“I had to check this place out after reading a recommendation on Nextdoor and learning that about its historical roots. I ordered a cheeseburger (#10) and wife ordered a swiss mushroom cheeseburger and she was delighted (#16). The "private lot" is kind of small, but there are plenty of parking spots on the adjacent street. The burgers are perfect size (in my opinion) and the fries are the right portion, with none leftover after all is said and done. Honestly, I came for the root beer since I am a big root beer fan and I heard that the house root beer is made in-house. It definitely live up to the hype, although the serving is on the smaller size (refills are $0.50). We dined in at the heat of the lunch rush, found no outdoor tables but a table indoor freed up while we were waiting. Overall, everything at this restaurant was run smoothly and efficiently.“
“I went inside and i noticed the interior was very nice and it felt local to the area. “Tried this place today. The pizza was phenomenal. I don’t eat any of the corporate pizza places so I always love finding a local place. Fresh dough, high quality cheese, perfectly crisped pepperoni. “Hot Pancakes is great! This is my first time. They've got a wonderful build-your-own menu for people who are eating, for instance, keto. And the regular menu is great, too! I had the chicken biscuit plate. It's an open face giant biscuit half, topped with a fried chicken filet, cheese and gravy. Comes with a side of hash browns, and, of course, two big fluffy pancakes. Coffee was good and plentiful. We were a group of five. We received excellent service with a dose of snark. “The burgers are made exactly how I like them! Great place for the burgers. I got the sweet potato fries and they're nice and crispy, so I recommend those instead of the regular potato. I give it 4 stars because it's not entirely different in terms of taste with other burger places I've been to, but this is convenient being near UTD. I also wish the combo added a drink!“

“Shady's is a semi-open air bar & restaurant on Custer, tucked away from the tollway in a quiet, shady part of town. It's a nice place for lunch, especially when the weather is nice. The price is reasonable, and the food is good. I've had their burger, and their Marg Chicken salad, which were both good. It's a great lunch spot to chill for a while.“

“We came on a Friday night after almost 2 hours of volleyball and basketball. I remember coming to LA Burger a long time ago but this was the first time with the family plus several other families. There was plenty of seating and the burgers came out fast and furious. The staff was courteous and quick. There are lots of drinks from the vending machine to try out. All in all, everyone got to eat their fill and enjoyed their time here.“

“Every year around thanksgiving I place an order for a tandoori turkey, if you are looking for ways to spice up thanksgiving this year, get this turkey! I placed my order a week prior and it comes with salad, naan, mashed potatoes and gravy alongside the turkey with vegetable biryani so it's perfect! I've brought this turkey again this year for thanksgiving, and I couldn't get more compliments from how delicious and tender the turkey was and how much flavor was packed In the turkey. They put the turkey on top of vegetable biryani and it just hit the spot. If you're not a fan of turkey they also have a whole tandoori chicken option. Save yourself time and order their thanksgiving tandoori turkey platter!!!!!“
“Walked in to a case of goodies to order. I want to say the lady we placed the order with was the owner. She is super sweet. Checked on us a couple of times. When we left, she said thank you for hanging out with us. I ordered the rellena ball, crawfish ball, the Cuban sandwich with plantain chips, 2 of each of the croquetas, and a chocolate tres leches. When I say that everything was amazing is an understatement. Between the service and the food, I was in heaven. Their coffee menu looks amazing, but it was too late to drink any. Definitely will eat here again. There are about 5 tables and 5 barstools inside and about 5 outside.“
