“A truly Memphis experience. Great hibachi, sushi, and cocktails. Make reservations, and hope that your chef is “magic” Mike who, along with the place itself, has been around for decades. Some staff can be unfriendly, but if you persevere and keep an open mind, you’re in for a good time.“

“Don't like the fact that the dude did 15% gratuity. I said, "What's this about?" He said people don't tip. I'm like, dude, I'm a regular here. I always tip. Then brought my food out with 2 shrimp. Going I'm allergic to shellfish.Won't happen again,I promise youDietary restrictions: No shellfish“

“Sekisui Pacific Rim is an east Memphis sushi scene, from the food to the ambiance to the service!FOODI can't help but rave about their Redbirds Roll - it's my absolute favorite for 18 years now. It's a meal all in itself. Imagine a California roll with crispy crab inside and cooked shrimp on the top. I also like that is pays homage to our baseball team, the Memphis Redbirds. And the Cucumber Rolls? The freshness and flavor burst in your mouth, truly a refreshing treat, and you feel very light after eating it. Oh, and don't forget have some green tea; it's the ideal way to round off a fantastic dining experience and help you digest the meal. It's not just the food that makes this place special; Sekisui Pacific Rim goes the extra mile by using eco-friendly paper straws, demonstrating their commitment to the environment and, of course, saving those adorable turtles.AMBIANCEThe ambiance at Sekisui Pacific Rim is hip and chic. In the back of the restaurant, they have an aquarium that serves as mood lighting along with a massive art centerpiece that adds to the overall charm. The art features throughout the restaurant really set the mood for a unique dining experience. When it comes to the seating arrangement, their artsy tables and layout also contribute to the cool and contemporary atmosphere. And if you're looking for a more intimate experience, I highly recommend the cozy sushi bar off to the side - it's the perfect spot to watch the talented chefs work their magic.SERVICEThe staff makes everyone feel like they're at home. I love them and they love people and understand true customer service! If you like sushi, it's a great date place, a place for a small friend group or even a work meeting.“

“Best sushi restaurant I’ve ever visited!! We’ve never received an order of sushi so fast, and we got 4 specialty rolls. Definitely try a fried roll with the hot honey sauce. They also give you complementary spring rolls which is nice. Service was fantastic, food was delicious, we want to come back to Memphis just so we can eat here again.“

“This last time that we went, the food was just as good as we remembered! My daughter wanted the Shumai (steamed shrimp dumplings) because "they were so good last time, and I just know they will hit the spot and make me feel better." We had dropped my husband, active duty military, off at the airport shortly before. So, we went and ate here. We also got the Fancy Nancy Roll, with the sweetened chili sauce. It was a little different, but it was still good to me, and she loved it. We also got the Black Pepper Tuna Roll, and that one is one of my favorites. She polished off all the dumplings, but we did have sushi to take home! The only downside to the restaurant is, imo, the tea which has a bit of a fruit flavor to it (it's not bad just hits a little differently. My daughter loved it) and the bathroom. The restrooms were clean, but the lay out is extremely poor. You can't open the big stall without hitting the door to the smaller stall, and then when you're in there, you can see all the way out of the bathroom through the gap in the door!Parking: We went in between hours but there's parking all around the building. We didn't have any issues with finding a spot.Kid-friendliness: My 5yo has been fascinated with all of the fish on the ceiling and loves the colored lights that are on the floor when you walk in. The staff has been nice to her both times that we've gone.“
“I haver never gotten anything that wasn't delicious! Chef Sinh produces not only tasty food but it is very generously portioned as well. The service is always friendly and relatively quick for such detailed dishes. But, if you are ordering more than a couple of things, be reasonable and just call your dang order in!“

“Awesome sushi for a great price! Girlfriend and I got the 3 rolls + miso soup for $13. The soup was delicious and they gave large portions! The sushi was also really tasty! The combos were more than enough food for dinner plus leftovers. we decided to splurge and try a few things, so we also got the yaki chicken and pan fried gyoza. The gyoza were really good, and the yaki chicken was also tasty. It didn't have a lot of sauce, but adding a bit of soy sauce did the trick. They included a large portion of that as well, and had a lot of big chunks of chicken and veggies. The lady at the register was also super friendly. We'll definitely be coming back!“

“The sushi was excellent. Some of the best I've had, plus I am a fan of the spicy mayo. The service was ok and seems slow. It was kinda hot, not sure if it was on purpose or what. 84 degrees is hot. It is definitely on the pricey side. Spicy tuna roll is $12 and this is a basic roll. I would most likely get sushi to go or delivered. I recommend the sushi.“

“The plain facade on the front of the building holds a delicious surprise when you walk into the door. As you walk closer to the cash register the Amazing aromas come from the very talented cooks. Freshly cooked ingredients are made to order with care and time. The food had a delicate balance of flavors which can be tasted by taste buds. The prices are reasonable. Sorry people, I didn't take pictures.“

“So honestly we enjoy Sekisui Midtown. Only our second time going. First time had 4 amazing roles between the two of us. Tonight we went and wanted to try something different than our first time. And while we did not care for one of the roles, which happens, I was disappointed in a specific order for the Alaskan role. The menu calls for blue crab, and what we got was a karb stick. Now I don’t mind paying for a karb stick but I don’t like being given karb when blue crab is on the menu. I asked the waitress when she came over what was in the role and she correctly pointed out that it was a karb stick. I informed her that was not what then menu calls for. She offered to discount that role. When the check arrived she took 20% off that individual role. So we paid $9 for a karb stick. This is a swindle. If I hadn’t asked they would have passed off blue crab at karb prices. They should have simple come and said we are out of blue crab but can substitute it for XXX would you still like that. We will give them another try, but I will be more careful when the food is delivered to make sure we are getting what we ordered. Suggest you do the same.“

“I love this place! The sushi artist really take their presentation seriously as well as taste! The food is always flavorful and filling. I try my best not to over order because it’s all so good. I do recommend trying something different each time. The menu is huge with a plethora of options to choose from. You get a good amount of food for your money, it it quickly adds up. Staff is typically nice and the food gets finish pretty quick. It is on the corner with low lighting so pay attention while driving.Parking: Parking is angled all around the building.Wheelchair accessibility: Their is one step to go over but inside space is good.“

“I barely eat Asian food, so this review is based solely on my 14-yr-old son's opinion. And he LOVES Tokyo Grill Japanese restaurant. This kid has had me ordering sushi left and right since learning about this place from my vegetarian little brother ☺️I've visited this location on Summer Ave and the one on Austin Peay. I've read some of the reviews and I have yet to experience bad customer service or bad-tasting food (which my son would have to confirm). I really hope that doesn't happen, 'cos my son loves their food. I'm the one who pays for it, though. And I'll tell you another thing, I almost couldn't find the place because Google Maps GPS signal was so bad! And because of where it's located...to the back and in between the other businesses off of Summer??♀️ Plus, it also smelled like urine where I had to park?“

“I love Ryu! I've been eating here for close to 20 years through shifts in management and sushi chefs. T my favorite menu items are the Pho Shrimp (I like to add dumplings on the side) and the Fire Roll (idk if this is technically on the current menu, as it's an old item, but they'll still make it).“
