Starbucks in Memphis

“So, I purchased a drink at another Starbucks on my way to Nashville, maybe it was the first drink of the morning but it was right.. the folks at this Starbucks after hearing my story re made the drink for me at no charge.. I offered to buy another one.. guys keep up the good work :-)“

“I stupidly ordered to the wrong location and the sweet girl at the drive through window (assuming it was the manager) offered to make our order anyway, even though they were already so busy. We’d had a rough morning and were on the way home from a dr’s appointment for our baby and it really made my day. It’s rare to find customer service/kind gestures like that these days. Thank you so much to whoever that was!! The food and drinks at this location are also always super consistent.“

“Asked me twice to pull around, I heard you the first time. You were nice otherwise but you promised me napkins and didn't bring them. Gave the biggest tip though cause I felt bad that you had to get rained on. But four food items needs napkins. Really even just one does.Y'all are my favorite one. Please do better.“

The store was spotless and had a nice, relaxed vibe — plenty of comfortable seating to get some work done or just unwind. The location is convenient with easy parking, and the service was quick even during the morning rush. Definitely one of the better Starbucks spots in Memphis!“

“The front desk and staff were very friendly and helpful to us. The room was spacious and had more space than the Gaylord Hotel that we stayed in in Nashville. A short walk to Beale Street and back. Try the original BB King's BBQ. It was a hit in both food and music.“

“I am not a big fan of the Starbucks coffees or anything that has their coffee in it however they have good tea. This particular location is inside St.Jude across from Kay Kafe and is one of two fully appointed and stocked well run Starbucks outlets.“

“I love the coffee specialties that Starbucks has, and that you can choose them hot or cold, large or small. They have other frozen drinks, that are very tasty and refreshing.You can also add a little of whipped cream on your coffee, yummy.Or take a bite, choosing one of their special sandwiches, or something sweet, like their deserts.I like that they adapt their coffees to each season, and I can't wait for Fall, to taste my favorite pumpkin spice latte.“

“The Starbucks on Germantown Pkwy usually makes my coffe to specification. I always order the white chocolate mocha with extra espresso because I like the taste of the strong coffee flavor. Sometimes it's a miss, but usually they get it right.“

“Twice I came into Starbucks inside Kroger, I found the staff very helpful, with a great attitude, and the service excellent. I didn't order coffee but one of the delightful breakfast sandwiches. They are delicious. ? My most recent visit to this establishment was yesterday.“

“This is by far the worst Starbucks I've ever visited. The customer service has at this location is horrible, management is no help. They take your order at the drive thru and give you such a hard time, always getting an attitude. Please get a manager that's willing to train the staff on customer service etiquette.“

“This is one of my favorite Starbucks to go to in Memphis. Reece is a wonderful manager and even when they are super busy and overwhelmed from the high demand of Poplar, they are kind, professional, and as quick as possible under the pressure!“

“Hello! I've been meaning to leave this review for some time now, but life tends to get away from me. That said, I wanted to take a moment to truly thank this Starbucks location. There have been some recent changes, and I’ve definitely noticed — in the best way.

From the moment I walk in, I’m always greeted with a cheerful “Welcome in!” and bright, genuine smiles. Even on days when I’m feeling off, that small gesture makes me feel seen. And really, isn’t that why many of us venture out to places like this — for a bit of comfort and connection?

On one of my recent visits, they were out of my go-to drink: matcha. But a lovely young woman, whose name I believe was Jackie, helped me find a new favorite. Instead of leaving me to stare at the busy overhead menu, she kindly walked me through some great alternatives. She was patient, polite, and incredibly helpful — the kind of person who’s clearly meant to work with people. I could tell she genuinely cared.

Jackie took my order and made the drink herself, which I thought was impressive. It looked like there was another staff member working the drive-thru, so I do hope to see a bit more support for the afternoon shifts. Still, despite the busyness, the café was clean, organized, and well-managed.

One small suggestion — if possible, I’d love to see a swap for more comfortable seating. The hard chairs aren’t too friendly for those of us getting up there in age. Sitting is a joy, but not so much on stiff furniture!

All in all, thank you, Starbucks, for continuing to deliver great service and for hiring people like Jackie, who make the experience even more enjoyable. I’m sure the rest of the team is just as lovely. That’s all from me for now — see you soon!

“This starbucks is about to be my goooooo-to! Tam, one of the baristas I had the pleasure of meeting, showed such great customer service and was extremely helpful and patient with me. She made my time at starbucks very enjoyable. I will be back!“

Vegetarian options: The Impossible breakfast sandwich is our favorite

Wheelchair accessibility: Door access is not ADA. Someone would have to hold the door. Looks like Starbuck's in this area is making upgrades“

“Christmas Eve afternoon, my family and I stopped into Target to pick up a few last minute gifts. We needed a pick me up to head to our next stop. Starbucks is one of our favorite places to get coffee. There was a line but it was moving fast. To my delight Corey and Taneka was running a tight ship. Our orders were prepared promptly and correctly. They were made to our special requests and tasted perfect.Thank you for making our day Corey and Taneka!“

“If you visit Memphis university, don't forget to go to Starbucks. Here, you will find Sam, who is very kind. He smiles at everybody, and never forget to say " Good morning" and " have a good day". This, without mentioning the quality of the coffee, which is always the best in this country.“

“There is a young lady named Sequoyia who made our experience amazing!!! We were trying something new from online and had to go a few extra steps to get it right. She never complained, kept a smile on her face and had great customer service. Kudos to Starbucks and to Sequoyia!!!“

“It is nice to have a Starbucks in the grocery store. It makes the shopping experience better with a caffeinated beverage in hand. The service here is a mixed bag, but for the most part I get my beverages in a timely manner and can usually get the barista to smile. I don't imagine this job is easy.“

“This starbucks location is alright. However, if you are going to do a mobile order MAKE SURE TO DO IN STORE PICK UP. Otherwise, you’ll be waiting 30+ minutes in the drive thru. I did watch a barista make my drink incorrectly at one occasion. I ordered a brown sugar oatmilk shaken espresso. The barista made the whole thing in a cup (like a latte) and didn’t even put it in the shaker. And she let the espresso sit in the cup by itself for like a minute, which burned it. I used to work at a different starbucks location, so i know that you should not be doing that. It’s a little upsetting that you’re paying $6-7 for one drink and not getting your drink made correctly :/ Other than that once occasion, I haven’t had any other problems with my drink being made wrong.“

“This is my Go To Starbucks place the lines are short and they make my orders right every time and I personally want to thank Danny last Sunday for showing me kind and genuine true customer service I cannot find anywhere else. I'll continue to be back and request them“

“I don’t typically order inside or pick up inside. I always order ahead in the app and use the drive through to pick up. This last visit I came inside to order at the Riverdale location so I could use a payment method outside of the app. I realized me ordering outside of the app meant I needed to be able to explain all the customizations which I rely on the app for. Without hesitation the wonderful barista says don’t you get the iced brown sugar shaken espresso? I was completely blown away and impressed. More importantly, I felt like I was among friends. This visit made me decide to make an extra effort to make it my point to only visit this location. Which is great because it really is in my neighborhood. I’m so glad this location exists. “So I usually tip a little something to Starbucks workers, but I placed my order in advance and it still said it would take 20 minutes which is sometimes understandable. My problem is I got there and I sat and waited on the order and they made both of my items wrong and I had to wait longer for them to remake them. They gave me a sandwich instead of eggs. I had a drink the wrong flavor so I was upset. The ONLY 2 reasons I'm still giving them 5 stars is because they usually do my order right and because the cashier was SUPER accommodating and nice. She had them stop and fix my stuff.“

They have started their holiday flavors, so stop by & get your nice warm drink along with a bite to eat. If you don't like coffee it's okay they have a few other drinks with no coffee like flavored teas, hot chocolate & just ask.“

“The women making coffees this morning were so on point, I can't enough good things about their spirit and attitudes. Friendly, welcoming, and fast. I waited maybe 30 secs for my drink after I ordered. 11/10 would come again if I ever fly into Memphis again.“

“I’ve visited the Austin Peay Starbucks many times, and this is the best I’ve seen the store look in months. It really feels like there must be new management, because the improvements are obvious as soon as you walk in. The building is cleaner, the line moves faster, and the whole team looks well-put-together, professional, and genuinely happy to be there. The overall atmosphere has been consistently great during my recent visits.

The only concern I experienced was on Sunday, November 17th around 11am. A barista named Madison appeared visibly upset and frustrated on the floor, and she used some very harsh curse words that were surprising to hear in the café environment. I understand that work can be stressful, but the language didn’t feel appropriate for the setting or the brand.

Aside from that isolated incident, every other experience I’ve had at this location recently has been amazing. The improvements are noticeable and appreciated, and I hope the store continues on this positive path.“
