“We went there for the first time and was not disappointed, the food was excellent and Liz was our waitress and everything was out of this world. I can't say enough great things about Liz and the 492. We will be back.“

“Counter and waitress staff are always friendly, we love the catfish special, very tasty, as good as the fancy place along the expressway, my wife likes it because it doesn't have that earthy aftertaste, try it and you'll be hooked 😋.“

“Exceptional Food, Outstanding Service!
My family and I are huge fans of True Texas BBQ! The food is consistently incredible, but what truly sets this location apart is the phenomenal staff. John, Ramos, and the entire team go above and beyond every single time. They’ve been beyond helpful and friendly, taking my meal planning to an exquisite level. In a time when finding a genuinely welcoming smile can be rare, this team shines. They make every visit a joy. Highly, highly recommended!“

“The Holiday Season 2025 menu was amazing, today I ordered the tamales and French toast and let me tell you, this is a MUST try!!!!!. Brisket Tamales on a bed of beans with eggs, 😋 10/10 (not exaggerating at all) French toast, is like brunching Texas style y'all. 10/10, legit 10 must try and hopefully came back later in the year.“
“One of the best hot pot places I've been to in the entirety of the continental US. High quality meats, great portions for veggies. And being able to get mini tasters of the hot pot bases is incredibly helpful and unique. On top of that the service was great. Knowledge staff and very attentive without being annoying or overbearing. 10/10, no notes!“

“If you are looking for an incredible mix of traditional Texas BBQ and perfectly executed comfort food, Ace’s BBQ is an absolute must-visit in the RGV. I recently ordered their Monster Potato with Beef Fajita, and they did not disappoint. The portions are huge, the fajita is incredibly moist and flavorful, and everything was served exactly how I wanted it. Unlike some spots where the service can be hit-or-miss, the team at the McAllen location is efficient, welcoming, and consistently on point. Highly recommend stopping by if you want authentic Texas BBQ done right!“

“We had early dinner. The food portions were big. Normally side salads are small to medium size in other restaurants. But the strawberry side salad was same portion as the one served with chicken. Except as a side it doesn't have chicken. waitress was so nice. She was delightful with my granddaughter and they had a little conversation before we left.“

“We had a wonderful experience at Benji’s BBQ! Even though they were about to close for the night when we arrived, the lady at the front still welcomed us in with a warm smile and seated us without hesitation.
The Food: Absolutely delicious and well worth the visit.
The Service: Exceptional. Our server really went above and beyond to make our night special.
The Atmosphere: The dining area is on the smaller side, but it feels incredibly cozy and inviting.
The prices are very decent for the quality you get. If you find yourself in the area, this spot is a must-try! We truly enjoyed our dinner and will definitely be back.“
