“Lived in Austin all my life and never visited here once, I happen to get reminded that this library was here by google maps. Decided to immediately visit here the following weekend and was not disappointed. Absolutely insane building. Took my kid to the second flood, has a center atrium and there are 2 sides; one for children and one for teens. If you have kids there’s a lot for them to do. There are computers to use, toys they can play with, and the books of course. Even outside seating if you want fresh air either on the top floor or any of the outside porches. A ton a seating areas and every floor with plenty of places to charge or plug in devices. Cafe Cream on the first floor if you need a beverage. There’s a dedicated area just to play board games. Again, insane library. The only thing I can complain about is you have to pay to park in the parking garage, which is expected for the downtown area but wish it wasn’t so.“

We went back after two years, and it was still a great experience. We got desserts to go which were wonderful too. Just one hiccup, we felt the veggie burger this time was on the dry side and less flavorful, but overall we really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back.“

“I will be completely honest— I was originally extremely skeptical of this place. I’ve noticed a trend in Austin recently where private, for-profit ventures have been co-opting naming conventions commonly used for public space/community ownership/places for people to gather that don’t require spending money (like community garden, assembly hall, public goods, etc). But I really think they’re doing the best they can to foster a sense of community. They do a lot of programming that is free and accessible, like doodling nights. The space, both indoor and outdoor, is really beautiful. I sometimes come on the weekends to read in the morning and there are always at least 3 or 4 other people doing the same thing. The no laptop policy after 5 is awesome in my opinion. In the past few years, Austin coffee shops have become a cacophony of people taking work calls which is infuriating, inconsiderate, and distracting. It’s amazing that this place offers a respite from devices. And I haven’t tried the evening menu but am excited to!

To the person who complained about parking— unless you want community garden to tear down another local business and build a parking lot, the best option is probably for people to park using the ample street parking (which is public). I live in a neighborhood next to a bunch medical offices and people are constantly parking in front of my house, but the reality is that I am not any more entitled to that public space than someone else just because it’s in front of my house. Austin is growing and ideas/the culture around entitlement to parking spaces need to change“

The cake did arrive a day after I thought I'd requested it for so this could've been my mistake. The delivery fee also seemed a little high BUT the cake made it absolutely worth it. So so yummy, highly recommend.

“We went for lunch. This place was awesome, it had a very nice atmosphere and the girls attending were kind. The food was also very tasty as well as their lattes, we had their Texas Wagyu Hot Dog and Corned Beef Sandwich, the corned beef sandwich has a strong pickled flavor and spicy (or you can skip the jalapeños) so if you like that I’ll definitely recommend trying it. They also give you a great amount of fries that we couldn’t even finish them but not a problem at all!

“I ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich and it was delicious! I’ve had their chicken quesadilla which was really yummy as well.

I like that they use focaccia bread, it takes the flavor to another level. The chicken slices are on the thin side for the price, but that makes it easier to eat and enjoy with the bacon and additions (lettuce, tomatoes and onions), it’s more like a panini sandwich since it’s all grilled.

Very tasty, highly recommended!“

“Mary's Cafe is one of those little gems that makes Austin feel like Austin. It's quirky aesthetics are brought to life by a lively and fun crew working hard to make sure their customers leave with a smile. I left with a smile, a full belly, and some how hungry for more!!
I had a vanilla iced latte. It tasted like coffee, with hints of vanilla and cream. Which is more than you ask for from most places. It was moderately priced and a good size for the large. It was definitely above average for a nice latte. In a city filled with banana foam lattes it's nice to get a well done basic vanilla latte.
I ordered the pumpkin waffle, a season menu item. It was simply delightful. It had an almost caramelized crunch on the corners. The inside was fluffy and the pumpkin flavor was mild to moderate. If you love a flavor punch in the face this isn't your bag of beans but I'll get to that in a minute. This dish was all about the medley of fall flavors. The way the pumpkin, cinnamon sugar, and sweet cream cheese came together felt like a warm hug. It reminds me of coming in from a hard day playing in the snow to get a cuppa hot cocoa and nice piece of cinnamon toast from your mom.
Now, for you punch-to-the-face flavor lovers I also got the Pimento Cheese Chicken Panini. It was saucy and smoky with a vibrant kick from the pickled onion.
The pricing here is bang-on and very fair. If anything It's a little cheap for what you get flavor wise. It's an affordable cafe with perfect portion sizes for a good lunch that won't leave you feeling gross and may even have a snack for later. Both dishes were big enough for one meal I shared with my husband.“

“Austin has lost the art of quaint cosy coffee shops. Flightpath has not!! I kid you not I drove around to 5 different coffee shops all within the same area (Hyde park-ish) hoping to find a quiet coffee shop where I could SIT (crazy to think coffee shops have very limited sitting) and do some work. Most were either crazy loud, had no outlets, or had uncomfortable seating. Flightpath is doing it RIGHT in every single department. I was so thankful when I walked in and was able to quickly find seating, no line to get coffee, and found easy access to an outlet. Thank you so much Flightpath, you’ve gained a customer for life!
