“If you love the Apple Barn (and believe me, I do!!) but long for more quiet, more country, and the opportunity to buy all sorts of farm fresh goods, come here!!!! Family at the heart of Carver’s Orchard and Apple House. The orchard shop has a large selection of apples, jams, jellies, butters, honey, cider, homemade apple pies and hand pies along with other seasonal garden vegetables and fruits. If you aren’t sure about an apple, they have several wonderful people who can help you. I taste tested an apple I’d never had before and it was delicious! You can watch them sort the apples if it’s a harvest day. There was a line for the restaurant to open and when you try the food, you’ll know why. The fried chicken and SWEET tea are delicious, as are the fritters, apple butter, and spiced apples. The owner makes her own fried chicken batter…yum! They make their own mashed potatoes and coleslaw too. Afterwards, don’t forget to go over to their sweet shop! The chocolates and caramel apples are made locally from a man who hand chooses the apples from their orchard. You definitely get your money’s worth here! Everyone there was so friendly and that includes the other customers. We had a wonderful time and chatted with strangers who felt like friends. When’s the last time that happened to you?“

“We visited Cosby and were there for a week. We dined at Janice’s Diner 4 times…..yes, it is THAT good! Prices are beyond reasonable, staff was super friendly and the food was down home delicious! Do not pass up on this hidden gem!“

Both were delicious with great service each time. Reasonably priced with the buffet &/or menu choices. We’ve added it to our must-stops on upcoming TN visits. Thanks y’all!“

“Our food was great as always but this last trip we had poor service. She was prompt on greeting us and taking our order but never followed through. I finally got up & found another server to fill my husband's drink. We asked to split tip but since we paid by cc they said we couldn't. I said I would be back but I don't think they believed me. I did come back in 5 mins. & took to the other server & she looked like she would cry. This was in Newport, TN & we will be back.“

“The folks who run this wonderful little cafe went out of their way to set up a big table for my family in advance. We gathered together from four different states and thoroughly enjoyed the good food and fine, friendly service. Add to that the love our family shared, and it was perfect! Needless to say, I'd highly recommend Grill 73 to anyone traveling through the area. (FYI: It is a bit off the beaten-path, but not too far. Plus, it's a beautiful drive.)“
