We are still moaning with happiness over the amazing quality & flavor of EVERYTHING. You could taste the freshness & premium flavors from Lobster Bisque right down to the hand-made creamy butter they whip up on site from heavy whipping cream. And that key lime pie!!! My husband is a terrific grill master himself and both his parents are phenomenal cooks. He said it was the best food he’s ever had in his life. Next birthday, anniversary, romantic dinner, or important business meal take them here and they will adore you forever. They also have brunch Sat & Sun 11am-3pm I think. “We absolutely love this place! The portions are huge! The taco meat has so much flavor. They will make just about any changes or modifications to your plate without hassle. Any of the steak options are fantastic always tender and flavorful! They also have several sauces to enjoy if you want some chips and dips before your meal.

“If you are looking for East coast (NYC) style Chinese food, then your search ends here because this is the place to get it. The only thing missing is the homemade iced tea but besides that, everything else is the same. The food is awesome and made to order!

“Standalone restaurant with limited parking. There is additional parking across and down the street but this place is usually crowded so parking is an issue. Be prepared for a line, maybe out the door! You order at the counter and they bring you the food. Ok that's the bad, now the good. The staff is great and the food is even better. The prices are also great. If you want some really great seafood at great prices, this is your place. That's why it's always crowded. I highly recommend this place.“

This is not necessarily a bad thing but just a feedback... both times busy and not busy. I felt a little bit rushed. lol
Multiple people will ask if everything is good for the 30mins we were there probably 5 different people came to our table.
Tried to say we aren't ready for the check but another person comes and asks again.
So yes, it may feel like they want you out of there right away.

“We arrived for our 530 reservation at 5:10, and we're told our table would be ready closer to our reservation. We stood entrance for 20 minutes while others came in and were seated.  I've never had to wait that long to be seated when the restaurant was basically empty. Not a good business practice.“

“I had the catfish and shrimp and since it was Tuesday I got the shrimp cocktail for 5 bucks, normally it's 10. I really enjoyed the shrimp cocktail, it was packed full of shrimp and very good, I was surprised. The fried shrimp was very good, cooked with not to much breading. The catfish was well prepared and hot when it came out ,the only thing I didn't like is the catfish had a slight muddy taste and for me that's huge deal. It wasn't bad though I would go back and eat again.“

“Had the French Quarter plate. The etouffe was light but flavorful, a nice change. Hush puppies were tasty but a bit small and a bit harder in texture than I would like. The shrimp was delicious, light, and crispy. The star of the show was the catfish. Excellent texture and moisture in the flaky fish and a tasty, nongreasy coating.

Sadly, they were out of beignet, but the banana pudding was pretty good...and the key lime pie was great! Low (zero) on fake coloring but very high in flavor and tang.

“Wanted to try a new, authentic Chinese restaurant, and this fit the bill. The extremely nice older gentleman came by with some free peanuts and gave me a lunch menu which was pretty much the standard American Chinese that you see everywhere. So I asked him to pick out something more authentic from the main menu. As I wanted a pork dish, he recommended the spicy pork chop; and it was a very good choice. Fried pork chop chunks with some onions, and a modest amount of jalapeño and dried red chili. It wasn’t too spicy. I really enjoyed it and the staff/family was probably the nicest folks I’ve met in the restaurant industry. Totally recommend.“

“Wonderful Hidden Gem !!!!

Was given a suggestion by a friend to give Bambu in Richardson a try if I enjoyed Thai food, which I do. Thought I would drop in for lunch today and found a "Hidden Thai Gem" in Richardson that everyone should put on their regular restaurant list.
Met at the front door with a fantastic greeter in a young lady that continued as our waitstaff throughout the meal and we could not have asked for better service - it was fabulous !
Now to the most important - the food, two dishes were ordered at our table and both of them went above board on appearance and taste. The first one was Panang Curry - we decided to order this on a spice level 2. You can order on spice levels 1-3. Our decision was perfect for our taste. Very spicy but not over the top that it masked the tastes of the ingredients which included Chicken,coconut milk, bell pepper, zucchini, kaffir lime leaves, Thai basil all swimming in a broth that was incredible. Off to the side was a mound of Jasmine Rice - our decision was to combine the two into one dish and what an amazing combination we achieved.
Our second dish was the Bambu Specialty Crab Fried Rice which came with just the right amount of ingredients of meat, egg, tomatoe, onion, and scallions. It came out as a fried rice dish that made a meal in itself with no need for any addition seasonings.
The owners of the establishment came over and introduced themselves to us due to the fact that we had been referred to them and they were so gracious and had their space so well decorated in the era to note not only present time asian cultures but past time asian cultures as well. The interior was very well done.
So if you have not found this "Hidden Thai Gem" in Richardson, venture off to the southeast corner of Coit/Campbell - trust me, you will not be disappointed !!“
