“Just had some fantastic breakfast tacos. After being on a hunt for some authentic Mexican tacos, we struck gold on the last day of the year, 12/31/2025. There were three of us and we each selected two tacos of our choice to share. We arrived around 10:40A and the line was loooong, however there are a lot of people working and we received our order within 10-15 minutes. It was fast. Be listening to your name because they will call it out.
Between the three of us, we tried the following tacos: barbacoa, chicharron, the Willis, the Lola, the ranch potato, and the chorizo and egg. The tacos are quite big.
Barbacoa had perfect seasoning. All tender meat, (none of that fat) rolled into a hot and delicious homemade flour tortilla. Absolutely amazing.
I ordered the green salsa chicharron, I could have eaten an entire one for myself. The pork skin on this taco was cooked perfectly into the green salsa that wasn’t spicy. It was just really, really good. We added just a few dashes of salt, which I totally appreciated, because I’ve had some that were too salty for my liking.
The Willis taco had bean, potato, bacon, and cheddar cheese. Great combo and great tasting. Our lesser favorite of all tacos, but still great because the beans made this taco a little more special.
Lola is a taco made with ground beef and seasonings and potatoes. Really good seasoning that we really liked. Meat and potatoes were tender and cooked perfectly.
The ranch potato was awesome. Simple potatoes with a salsa sauce and veggies. Great for the vegetarian in your circle of friends or family. Delicious tasting and definitely another for next time around.
Lastly, we had to try the chorizo and egg. All I can end with is, yum.
We really enjoyed all the tacos. We left with full bellies and ready to tackle 2026.“

This place is awesome in every way if you know what great tex mex and fantastic service is supposed to look like. I judge by the simplest of terms in Tex Mex food as it's a simple cuisine that relies on the right combination of spices and materials to be both authentic and delicious. We have that nailed here. So for all the tourists looking to be seen in the fancy place dumping loads of money on overpriced and not so good food, keep going down to that place on Main in San Antonio. Otherwise to see what it feels like to be treated and fed like family, go to El Rio in Boerne. Also, don't order more than one margarita without a driver. They go down like Kool aide and are to die for. I will drive across San Antonio and pass all the other places for a plate of enchiladas in Boerne. Atmosphere is authentic and the family run feel is as real as it gets. Don't expect mariachi singers unless you bring a band. This is the real deal. So five stars isn't enough, but they get it easily.“

“Hello, I stopped in to get breakfast one morning before attending a class in the Boerne area. Being from San Antonio I have high standards for good mexican food. Well, I will be darned, the food was on point! The tortillas were great, and the food tasted fresh and amazing. I will definitely be making the drive out to your restaurant. It's definitely the best mexican food in the Boerne area.“

“Went for lunch on my lunch break, and was served by a wonderful soul that is Samantha! I wasnt sure what to order, so she was very patient and recommended a few house specialties, i ended up ordering a chimichanga. And the food was outstanding but what made the vist much more memorable was the uppity spirit of hers , I left stomach satisfied and and high spirited. 10/10 will definitely be coming back again“

“I went this Saturday, November 22. 2025. I had seen this restaurant when I went to UPS and told my daughter , lets go try it. It was horrible, I order the onion and tomatoes omelet and hardly any tomatoes but big pieces of onions in it. Bacon that had seen better days, and it didn't taste good. My daughter had the enchiladas and she said nope. We won't be going there again.“

“The food is good but the morning guy in the drive thru today and the last 2 mornings needs to work on his customer service skills. When I ordered he just said Okay so I said that was it for my order he said Okay that's 3.44. I pull up to the window and he said that's 3.44 and then he said do you want salsa, I said no and then he handed me my food and did not say thanks or have a great day. Youth these days really need to learn good customer service skills!“
