“One of my favorite spots I’ve hit in Austin. Unique menu, only tried the Karage and Brisket but looking forward to coming back to try other items. Karage was incredible, the ghost pepper aioli was one of best aiolis I remember eating recently. Brisket was great as well. Also a great outdoor space and a lot of open space. TVs everywhere else so great place to post up, eat, drink, and catch up with friends.“
“Franklins be damned, La Barbecue be damned, Terry Blacks be damned, hell, any social-media-crazed barbecue spots be damned; this is as real-deal quality Texas BBQ as you'll EVER get. All without the lines (probably a temporary thing), the exorbitant cost over quality, and with some of the most authentic and friendly Texans working there you'll ever meet (love you, Brad). At the current time of writing Jim's has 48 reviews with a perfect 5.0 stars, and folks, this ain't for no reason. I've been coming here for over a year now at their other location and I really can't say enough good things about how this is my (and literally anyone I've brought here's) favorite BBQ place in the world; let alone Texas. Their moist brisket practically separates from just starring at it the wrong way it's that tender, and their dual sauces that are served with each plate satisfy pallets that prefer both the thicker/sweeter or thinner/vinegar-based styles. The bark is also very pronounced and loaded with flavor, so this place is basically a brisket lover's best dream come true. I could on about their sides and how amazing they also are, but if you're not already coming here for this review on their brisket then you don't deserve their world-class sides.Do yourself a favor and come here sooner rather than later, you won't regret it.“
“Amazingly consistent BBQ. As good, if not better, than most of the "famous" places around town. Plus the pork ribs and bbq sauce are the best I've had in Texas - beef is king in Texas but if you are craving some great hog, this is the 100% place. You can take your food to the bar / patio next door where there is a great green space and even a sand box and park for the kids to play.Kid-friendliness: Park with swings and slide and big sandbox next door where you can eat and the kids can play.“
“I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. My 15 yr old son is special and it it obvious in how he interacts with the world. The employees there were so patient and kind with him and now it is his favorite place after 1 visit, the banana pudding is also excellent.“
“Let's just say this was my first farmers market visiting here in austin and these place is definitely my new go to Sunday spots it feels so good to visit your local businesses owners and support them such a great feeling just seeing everyone out supporting the booths a few stands might have a line to stand in but it's worth the wait my favorite stands was yapa empanadas especially the chorizo it was amazing and then my favorite jeanys pressed Caribbean her natural juices and her all natural hot cocoa is so amazing and delicious“
“Such a cute little spot for a brunch - especially on a day where the weather is great! The staff were amazing during today’s visit. No complaints there. Definitely a family friendly location. I tried their breakfast sandwich but I wasn’t too much of a fan because of the overpowering arugula flavor. Fries were good though! Would definitely be okay with coming back to try a different dish.“
“Overall great food. But, I can't give them five stars because they stopped serving two of my favorite menu items that I used to go there specifically for, on a weekly basis: pork loin and green bean casserole. They don't have comparable replacements, either (pulled pork isn't a replacement, sorry). I now only visit about two or three times a year, or less.“
“Pok-e-Joe’s has been my favorite bbq place since arriving in Austin in 1984. The Parmer location has become my fav pickup location when heading home from north Austin. Very consistent and delicious preparation. We get combo plates: brisket/sausage and brisket/pork ribs last night. Always get pinto beans. Love their fresh broccoli salad. Potato salad is good, but a bit sweet for me. The condiment bar (dill, spicy and deli pickles, red and yellow onions, jalapenos) is wonderful. And don’t forget the Texas toast!!! Seems to be getting a little expensive, but what isn’t. 2 combo plates with 2 sides ea, toast and a pint of broccoli salad with 10% tip was $52. It was a lot of delicious food and can easily feed 3. And they took ApplePay, which really saved me since I forgot my wallet.Parking: Shopping center parking lot. Close in spots may be available, but plenty of spots available just a short walk (40-50ft) away.“
“Perfect Match Kemuri Tatsu-Ya combines two of my favorite things in a match I absolutely loved Describing itself as both a Japanese izakaya and Texas smokehouse, Kemuri honors the flavors of Japan while bringing a distinctive Texas spin Items I loved included the brisket served with Tsukemen noodles, the smokehouse flavored bbq tuna collar with nori seaweed wraps as well as the chinmi "sake accompaniments" that you often see only at more authentic Japanese establishments As we enjoyed our sake and sampled a variety of delicious bites, it was very clear that Austin's diverse food scene has got game It's easy to be skeptical of any fusion restaurant but Kemuri is refreshingly creative with bold flavors, great portions and unique items Sweet and Sour Mozuku Shooter $4 / Taiyaki Cornbread $6.5 / Jellyfish $6 / Ankimo $13 / Beef Tartare $19 / Tsukune $7 / Beefy Shrooms $14 / BBQ Tsukemen with Brisket $15 / BBQ Eel $16 / Bento +$15 / Tuna Collar $35 / Tamago Pudding $6 Kemuri Tatsu-Ya (Austin, TX) Seating is both indoor and outdoor in the back patio. If outdoors, there are flies but they have fly fans. Reservations are recommended on Resy and credit cards including Apple Pay are accepted.“
