“Love John’s!! We’ve been coming since I was a kid. True old fashion diner feel. To avoid the crowds, get there before 9am. The line is long at 9am but moves fast. Know what you want when you get up to John, he works fast. The breakfast special is a classic.“

“We haven't been here in quite a while. We only came once a few years back. It's not in our driving area so I had forgotten about it. I was looking for a place to eat that was on the route we were taking and it popped up in my history. So, we stopped by.All the wonderful feelings came back just like when we first came. Norma's Cafe is the full expression of a "Home Cooked Meal" in the very best way.We stopped by around 6pm. I got a breakfast plate (breakfast served all day) - Florentine Omelet (I was brave) with grits, biscuit and sausage gravy. My wife got a dinner plate - Fish nuggets, green beans and mashed potatoes (the Friday Special). They were both very satisfying!!We were also served homemade cornbread and rolls - Wow! .. so Delicious! We finished it off with Peach Cobbler topped with creamy vanilla ice cream. The breading had such a gourmet flavor. Our server, Kesha, brightened our day with her delightful personality and over-the-top knowledge about everything they served (who needs a menu). We will be trying to find more things to do this way so we can stop by more often.“

“Food was delicious, owner gave us menu recommendations and a lot of the salsas and sauces are from scratch, service was sweet and quick, prices were reasonable. Very "mom and pop" in the best way! Country diner feel in the middle of the city. I'll definitely be back!“

“This was DEFINITELY my go to for chicken fried steak, then, something happened. Don't know if the meat supplier changed or the cook is different but now it is tough gristly piece of meat. Gone back and tried THREE times. HUGE disappointment. Everything else I've had is still YUM!“

“There's nothing fancy about Dallas Diner. A small place with a few tables on the inside, patio tables outside, and several stools at the counter. The menu is classic diner fare with daily specials. In addition to the extensive regular menu there are menus for kids and seniors. My friend and I ordered off the senior menu. We both had eggs over easy and pancakes. She had bacon, I had the sausage patty. We both had coffee. Everything was prepared as ordered and tasty. And, to my surprise, filling. Service was cheerful, attentive, and helpful. Parking directly in front can be tight but there is adequate parking close by. A great place for breakfast. I'll try lunch another day.“

“We have been going to Luckys for 15+ years for breakfast. We used to go quite a bit when we lived at Southside but not so much since we moved to the country. I have gotten to go there several times in the last couple of weeks. It's been a real treat the quality of the food and the service is still beyond anything I can find in the central Dallas area. Ask for biscuits before you start. Eat them plain with butter or like I do butter and strawberry jam. Ask for a pancake on the side, you can split it if you want, it's pretty big. I stay away from the cinnamon butter they give you and just use butter and syrup. I hope you get a chance... it will reset your standard.“

“5/5. I tried the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs and it was solid. I liked the Shrimp and Grits better though. But the Parmesan Breakfast Potatoes and the French toast….will have me coming back EVERY SINGLE TIME. It is so good and The patio is amazing. I would say it’s only worth to come here for the patio. They have a beautiful garden outside that supplies their herbs and vegetables. And I believe our servers name was Holden and he was great! We added on French toast late and he made it happen to where we only waited a few minutes. For peace of mind, I would make a reservation if coming on the weekend.“

“I chickened out and ordered the CFS with mashed potatoes, baked squash, Mac and cheese. My wife ordered the meatloaf, Mac and cheese, greens and baked squash. CFS was ok, nothing outstanding. My wife's meatloaf was excellent. Squash so-so, other vegetables were very good. Chocolate Pie was just ok. Definitely good for the price.“

“Hole in the wall near the JFK memorial across from El Centro. If you blink you will miss it. They have the same menu they've had for decades. Reasonable prices CASH ONLY. It's narrow with maybe 3 tables and lunch bar with about 6 or so seats. 1 cook and 1 cashier. Good food and good people. Been going here for 20 years. For a quick 5.00 breakfast sandwich or hotcakes or burger or patty melt....this is my spot. The food and the people are consistent. You know what you're getting each time you pop in.“

“Met the wonderful owner today along with wonderful food being served here and very satisfied and it is about mom and pop as you can get. It is a cash only restaurant. Hopefully one day they will have an ATM here. But the food is authentic.. corn and flour tortillas are homemade.. that's what I'm talking about!!!“

“Can't beat the migas with chorizo and the hash browns. Wife loves the chicken fried chicken and the veggies. Yes, getting seated is confusing and they always seem to be a little disorganized. If that bothers you, then try to go at off times.“

“Was greeted at the door by Host Betsy and another waiter. They were very friendly and welcoming. Talked about our spring break. Cleaned our table again and dried it in front of us. Our waitress Adlee was amazing. The food was hot and fresh and brought back in timely manner. Great location right off Central Expressway.Parking: Plenty of parking spots.“

“Very tasty food, you get the daily recommendations in the evening. Really good. Chubby's is very clean and looks newly renovated, but a bit sterile. The waitresses are super nice and regularly ask questions, but are never intrusive and always have a smile for their customers. Additional requests will be taken care of immediately.Parking: At peak times it can get crowded in front of the restaurant but then you just walk 30 seconds longer.“

“Nice small breakfast diner. Love the old school charm they have here. Decent service and not too long of a wait time. Only complaint will be not answering call in orders. No matter how busy make sure to give the best customer service possible. Other than that this is a hidden gem to try.“

“I don't remember the server's name but he was very respectful. We were here from out of town and wanted to see how great the breakfast was here. I had a build your own omelet and my other half had the Denver skillet. The food was great, we were so hungry we didn't take photos but the food was delicious, the service was good, and the server gave us top-tier service. When we come back to town we know where to stop.“
