“Michael was PHENOMENLAL. His service was amazing. We spilled a beer and he quickly brought out a new one. He kept checking on us and was super helpful without being rude. Honestly one of the best restaurant experiences we have ever had. The entire staff we interacted with was very inviting, and super nice. We have been there before and will definitely return.“

“This organization is doing AMAZING things for the Boone community - from reducing food waste and providing anyone who needs it a meal (which, BTW, is delicious and creative - something you might expect to find at a fancy restaurant) to providing the perfect setting for genuine, neighbor-to-neighbor meaningful connections. I highly recommend making this your go-to lunch spot, volunteering your time (or a few dollars if you're able), and spreading the word about what this incredible, selfless team is doing. You are doing wonderful work in the community and I am so grateful there are folks like you in this world!!!“

“Loved the atmosphere here! Very family and pet friendly spot. Good drink selection and a lot of different food options. Our waiter was also super cool and helpful. I’m also not a huge fan of loud atmospheres where the music is too loud and you can’t even have a conversation but this was a perfect environment!“

“SHOUT OUT for your most recent 100 A rating! Proper, located at 142 Burrell Street in Boone, received an “A” grade and a final score of 100 on a recent inspection. Top notch and one of the BEST in BOONE! Everything I've ever had here has been incredible. Kudos Angela!“

“Phenomenal food. They have a good menu, but I've only ever tried their BBQ sandwich and I've been going there for well over a decade. Really the best BBQ within an hour.
It is counter service, seating is outside under a picnic structure or at your house, no dine-in.“

“My wife and I drive over to Capt. Jim’s from N.C. Once a month for the Seafood and to say hi to Donald Trump and ask if he has inflation under control yet. We were happy to see scallops on the menu as a special… $24.00 for scallops, a handful of fries and a side salad. It seemed like a fair price and with Trumps recommendation, I expected a “ Big Beautiful Plate “ of scallops! The breading on the scallops was perfect. The salad was delicious..croutons were to die for, and fries were crispy not oily. My only issue was there were only 5 scallops on my plate. My wife and I did the math and that comes to $4.80 per scallop! Lesson learned that may be cheap for Donald Trump but for a normal retiree on a fixed income that is still high. I debated about writing this review because I know if I ever order the scallop special again I will probably get 3 scallops vs 5 scallops but if you are wanting to grow your business listen to your customers because even the customers whose comments you view as “ Crabby “ want to see you succeed. One other point I want to make because I found this out the hard way..the restaurant web site says it is Closed on Sunday…on occasion if the cook/owner decides she will open Sunday from 12p-4 pm. So check Facebook not what is on the web page. I overheard our waitress/ owners daughter telling a customer that they would be open more on Sunday if they had more customers come in. Guessing she did not know the website said they were closed Sunday..well her mother the cook overheard our conversation and quickly set the record straight. Ok I am signing off before my next big beautiful bill is full of “ Up Charges .“

“I went and was craving a steak and the cook solis cooked me the best steak I have ate in years this guys deserves a raise for his great cooking I had to order not just one but two thank you for the great service. Also the server Andrew was awesome and very nice and courteous I will definitely be back to get more from here if there was a 20 star review you would definitely get it…..“

Had went to deliver supplies for Helene and we ended up spending basically the whole day with our new friend ❤️ She wouldn't have us not eating before we left so here we are in the middle of the hardest hit area enjoying fish fry Saturday ???? WE WILL BE BACK!!! Also got my cup too ❤️“
