“I had the Chaco Oaxaca burger. That was a tasty burger. It had great flavor. The place was packed for lunch. The servers were really busy. The outside isn’t much to look at but that seems to be common in the area. I was told the burgers were great and they weren’t lying.“

“The decor is nice in this place. Good selection of drinks. The service was pretty good too. I had the full Irish breakfast which was one of the best ones I have had. It's not a super common menu item so it's nice when you come across it. The only thing I would change is a bit more grilled tomato. I like when you get half a tomato but this was more like an 1/8 cut into a wedge. Didn't hurt the flavor but I like the mushrooms and tomato that come with it so no need to skimp.I also had a couple of snake bites to wash it down and for dessert their brown bread ice cream. The ice cream was tasty and different. I really enjoyed it. It's served with a caramel sauce. Seemed like they had a lot of good food items. I would recommend, especially if you want something a bit different from the typical BBQ and Mexican food that is so common in the area.I feel like Dallas is a bit expensive for everything and this place was pretty standard in regards to price. Irish breakfast, three pints (snake bites) and dessert came out to $60. I was happy though ?“

“These burgers are a real gem. If you're looking for a classic American burger without all the crazy grease this is it. It's always perfectly hot when you get them and they are not really greasy which is really nice. My wife and I love coming here for a burger fix!“

“Cool neighborhood bar/pub. We sat outside on the patio to enjoy the beautiful spring weather. They have a pretty large interior section of the restaurant as well. Both the exterior and interior areas had TVs for sports. The menu was pretty diverse and had plenty of options. I opted for the 4 wings and a side of fries. It was nice that I got a choose of 2 different flavors of wings (my choices were dry rub and Thai chili). The wings were alright. The side of fries was plenty to split between 2 people. I also appreciated that I had the option to split the fries in half: sweet potatoes and waffle fries. STAR OF THE SHOW: Fried Mac and cheese Our server was awesome and came by just enough to keep up taken care of, but not too much that it was a bother!!“

“There are times when I go for a meal there and there is an energetic atmosphere with great consistency on food. Also there has been times when the atmosphere level was a 3 and food was mediocre. This is a good location and I get business times but still keep the consistency of the culture of the restaurant.“

“Love John’s!! We’ve been coming since I was a kid. True old fashion diner feel. To avoid the crowds, get there before 9am. The line is long at 9am but moves fast. Know what you want when you get up to John, he works fast. The breakfast special is a classic.“

Another slightly negative thing I noticed was that there were no thick milkshake straws, which makes it almost impossible to drink the shakes through the thin straws. “Went for lunch the place was packed. Ordered the wagyu beef burger and my friend had the regular bacon cheese burger. I also ordered the chili dog. The Wagyu burger comes cooked well it was really good. They have a full bar like fudruckers which I liked for sauces n toppings. The chili dog was meh but still good. “Food was great - had a mule too - we enjoyed a burger and a salad and split the Reese’s shake. Fun atmosphere and food had solid portions and very tasty. However we were with a large group and sat outside - tables were filthy - we even asked if they could be wiped down prior (food but and sticky shake drips etc) Nobody showed so we did it ourselves.Two long picnic tables for a party of 25 - but again service was great and no complaints in food. Glad we went early as it started to feel like it would get pretty rowdy later in the evening.“

“I last visited the HOB in 2012. At that time the Foundation Room was exclusive. Now it's open to all. The food is still 5 Star $$$. Although ordering is reminiscent of a Waffle House in the bad part of town; They asked to hold my credit card before taking my order.The members areas are roped off and small compared to the spacious setting. As a result the members were cramped together.My visit was 4/18/24, during the Roy Wood Jr. Show so maybe it's not usually as busy. Possibly they could expand the VIP seating during those times.I see no advantage to becoming a member other than the concert discounts and those are substantial.My dinner was wonderful, our table was great. Asking for the credit card first was ghetto.All in all, a mixed bag. I will be back, but with lowered expectations.“

“We rarely venture into Dallas but really had a hunger for a good burger. The reviews were good here and we got lucky that it was raining...so traffic and customers were much lighter. This is a great older style burger cafe. The staff was awesome and super friendly. There's only about 15-20 tables so I can imagine it gets packed in a weekend night. They even have TV's inside to keep you company. We ordered the fried mushrooms because they looked so good on Yelp. They were even better in person. If these aren't homemade than I've been fooled. They were AWESOME! Lots of crunch and great batter that was too thick. My double swish marathon burger and chili cheese fries was spectacular. So much flavor in the hamburger patties and the bun wasn't too thick. The chili/cheese fries were so good too. Then I stole a couple of my wife's onion rings. Great batter that perfect and huge pieces of onion. Some of the best I've had in a long time. If we get back to this part of Dallas I will definitely come back here.“
