables with nautical and beer sign motif. Outdoor back deck offers a panoramic view of the Georgetown Harbor. Surprisingly after finding our original dining destination closed, the adjacent restaurant had a hour and half wait was that this place was empty. Two locals claimed a couple barstools around the bar and the rest of the dining area was ours. Basic bar menu was appetizers, salads, baskets, burgers and sandwiches/wraps. First, we shared the Gator Bites with fried breaded Gator meat served with a spicy mango sauce. Interesting taste and texture that went nice with the side sauce that had a bit of heat. Our Shrimp Po Boy came with a choice of fried, grilled or blackened shrimp served with lettuce and tarter on a multigrain kaiser bun. Simple tater sauce flavor and chunky shrimp texture. A side of crispy fries a plus.“
“This is the quintessential breakfast spot in small town America with the group of men chopping it up and having a great time in the corner! The decor is quant, warm and welcoming and you are welcomed with smiles not only by the staff but by your fellow patrons. The food is fast and filling not packed with the flavor of a fancy restaurant but made with the love of your grandma! This is a must if are looking for a great breakfast experience while visiting Georgetown!“
“This was the only restaurant open on the Georgetown waterfront, and we were very pleased.Everything was excellent, both the food and the service. It has a very large indoor dining room (a little dark for my taste) and some arcade machines for children. High and low tables and a good bar. Very nice views.Wheelchair ramp.“
“If you want to experience a simple but homely feeling while eating breakfast outside of your house, this is the place. We live out of state, and we decided to have our breakfast here, and we did like it. It's is a simple place but I like their food and service.“
“Absolutely a unique restaurant!! Food is unique and tastes amazing. Not your typical burger and chicken tender menu. We had bourbon pecan chicken and the quail. Absolutely one of the best meals we’ve ever had. The atmosphere is amazing on the water. You have the entire view of the river. The vibe and decor is very relaxing and unique!! Just overall an amazing place and experience. Will definitely be our go to place!“
“My daughter and I enjoyed a fabulous dinner tonight at SoCo! Waitresses were so attentive and the food was fresh and delicious. My 12 yo had the fried chicken sandwich, while I had the grilled shrimp tacos. Thanks for a quick and tasty dinner!“
“The atmosphere alone makes this place. But then add on awesome food and drinks, and you've got yourself a new spot! ? Go eat drink and be merry in a sunken ship theme. Shoot some pool in the back room or eat under a giant kraken lastly, have a creative ?“
“Stopped in here on Sunday at 2. 4 other people were in the restaurant when we entered. We had the option of bar seating or a table.Out server met us within 3 minutes. We ordered milkshakes and burgers. They arrived with in 10 minutes. The burgers were a titch overcooked, fries were cooked perfectly but no salt. The staff seemed to have some issues that affected the service provided and a new couple that came in and sat down weren't greeted for 10 minutes. My boyfriend went to the register to pay our bill and had to wait 10 minutes on the only waitress to cash him out. During that time, she was constantly complaining about having to come in early.I hope they get their issues worked out, it could be a great place.Parking: This is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking for buses or RVsKid-friendliness: They have frozen custard and great milkshakes!“
“Went to Janette's for the first time. The people are extremely friendly and nice. The food and service was amazing!! If you go here, you have to try the fried pickles! The best! I would highly recommend this place. We'll be going often!“
