“It’s the food and the owner for me. Kevin puts a gourmet spin on soul food. They have come a very long way, the food was always superb. However the timeliness of orders was a problem. They have ironed out those new restaurant kinks and are definitely in a league of their own. Kevin takes pride and n his food and it shows and taste. I’ve tried everything on the menu and my palette was pleased.“

“I chickened out and ordered the CFS with mashed potatoes, baked squash, Mac and cheese. My wife ordered the meatloaf, Mac and cheese, greens and baked squash. CFS was ok, nothing outstanding. My wife's meatloaf was excellent. Squash so-so, other vegetables were very good. Chocolate Pie was just ok. Definitely good for the price.“

“Went there on a 1st date and it was amazing! The atmosphere takes you in, the music, the laughter, and the smacking!!!! ? That means the food is delicious ? and it is! I don’t eat meat and they have the same foods cooked without meat! The side dishes Mac & Cheese, Cabbage! We had the catfish and guess what ? they have steaks! Everyone likes filets but I love catfish steaks! Overall go and eat and drink ? and enjoy yourself! Bring a friend they have nice sized portions!“

“What GREAT service! We went for breakfast and it’s what you would expect, eggs, hash browns, bacon, pancakes etc. pretty good food. I went with my aunt and she goes all the time. She recommends to get the rolls every time you go! So good! Even at breakfast they accommodated our request for rolls. Our server was awesome!Kid-friendliness: Total family spot.“

Although the staff was friendly during my visit for dinner, the wait time of one hour for reheated frozen and canned food was excessive. “Courtesy is outstanding. Knowledgeable service. I wanted some greens (real, not canned) they were the real thing. Ribs were tender and not sauced (my favorite way). I WILL be back and soon to try other options. Please give them a try. Can't add a photo. I ate the food too fast.“
