“Quality local-ish roast coffee shop in downtown Dallas. The beans are roasted in Fort Worth so that's pretty close, comparatively. That's what they say. Anyway. It's popular. There may be a line. That's OK. The coffee is worth the short wait. Also, doggo friendly.Despite being located in the Magnolia Petroleum Company's former headquarters, the coffee does not taste like motor oil. Don't you worry about that.“

“We have been going to Luckys for 15+ years for breakfast. We used to go quite a bit when we lived at Southside but not so much since we moved to the country. I have gotten to go there several times in the last couple of weeks. It's been a real treat the quality of the food and the service is still beyond anything I can find in the central Dallas area. Ask for biscuits before you start. Eat them plain with butter or like I do butter and strawberry jam. Ask for a pancake on the side, you can split it if you want, it's pretty big. I stay away from the cinnamon butter they give you and just use butter and syrup. I hope you get a chance... it will reset your standard.“

The John Wayne plate has cured hangovers that would kill a mule and the coffee is dark as midnight plus it keeps coming until you’re jittering so hard you can’t hold the mug!Seriously though, the nicest folks serving fresh made food in a laid back atmosphere. But the Parmesan Breakfast Potatoes and the French toast….will have me coming back EVERY SINGLE TIME. It is so good and The patio is amazing. I would say it’s only worth to come here for the patio. They have a beautiful garden outside that supplies their herbs and vegetables. And I believe our servers name was Holden and he was great! We added on French toast late and he made it happen to where we only waited a few minutes. For peace of mind, I would make a reservation if coming on the weekend.“

“I ordered takeout so I cannot speak on the service or the ambience. However, the food was good. Those garlic cheesy potatoes were 100% perfect. They didn't need any additional seasoning quite literally cooked to perfection. The croissant was a bit dark for me so I didn't taste much of the buttery (that's in the description) but the sandwich has a whole was pretty decent I could've just ordered a plate of potatoes and been happy.“

“We celebrated a friend's birthday and turns out this is the place for birthday celebrations as there was another party going on across from us. Zest Cafe is a super cute corner cafe, that is open, bright and lively. The staff was very nice and were well equipped to manage a full restaurant. They were very accommodating as our large party consisted of gifts, a cake and booster seats.We snacked on a sampler platter of almond croissants, kouign-amann, and apple cinnamon muffins. The croissant was a little dry, but the muffin and the kouign-amann were moist and delicious. We also shared plates of the edamame hummus and deviled eggs that were both really good.I thoroughly enjoyed the lavender st. Germain spritz and the togarashi tuna and ancient grain salad.“

“Great location, right near the Katy trail, so you can take your coffee and walk or sit at one of their many indoor or outdoor tables. I tried a vanilla matcha latte and a latte on tap. The latte being on tap was cool, and it could be served instantly. It wasn't too sweet, so if you're a sweet coffee lover I would add some flavor. The matcha was fantastic, it wasn't overly earthy like some can be. Of all the coffee shops I've been to in the area, this is definitely my favorite!“

A missing leading note is that they say the space is good for kids but if you plan on eating there with a little one you better only need one high chair and hope no one else has snagged it. They only keep one high chair for the whole restaurant. I would consider upping your count because saying kid friendly isn't accurate until that happens. Again, food was good but not kid and parent friendly.“

“When you walk into this restaurant it feels warm and inviting. The service was fair but not outstanding. We started with the escargot (not my favorite, was way too buttered and just left a film in my mouth, the steak tartare was excellent as was the oysters. We ordered the roasted chicken which was flavorful and moist. Didn't even use the gravy for it. We also had the striped bass which was done very well. I like their patio which was easy and relaxed.“

They don't make an issue about fussy kids which is a plus for coming with little ones. I will say the only issue I ever had was going in on a Monday at 11:30 and getting my normal Caesar salad with grilled chicken and the lettuce was soggy, not crispy. The first time I went to a first watch, I was a kid living in Florida, and I was convinced the Floridian French toast was a special reserved for Florida! “I love Merit for my post-church coffee run! the staff are always kind and will start up conversation easily. they seem super caring, regardless of their tough workload. As for their coffee, there's a whole lot of options. Their unwashed cold brew is so good, you don't need any sugar or milk!!! They only serve breakfast in opening hours. Salads, soups, hot sandwiches won't be available until 11:30am made fresh. Bottle waters $1 (Pure), Fuji ($1.50). I bought chicken salad sandwich combo with grapes & chips, bowl of corn shrimp Cajun chowder, and bottle of water for $21. Located adjacent to the Adolphus hotel, the coffee shop may experience some hotel traffic, but don't let that deter you. I ordered a vanilla pistachio latte, and it was excellent. The flavor combination was unique and well-balanced, making for a delicious drink. Otto's Coffee sources their coffee beans from Full City Rooster, known for having some of the best coffees in Dallas, and it definitely showed in the quality of my latte.
