“888 is a staple for any old ATX people who still love the familiarity of their beloved town. They were one of the few that didn't fall to the 'Ronie Days of 2020, and they were one of the first to be available to the public when things went catty wonkus. I've been coming here since my oldest was a toddler, and the long-timers who are holding it down have more or less seen my youngest grow from a tiny spam-baby to a full tweeny monster. The older crew (the ones who have worked there longest) always remember us and always make us feel taken care of.

The food is fast and delicious and you'll most likely have enough to take home or you can share a dish with a friend, as most dishes are generous portions. Our favorites are pho, any of the curries, Tom Kha, orange chicken, crab rangoons, and the vermicelli bowls. The salmon curry is also amazing.

They had a little bit of a makeover a year or so ago, but it didn't take away from the overall charm of the old 888 vibe they had going.

Among the few servers we adore, Binh is our standout man. He's kind, thoughtful, expedient and has the best sense of humor. He hustles his bum off and goes out of his way to make sure not just the tables are taken care of, but I always see him helping out with other servers on top of his own tables. If I ever worked with him in a demanding and fast paced environment, I'd be in really strong and upbeat company. Like Jose at Cheko's, Binh has become a wonderful ATX fixture that deserves some love and praise. Mess with Binh and you mess with me and my kiddos! 🫵🏼 Put it this way, if I ever won the powerball jackpot, not a lot of people would know, but Binh would get a huge surprise from my little family.“

“I ate PHO Bo. Visiting Austin for 3 days and I was looking forward to eating some great BBQ and was let down Austin. However I searched for a great place to dine while I was in Austin and learned about the Le Bleu being an excellent local Vietnamese Cruise. Then I thought that I don’t recall when I had Vietnamese Cruise last. My expectation was high to eat some Pho especially the broth, veggies and beef. I’m not a noodle fan and me personally I want to be filled up by protein, veggies and broth whenever I have Pho. (Disclaimer I have eaten well throughout my visit in Austin and I was just looking for local cuisine that wasn’t glamorous nor expensive.) Le Bleu serving proportion is not to the custom of a cake bowl of Pho. The proportion was excellent, something from your own kitchen; not to be disappointed with. The broth, veggies, beef and even the noodles; yes the noodles was superb. You won’t be disappointed and my gluttony kicked in on having more and ordered Vietnamese coffee and chicken sandwich. You will be disappointed for not trying Le Bleu. No need to add fancy photos to lure you; glamour is overrated. You need to judge the food for yourself especially if you are a residence of Austin or anyone visiting Austin. Your tummy will be satisfied with some great food and drinks.“

“I love Saigon so much. I think about it all the time and crave it (especially the bahn mi) which is unfortunate bc my boyfriend lives so close. They have a full coconut on the menu which is fun and delicious. One time they did torch my meat on my vermicelli noodles bc it was fun and we were the only ones in there, but it kinda ended up tasting like butan. I still loved it. That’s how much I love it lol. The host and service ppl are always very nice as well! Curry ramen is a MUST - haven’t tried the pho though. Def the best bahn mi I’ve had in Austin. I never leave reviews but for the amount of space they take up in my brain they deserve it!“

I got my food to go as I prefer to watch a movie while I eat in this weather so I didn’t spend too much time inside the restaurant, but I think going forward I’m going to continue to order my food to-go. “I love Hai Ky! Always fresh and fast. Went in yesterday and was surprised to discover at the end that there is now a "12.5% service & maintenance" fee. So on top of the regular menu price, tax & tip there is now a Service & Maintenance fee. I'm all for making more money but adding an additional line item is just the wrong way of going about it. Please raise the prices of the dishes or the drinks but don't add some arbitrary line charge to the receipt. That feels insulting to the customer and discourages directly tipping the service staff. The blow could've been soften if there was something written somewhere or if the staff told you about the additional charge. Instead, was blindsided at the end of the meal when the check was presented. No warning! Get rid of that charge!“

“It’s a quick come and to go Vietnamese food and snacks. They are some tables for you to dine in as well and it’s highly recommended if you are ordering noodles soup or the steamed rice rolls. The food comes piping hot and tasty to our palette. They have fresh fried tofu, soy milk (sweetend/unsweetened), and other delicious Vietnamese bites as well.“

“Excellent establishment, perfect for an afternoon date or study time. Outlets at many tables, perfect lighting, and a radio at low levels to enhance focus made my study time ideal and enjoyable.

Now on to the food, oh my goodness, how delicious. The iced coffee is to die for, there are so many good menu items, my favorite being the lemongrass beef sandwich. They provide the Stubborn soda brand soda which is superior to Pepsi and coke on all levels.

The staff are nice and friendly, and work hard to make amazing menu items and to keep the place nice.

I was craving Vietnamese food today and found this place nearby on yelp. I started with brisket Bao buns, which were sitting on a perfect smear of hoisin sauce and crisp vegetables. The buns are quite filling so I was pleased to see No Meat Pho on the menu (just broth, noodles and fixings.) the beef broth is so flavorful and was served steaming hot. I did have room for more protein so I ordered a side of chicken, which was excellent and you could taste the charcoal from the grill. Everything was very fresh. The service was very friendly and the ambience was relaxing. Very clean inside as well. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes.“
